: [ Happy Monday! Take a Breath ] : Sometimes I need to remind myself to do that. I woke up with lots of anxiety today and, instead of just going about my morning, I decided to pause to acknowledge it. I know what it's about and ignoring it would just mean it would just creep up later. Instead, I prayed about it, got a bit of calm and began getting ready for work. I think there is value in taking a breath sometimes to just acknowledge a feeling that is there. You may not be able to resolve it at that moment or even make sense of it, but to be present with it is important. Then, use whatever coping method you need to move through the moment until you can dig deeper later; whether it's prayer, meditation, music, calling a friend, something. Whatever you do, guard your mental health; don't just "stuff it!" ❤. : : On another note... Sometimes getting little extra artistic or creative with my hair and makeup also helps me when I am tense, stressed or anxious. Today I had fun with a little touch of sparkle on the lids and a pretty leaf barrette accessory for my side-parted curls. For all of my fellow low-density, thin-haired curlies, please don't be discouraged when you see accessories like this!! [ ↔️ SWIPE] I know the first thing that comes to mind is the thought that you won't be able to keep it from slipping. Just remember to think outside the box! My trick is to use my dependable Good Hair Days mini comb to lift and secure my hair first. (in this case, my sideswept curls.)(I've spoken about it in previous posts; it's amazing and the only accessory that holds my thin hair in place!) Then, I can gently add the pretty accessory on top and no one will know. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about where I am in my life, & all the ways in which I’ve continued to play small, because the fears/doubts/insecurities can be overwhelming at times. Nobody’s life is “perfect,” & I’m kind of over everybody on social media acting as if their lives are. I quit my teaching job 3 years ago so that I could pursue coaching, yet here I am, not doing any coaching & working all sorts of random jobs that are slowly killing me inside. And I can’t do it anymore. I can’t keep pretending like this is ok, when my life is basically the same story over & over again, and year after year nothing changes. I’m done with that bullshit, & tired of lying to myself & acting like it’s all ok when it’s not. I can’t allow self-sabotage to be the killer of my dreams. People like to blame the Universe or whatever higher power they believe in when things don’t get what they want. But guess what? Everything in your outer world is a reflection of what’s going on in your inner world. So really, it’s all on YOU, & you have to be willing to put in the work to receive a return. And I’m ready to rise up & help women quit obsessing over their bodies & food so they can learn to fully love themselves as they are. If you find yourself playing small, I want you to be willing to challenge the beliefs that say you can’t do it. Because I absolutely guarantee that you can. No more playing small 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

I’m starting to get used to this chilly weather 🌧 Totally ready to kick this week’s ass! I’m really excited for all the fun things happening this week, it’s my birthday and I’m definitely one of those people who celebrates for 7 days straight 😅😂 No matter! I’ve pre-planned all my workouts and meals that I could so even when I do indulge in the yummy stuff I won’t fall off the bandwagon completely. Losing weight doesn’t have to be all or nothing - don’t diet, change your lifestyle! In your new lifestyle there will be lots of indulging in delicious food, the key is finding your balance. It took me a long time before I found mine and it was a lot of trial and error. I never gave up and had complete faith that as long as the steps I made moving forward we’re healthier than yesterdays, I’d reach my goals - and I did. Qu’est-ce que je veux manger? . Ça parait con comme question, mais en fait souvent on n’y réfléchit même pas. . Je dis oui au chocolat parce que j’aime le goût. Je mange une salade parce que c’est plus sain. Je dis non à un goûter parce que c’est pas raisonnable. . Mais ton corps n’est pas qu’une langue et une apparence. La nourriture n’est pas là uniquement pour satisfaire tes papilles ni pour te faire maigrir. C’est un tout. Il y a plusieurs aspects à écouter pour être complètement satisfaite. . 🥨 tes papilles / ton goût 🥨 tes émotions (envie de réconfort ou de distraction par ex) 🥨 ton bien être (quand je mange ça : ça me fatigue, ça me donne de l’énergie, ça me fait mal au ventre, ça me tient au corps) 🥨 ton niveau de faim/satiété . Y a pas que la langue et le gras qui comptent. . Comment choisir ce que tu veux vraiment manger et quand? En pensant aux différents aspects que tu veux et peux satisfaire. . • En ne culpabilisant pas de faire une crise par exemple (c’est ta façon de combler une émotion aujourd’hui) • En choisissant une salade au lieu de la pizza parce que tu sens que c’est ce qui va convenir à ton niveau de faim et te donner l’énergie dont tu as besoin • En choisissant la pizza parce que tu es avec tes amis/tu fais une soirée toute seule et que ça va t’apporter le réconfort dont t’as besoin. . Parce que tu aimes. Parce que ça te fait du bien. Sans culpabiliser. Sans penser aux « ce serait mieux de.. ». . Ya que toi qui sait ce dont tu as besoin maintenant. Écoute-toi et sois bienveillante. Love my home workouts😍. • Able to get it done early without compromising on sleep because if I had to chose between sleep or a drive to the gym... sleep will win! • I forgot my workout tee this morning.. no worries😉 Don't need to worry about my tummy jiggling or being exposed in my living room... at gym I would of turned around and gone home which would of meant no workout! • It also helps that the 🔥🔥🔥 is 30 minutes!! • Feeling strong powerful and accomplish all before 6am this morning #winner

Monday lunchtime run mixed in with a bit of #mondaymotivation for you 🔸Would you say you are extrinsically or intrinsically motivated? 🔹in other words - what is pushing you on in your weight loss/fitness journey? Is it the big dirty cheat meal you’re going to have after your run, or the new gym gear you’re going to treat yourself to when you reach a new low weight, or the after photos?! 🔸Whilst these things can help in the beginning, they are extrinsic motivators and research shows that intrinsic motivation is the key to success. Are you motivated purely by the love of what you are doing? Are you motivated by the challenge? By seeing your body do more, because you enjoy the exercise and love the food you eat? If you are, then you are on to a winner! People who exercise over their lifetime and make permanent healthy changes are those who are highly intrinsically motivated because they are driven by the love of what they do. 🔹These people also tend to feel like they have a high level of control over their lives, and feel they have the power to make the changes they want to. 🔸If this isn’t you, then maybe have a rethink of the direction you are going in. What you’re doing isn’t necessarily wrong, but there may be something better for you out there - a sport you’ve never tried but might love, a food group that you are cutting out that you don’t need to! Just because everyone on insta is lifting weights and eating salads, doesn’t mean that is the only weigh get healthy! 🔹 🔹Find your way, find what works for you and start slow, making sure you enjoy it and feel in control every step of the way! 🔸 🔸I feel so fortunate that I’ve found a few different types of exercises that I absolutely love and look forward to doing every day.
