This is why I love flexible dieting - I can eat whatever I want whilst still achieving my fitness goals- I follow the 80/20 approach in order to get my macros and micronutrients in. This is why I also love intermittent fasting because this was all consumed last night (shrimp burrito bowl 🍚, chicken wrap with high protein wrap @musclefooduk and @waldenfarmsinternational @waldenfarmsuk zero calorie honey Dijon mustard πŸ‘ŒπŸ½) plus a bowl of noodles left over from the day before and a yummy vanilla chocolate 🍫 protein shake which isn't pictured. Dieting doesn't have to be boring and you certainly don't have to starve to attain your goals

Is weight training going to make me bulky? I am not sure if you have noticed but in most of my posts about fat loss I very rarely talk about WEIGHT LOSS and that is because FAT LOSS and WEIGHT LOSS are two very different things. Losing weight refers to many different things. Yes, one of those things is fat, but it also includes muscle, fluids, and other components of your lean body mass. The last thing we want to lose when trying to lose fat is lean tissue, which in simple words means muscle. Most people look at muscle in a way of looking good, however lean muscle tissue, which EVERYONE has in different ratios is key for many physically and physiological outcomes which are very important for overall health. So what can we do to help lose fat and keep our lean tissue (MUSCLE). LIFT WEIGHTS To lose fat as I have mentioned in the past you need to be in a calorie deficit, a great way to burn those calories is training with weights. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn, muscle requires more energy to maintain, which means when you seating doing nothing your body will be burning a lot more calories. Building muscle helps you look leaner and more toned. There is this misconception that lifting weights will make you bulky, especially in the female community BUT TRUST me that is not the case, if you are looking to get toned then you must lift weights. Your nutrition will ultimately determine how much weight you will lose but the type of exercise you do will determine the TYPE of wait you will lose. The question is, do you want to lose weight mainly from fat or are you also happy to lose weight from muscle? As explained above muscle is key, so in my humble opinion you must do your best to keep as much muscle as possible and build new muscle as much as possible. Don’t be afraid to train with weights, cardio is a great tool but don’t focus solely on that.
