ROW TIPS FOR BACK GROWTH!! 🦍 - 1️⃣ I notice a lot of people having trouble with back development and it’s because they aren’t targeting the lat properly - 2️⃣ notice I’m not rowing up high but more towards my back pockets. That’s the cue I usually tell people. 2017-2020, on the left is the day after I first stepped foot into a gym, after months of push ups and pull ups and no discipline, I decided to go get myself a membership and start trying to pack on some size with no idea what I was doing, what exercises to do, what to eat etc... I was about 130lbs. On the right is a few weeks ago after my first quarantine workout doing the same exact exercises as 3 years ago. 190 lbs. Gotta say I’m missing the gym a lot. RESET... Resetting after each deadlift is a huge gain in your 1 RM. This is due in part over your 1 rep max (RM) being a single rep pull without momentum. Yes there is some gains and times where touch n goes should be utilized but preparing for a meet or max day coming up then you should train as you’ll lift. Deadlifts are very taxing on the body as there is a ton of muscles being activated during the lift (forearms, biceps, shoulders, upper/lower back, hamstrings, quads, calf’s) especially lifting at a high 1RM percentage so programming is dependent on the goals of a client. Shown here is a nice medium percentage of my 1RM of 290 working on form and explosion. As is most lifts they need to be performed with explosion and a controlled eccentric to stimulate multiple muscle fibers. Hitting the Type IIb is when a set is taken to failure. 🚨BACK DAY WORKOUT🚨 Trust me, you’ll want to save this one 👀 • • If your goal is to be built like a @doritos chip, this one is for you. This was one of the best back days I’ve had in awhile, and I really attribute that to focusing on putting in more volume over heavy weight. • • ▫️Wide-grip last pull-downs (2 warmup sets, 3x12, burnout) ▫️Chest-supported DB Dow (4x12) ▫️Lat pull-down variation (not sure what to call this one, but I saw it on @stevekuclo profile and gave it a try and it felt GREAT, so I went 3x12 extra slow) ▫️Another row variation from @stevekuclo , went light and it felt good as well (4x12, last set did 10 reps and 5 partials) ▫️Cable rope pull-throughs (4x16) • • • Video creds to @tuckercarver_15 , be caught some of the shreds that are sneaking in 👀 #backseat #backworkout #bodybuilder #doritoback #backgains #workout #fitness #gym

PR 🚨 385lb on deadlift 🔥🔥 This pull felt so damn crazy and I went into the gym feeling so damn strong. Insane back and bicep workout. I feel confident enough to pull something close to 405 in the next couple of back days 😈. The bulk is real 💪🔥

Definitely feel like the back can get more wider, and built, but at the same time not as fatty, but more toned. I been increasing weight on pull downs, lat push downs,traps, lower back as well and rear delts. PT Pauly (@paulsabatini_pt) is back again with Episode 10 of our ‘How To’ series. In this episode, Pauly shows us how to correctly perform an exercise that is commonly mistaken for purely a back exercise, a Rack Pull. Follow this simple video to tighten up on your form on this amazing exercise. A few things to keep in mind when performing this exercise... ✅ Place an appropriate amount of weight on the barbell. ✅ Place feet on a step so that you’re knees are in line with the 2 safety bars. ✅ Hinge over to a ‘L’ position and make sure the barbell is against your legs. ✅ Engage the Hammies and Glutes and drive through these muscles to bring your body up straight. At the top of the movement, squeeze your arms into your Lats to activate your back. ✅ Hinge back over and drag the barbell down your legs back into the starting position. ❌ Don’t bounce your reps, always set the barbell down and reset your position before attempting another rep. ❌ Don’t pull with your lower back. ⚠️ RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHTS AFTER USE! One thing I’ve learned from not only experimenting myself, but by listening to people who have been training for decades is that “weight” is not the most important aspect of training. The two things I focus on during all my workouts are: Range of Motion & Mind/Muscle Connection. Once you have these two, you will be able to benefit from using heavier weight. You finding THE perfect parking spot. Strolling into the gym with your favorite tunes 🎶 blasting through your headphones. Hitting a bunch of bench press PR’s. Chatting with the brodies. Talking to your gym crush 😉. ⁣ ⁣ 2. When you’re about to attempt a personal record, visualize in even GREATER detail. How many steps do you take before approaching the deadlift bar? How do your palms feel gripping against the metal linings? How you feel afraid of shitting your pants because you ate too much Taco Bell last night 😵. Well, maybe not that. Then clear the noise. Empty your mind. Execute.⁣ ⁣ 3. Really believe and repeat to yourself that you’re growing when you’re finished.
