Day 28 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - #Wheelpose variation + @katydoesyoga's modification - One-legged bow pose in downward facing dog . Picture progression: 1. The best I could get for Carmen's variation of wheel. 2. The more comfortable variation of trying to reach foot to head, but it's not as much a balancing pose. 3. I also tried Katy's one legged bow in down dog. It was easier to get into on one side vs the other. . Final day of the Level Rebel challenge! This was my first time following these 28 day yoga challenges. Thank you so much to @cyogalife, @yogawithaislinn, and @katydoesyoga Majority of these variations were new to me and I really enjoyed this learning/growing process. While I may not do many of these on a regular basis, I did feel that while going through this month I'm getting more confident at knowing how to properly prepare my body for a particular peak pose and I also learned so much from all the hosts' detailed write ups. Today I used @kaylala88's Heart Chakra class to fire up the back and open the chest. It was perfect 😍 and @katydoesyoga's mod also felt so nice after attempting the wheel variation! Day 26 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - #Durvasana (definitely modified though!) . πŸ˜‚ Here I am, one leg behind my head while I balance on the other leg. Props came in handy today! I used Carmen's tip to try with a strap (one loop around foot, one around opposite shoulder) and even though I'm not upright like a full Durvasana, it felt like huge progress for my first attempt at this. Initially I relied on the wall to warm up into this, but eventually I was able to move away from the it. Day 25 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - #DancerPose / #Natajarasana . The yoga strap (or in my case an old belt I borrowed from my husband's side of the closet and will probably not ever give back πŸ˜‰) came in handy today as flip grip in this pose wasn't happening for me today. I really enjoyed exploring more range using this as a prop. Day 23 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - Half #gomukhasana in #parsvayogidandasana variation + @yogawithaislinn's #parivrttanavasana variation because I had no idea if I did today's pose properly πŸ˜‚ . Thank you @beahappyamy for going through Carmen's move today in your flow! I checked out the written instruction when it was giving tips for tomorrow's pose and I was so confused πŸ˜‚ ....that just added to this confusing looking pose. I think I got it?? πŸ€” One tip for future self reference: I think I could have opened up my shoulders up a bit more before attempting this. Just in case I totally didn't get today's pose, I got my core fired up by going through Aislinn's modification for today. Day 21 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife I did the @yogawithaislinn's "modification" πŸ˜‚ #EkaPadaBakasanaB / #turnsignalpose And Carmen's #lolasana variation . I started with the lolasana variation and I SWEAR my bum is off the floor πŸ˜‚ I also did it on blocks for which, of course, there was more lift. This one turns everything on!!! I was so proud of how long I could hold it - compression really gets the heart beating πŸ˜…, but i couldn't get it to a point where it looks like I'm lifted. I didn't think I'd d be able to hold the crow pose variation, but I did! Day 20 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - I started with @katydoesyoga's modification for today - #TipToeForwardFold / #PrapadaUttanasana and then made my best attempt at Carmen's pose of the day - #TittibhasanaC . Yesterday morning I did my first tempo run and strength training for legs. Last night I followed my own yin style flow holding poses for 3-4 mins. So very worth it πŸ’• I usually don't peek at the day's pose until the morning of, so when I saw today's pose went deep into the hamstrings, I wondered how it would go. Stretching at night always really helps me the next day - especially on days that I run. Day 19 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - #SideShoulderStand / #ParvaSarvangasana . I'm posting my progress of understanding in reverse order here + a modification (supported by both hands) using the wall as a prop. At first I didn't clue in that there was a side bend here. I was finding my balance on one arm initially by modifying in my own way - only one leg straight instead of both. And THEN I realized this was a kind of twist shoulderstand! I was very happy with my progress today considering this was my first time doing this AND I wasn't even wearing yoga clothes 🀣 ... Day 18 of #LevelRebel with @cyogalife - #Kuntasana standing variation . I'm slowly building my running up again and I'm already noticing a difference in my body. Normally, I would find my left leg balance to be trickier than the right or my left hamstring and psoas to be tighter, but actually everything felt off on my right side which also happens to be the side I had to work through PT sessions on. The differences I felt: - it was more of a challenge to bring my right foot any closer to my armpit in the first photo - I needed to use a higher block setting while balancing on my right leg.
