Lowerbody warm up. For sumo deadlift Some of our clients may see some pretty familiar movements here. Generally for a warm up you want to begin with movements that are more general, in this case, walking with a band. Just to turn on the muscles you are going to be using. As you proceed into the warmup the movements you do will begin to be a lot more specific to what you're going to be doing, as you can see the frog pose and the wide stance goblet squat. Monday morning bench session. There’s so many technique cue’s and things to think about when performing deadlifts! . Here’s a couple of them from my academy . Practice the proper technique and form over and over and you will get great results! Practice shit technique and improper form over and over and you will get great pain! . The best part of this video is the unseen footage of @mccleary_c trying to use shit technique but still making it look better then 90% of deadlifts we see in our local gyms! This is because I have absolutely drilled good form into her head for the last couple years, she doesn’t know how to fuck it up anymore 😂 a few tips and some help from @by_lukesymonds and myself and we have us some nicely rounded back deads😆 . In the graphic I show three signs of poor ankle mobility during your squat. The soleus is going to be the main culprit typically for poor ankle mobility. ⠀ 📍Forward Lean By leaning forward, you can limit the amount of dorsiflexion (foot towards shin) you have to do. ⠀ During the descent phase of the squat. You may find yourself leaning forward and not being able to go low. ⠀ Of course there are other reasons for why you may not be able to go low such as not having the proper squat pattern or just don’t have the right biomechanics to go deeper. ⠀ 📍Feet Turn Out As you descend in your squat, you might find that your feet automatically turn out. ⠀ This could potentially be because you’re not able to fully go into dorsiflexion because you have poor ankle mobility. ⠀ So, to compensate, your feet turn out to reduce the amount you have to dorsiflex. ⠀ 📍Heels Come Off the Floor As you descend in the squat, you might find your heels come off the floor. ⠀ This is 99% because of ankle mobility. ⠀ It could potential also be because of poor neuromuscular control. But, it’s very likely that your soleus is really tight. ⠀ ⠀ 📍As I mentioned earlier, the soleus will mainly be responsible for allowing your ankle to go through its range without restriction. ⠀ If tight, you will find it hard to dorsiflex and you may end up compensating in one of these three ways. There are also other factors to consider, but this is a great place to start. ⠀ Hope this helped! Trap Bar Deadlift ➡️ Nordic ➡️ Yoga Push Up. Deadlift: 100kg x 8 130kg x 8 140kg x 6 150kg x 6 160kg x 4 170kg x 2 Nordic x 4 after each Yoga Push Up x 12 after each Nothing fancy. Just the basics. For me, having strong glutes and strong hamstrings go a maaaassive way in keeping me healthy and injury free. Always nice to have a pal keeping an eye on me too. Muscle up madness! 💪💪💪 . Lost about 5 kilos lately and I'm not gonna lie, made these a lot easier!!! . Had just done a tasty little Deadlift session with a E2MOM x 4 of 75%ers @ 157.5kg. . Then topped off with a scorcher of a partner workout done with the bodyweight demon @stewartbromley : . 3 Deadlifts at 100kg 12 Toes to rings 6 Deadlifts 12 TTR 9 Deadlifts 12 TTR 12 Deadlifts ........ We 5 reps into the 21s, 2 days later and my back is still on 🔥🔥🔥 . Then after a little chill out just thought I'd mess about with these muscle up tings! . S 230/ B 160/ D 235 (625kgs total) at 134.1kgs... 7/9 missed two squats at 240 and 245, and right quad till now feels awkward and tight... finished 3rd because of bodyweight... this maybe my last comp this season or for awhile, who knows really 😁... really need time to reflect on what I must improve on to be better... but never been this happy since this is my third nationals now...
