I’m doing 100 days of hot yoga! If anyone in the ig world would like to join in a challenge with me! 100 days of yoga and some yin in there too. I did it last year and the changes physically & mentally & in my life were significant! I noticed tonight how much easier I can twist on the floor! Knees one way, body the other way, hips lined up..a while ago I needed blocks and support! Blocks are great though ❤️ use the yoga furniture to help you with poses! My lil mat island always has blocks & a bolster & a blanket! This class tonight was tough! Slow plank through chaturanga! Repeat repeat. Super slow. Each workout in this new program has three one minute exercises he calls 'transformers'. The last one today was this... burpee squat hop thing. Loved it! Okay so you see a bunch of Instagram workout videos but have you ever wondered HOW 🤦🏻‍♀️😫they get into those crazy weird positions! 🙄⁣ ⁣ Here's some exercises that I personally struggled getting comfortable with 👇🏻😀⁣ ⁣ 🚨Barbell Hip Thrust:⁣ Look for a bar, put it in a place where there's enough space, grab a bench or a box whichever is fine, grab a yoga mat or a barbell pad. Set up the Bar close to the bench, Put the weight you wanna start off with, Move the bar forward in front of you just enough for you to get under it, fold the mat around the bar, position your feet comfortable and shoulder blades on the bench, not your whole back, hands on bar (top or bottom). Push up with your glutes and pause for 2 sec at the top and come down.⁣ ⁣ 🚨Barbell Squats: ⁣ If someone left weight on the bar 😒take it off, then position the bar to your height without any weight on it before you put your weight(mistake i've made..😅). Now you put the weight on it, get under the bar position the bar behind your neck on your shoulders, hands gripped on the bar, make sure on to squeeze the bar to tight. Start walking back from the rack, get your feet in the position at whichever type of squat you're going to perform, neck neutral to spine, inhale before going down, and exhale halfway going up and repeat. ⁣ ⁣ 🚨Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squat:⁣ Find a bench, grab some weights(dumbbells for demo). Put the one dumbbell on the floor on the next to your sides. NOW without the weight get in a position in front of the bench that's comfortable for you to put squat in and get a full range of motion without hurting yourself. Your foot can be either in a dorsiflexed position or plantar flexion whichever is more comfortable. Once your got the position. ⁣ NOW grab the weight and begin. You should put your weight in your front heel, driving the body up with the heel and feeling it in your legs and glutes🍑. ⁣

Welcome the 🔥 burn. Who does that?? My trainer, Shaun T, repeated that in today’s workout and I had a few choice words for him 😡. My legs were KILLING me and I was a complete sweat ball. And it was only a 20 minute workout! Honestly, I worried going into this program that it wasn’t going to be enough of a workout to help me reach my health goals this winter. 6 weeks of 20 minute workouts using a step 😂. I have gained ten pounds over the last year and some bad habits when it comes to stress eating and giving up when things get tough. After day 3 though, I am no longer worried about this program. In three days, I have lost 1.5 pounds and already feel the bloat in my midsection going down. I feel a new energy that is carrying me through my days and that is priceless. Teaching an extended OMAAM complex for a 1:45 sec oblique assassination to one of my big boys. Strong as three Ox when we started in everything but his core. Sometimes you can feel so stressed because of all of the things on your to-do list that you can barely roll out of bed to do them. The overwhelm is just too much, right?
