I was too afraid to post this before and after to my actual page because I didn’t want to be seen as one of “those girls” and I was afraid of what people would think▪️ But after so much positive feedback, I realized that it was silly to care what anyone thinks. SOUL FOOD 💜 Have you heard of the term soul food? Soul food refers to food items that you LOVE eating...foods that you enjoy the taste of...foods that make you feel happy when you eat them...foods that are good for your soul! A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I eat in a balanced manner using an 80/20 approach. 80% of the time my diet is full of the healthy stuff, while the remaining 20% is reserved for my soul food. I haven’t always been healthy. • I have had an eating disorder since I was 14 years old. Binged and purged. Starved myself. Took diet pills. • Tried EVERY single diet there is. Sound familiar? Jenny Kent’s story is amazing and one I know many of us can relate to! "UNEXPLAINED SYMPTOMS. They ruled my life. That's how it all started for me. The need for a nap was constant. I couldn't get the baby weight off even though Wyn was 3 years old. I spent too much time in the bathroom with too little results (if you get what I mean.) I felt nauseous A LOT. Strict diets worked, but I couldn't stick to them forever. My body felt like it was breaking down. Doctors ran test after test & found NOTHING wrong They told me..."You're a mom, get used to it." Or "You're stressed and depressed." Guess what???? You're dang straight I was stressed & depressed---I FELT TERRIBLE and I was too young to feel this way!!!! That would make anyone stressed & depressed. Thanks to being too vain to show up to the next swimsuit season in a mumu, I went on the search for weight loss & instead found something that many doctors had missed----health from the inside out. A different approach. No one had ever spoken to me about the value of magnesium, proper balance of gut microorganisms, stable blood sugar, and vitamins that actually absorb into the body. For years they had missed something so simple, and what I THOUGHT was just a weight loss product was what finally made me FEEL GOOD. My not-so-little little sister is one of my biggest “WHYS”💕 ✨ Hey people 👋🏼 I’ve been MIA for a bit I left the big city of Winnipeg and moved back home to the country! (I love the country but also don’t mind the city- I’m constantly torn between if I’m a “city girl” or “country girl” anyone else resonate?!” 😆) ✨ Anywhoooo, this is my baby sister, Abby. I haven’t seen her since Christmas and OMG SHE’S ALMOST AS TALL AS ME. 😫 She’s the light of my life and one of my biggest reasons why I talk about the things I talk about and do the things I do. ✨ She’s almost at the age where I was one my world started crumbling down. When I started to viscously compare myself to my friends and the girls on Instagram. When I started to worrying about getting fat. When everything revolved around my body and the way I looked. Your recovery body is going to look different from the body you had in the depths of your eating disorder. And it can suck to realize that the body you had then and the lifestyle you have now (or once you’re fully recovered) are completely incompatible. . 🌼Sure, someone else may be able to maintain the body you wanted without engaging in disordered eating, but if you had to restrict/overexercise to get there, then that’s not what your body is supposed to look like. Thats a hard pill to swallow. I get it. . But it’s CRUCIAL to recovery to realize that: . . 🙅‍♀️Your sick body + A truly recovered lifestyle = Impossible . . 🌼Your recovered body will look different from your sick body, and it might look different than what you have in mind. . 🌼But once you are fully recovered, you WILL NOT wish to go back. You WILL realize how much life you were missing out on and how the sacrifices ED made you make were not in a million years worth it. . . I think one of the most common mistakes people make when they are on vacation is completely skipping their workouts. I may be going off the rails with food, but I don’t want to lose the foundation of fitness I have worked so hard to build— it’s too hard to get it back! 💪🏽 Just because you’re traveling doesn’t mean you don’t find a way to get it done. One thing I love about our programs is they have given me a foundation I can take anywhere, and the tools to do it with our on demand workouts. I think sometimes we do this funny thing where we say “well I don’t want the eating disorder again—that was terrible—but you know, I just wish my body still looked like it did then...” . It’s as if our brains are like: . . 🙅‍♀️Eating disorder: bad . 🤷‍♀️Body I had when I was sick: idk I miss it?? . Whenever I find myself thinking this way, I take a minute—or five, or ten—and think VERY SERIOUSLY about what it was like to be caught in ED’s arms. Keeping a daily tally of everything I ate. Being aware of what everyone else around me was eating. Knowing what I was going to eat every day and not being allowed to deviate from that plan. Forcing myself to work out, every day, and do the same thing no matter how tired I was or how much I needed rest. Thinking that an entire day was ruined if I didn’t eat “right.” . . My 80 day journey is COMPLETE and I’m SOO excited to share my results 🎉🎉 . Overall I lost 5.2 lbs and 11 inches...mostly in my thighs, waist and chest (go figure 🤣)! And while I’m SO proud of my results and dedication to this program, it was hard to not get caught up in the “slow” weight loss. When I was 223 lbs, the weight came off quicker so when I see 1-2lbs lost after a month, it can be a frustrating mind game...right?! I’m sure many of you have felt that way at some point!! ✋🏻 . But thankfully, with the support of my FitFam and our virtual gym ladies, I’ve been able to change my relationship with the scale! Instead of getting frustrated with the number on the scale, I focused on increasing my weights each week, progressing to doing full pushups again & mastering really complex moves without needing to modify! So even though I didn’t drop bigger numbers, I’m celebrating that my clothes fit better, I dropped another pant size, my energy is up, my muscle definition is coming back and I repaired my core from pregnancy! I’d say, these are WAY more significant than hitting my pre-pregnancy weight goal. And honestly, just completing an intense program like this, without missing a workout is a HUGE win for me 🙌🏻 . Just remember, the scale isn’t the only tool to measure success! If I wouldn’t have taken these pictures and measurements, I’d probably be frustrated but instead I’m celebrating because I FEEL STRONG 💪🏻 . And you can too!! I’d love to be a part of your journey! This program changed my life and i want to share it with you!! 80 days from now we will be in the middle of summer...just think where you could be if you started NOW?!?! 🤷🏼‍♀️ .
