Being a certain size won’t ever make you happy- but being healthy will.... I used to spend a lot of my time fixated on losing weight and dropping a size. I felt like I would be happy once I reached (insert weight/size here)... because I had been my “happiest” when I was smaller. I wrongly attributed my happiness to that and not to my mental and physical health from before- and while these seemingly shallow goals helped me to get started, I quickly realized that making progress toward them wasn’t making me happier. What finally made me start to be happier was when I stopped judging myself for where I was starting from and started focusing on what I really thought I could do that would make me even more happy- and that required me to make a better relationship with food and with fitness. I had learn to show more love to myself by taking better care of me again- this time for the right reasons. I had to fall in love with my health itself and not with what I thought I should look like. This lifestyle I live now means so much more to me than any size tag in a pair of pants or any number on that scale. This lifestyle enables me to thrive on night shift, it gives me more energy for running around with my dog, it makes me a better wife because it raises my confidence and gives me an outlet for my anxiety and any frustration I have. It makes me feel STRONG and BRAVE. It has become sooo much more to me than the outward physical appearance of me. What’s something you’ve had to overcome to be your healthiest you?

It’s SO cold in DC today so I was feeling some comfort food for dinner. Made this delicious Creamy Spaghetti Squash with Ricotta and Spinach from the @ww app. I added chicken sausage and with my cheeses, it was 4SP for 1/6 of the pan. It tastes so creamy and cheesy! Picture this beauty of a shakeo that I’ll admit, I never miss a day & if it’s not a shake I’m consuming in other forms that taste just as great (aka energy balls, protein bars, cheesecake) is SO packed full of Superman dense nutrients that my bodies needs but also majority of the time is missing. ⠀ ⠀ So why is it that whenever people seem interested in how My digestion is healing, my energy to get up everyday and workout plus work 6 days a week and not binge eat crap food give me this reply...⠀ 1. I can get something similar for cheaper! ⠀ ⠀ BUT 👏 IT👏IS👏NOT👏JUST👏A👏SHAKE👏⠀ (Ok, I’m better for getting that off my chest) ⠀ ⠀ I say this with conviction because it has and did SAVED my life!! ⠀ ⠀ It’s not just protein and it’s not just superfood ⠀ ⠀ It is a sustainable mixed protein with over 70 superfoods AND a variety of nutrients, including antioxidants, fiber, digestive enzymes, pre- and probiotics, vitamins, and minerals.⠀ ⠀ So I don’t just drink one because I’m a coach and my company sells it. ⠀ ⠀ I drink one every day because my BODY IS BETTER FOR IT❤️💃⠀ ⠀ So why? You have those days where you set your alarm, get up at 5:30 am, get in your workout and shower all before your kids get up. And because of that you’re more productive and ready to go for the day. Or... You have those day where you forget to switch your alarm back to 5:30, you wake up to the baby at 6:45, get diaper changed, milk poured, and lunches made all before you start your workout. Only to get interrupted because you have to take your oldest to middle school, come back and finish the last 5 minutes of workout. Then you have to take the the younger ones to school before you get showered and get the kitchen cleaned up all before the people who are coming for a cake decorating class come over before 10. You choose, either way, it works, right??? 🤷‍♀️

Looks like a normal bowl of oats. I have oats every day for breakfast. The difference? This one scared the shit out of me. I’ve always always always cooked my porridge in a separate pot to my bfs so that I knew exactly how much I put in and ate etc. I didn’t care that it meant washing up 2 pots. I’ve done this for years and it never struck me as a problem until I recently realised that I actually do it out of fear / need to control. Things I challenged with this breakfast today: • I cooked mine and my bf’s oats in the same pot • I didn’t measure anything • I put banana instead of berries on top (always had berries because less calories. Banana is too much carbs with oats) • I added honey. Empty calories in my ED mind. Always drizzled honey onto my bfs oats but I wouldn’t do it for mine • I had dried fruit in it. My Bf always has sultanas and dried cranberries in his oats. I never have because of calories and sugar and used that as my excuse as to why I wouldn’t make mine in the same pot...But sultanas in oats is so delicious!!! • I couldn’t tell how much i was pouring into my bowl out of the pot. Was it half? 1/3? What if I got more sultanas in mine than his??? Should I split it evenly between us or does he need more than me?? But I just poured it out roughly and didn’t compare the bowls. I challenged ALL of this today and I’m so damn proud. It was tasty af too 🤤🍯🥜🥣🍌

This is all a mental game. And this is why it works: I am not doing this temporarily, I’m making changes to creat a different lifestyle. Because, hello!!! The last way I lived day-to-day isn’t working. I can’t make changes now only to go back to my old way of eating and non-existence workouts later. Each small decision I make, is about how I want to make changes to create a happy, healthier me. (The weight removal is just an added bonus.) So no, I’m not on a diet. I’m changing the way my family and I eat so that we are overall healthier.

Hi! Happy Thursday, y’all! . This is what I’ve been up to lately, mixed with yoga, parenting and training for my first full marathon! The first picture is the mala I was working on in my time lapse video in the second slide. 🕺🏼 . The holiday season has been fairly relaxed for us in my house but all of the other craziness swirling around is causing major stress! The combination of wondering if I’m ready for a marathon, trying to avoid the winter cooties, and a puppy who has decided potty training is stupid after 7 months of no accidents has been super fun. (Just to name a few). 😂 . I’m thankful for running and making malas, two polar opposite ends of the spectrum but my balancing energies. MORE THAN WEIGHT LOSS 💭 I started my page as a way of keeping myself accountable and motivated to improve my health, it’s not all been plain sailing I had a few months in the middle of the year were I slipped back into old habits and gained weight back my health mentally and physically deteriorated. But having my page to look back on really helped and encouraged me to restart. And it’s never to late to want a better life for yourself you’ve just got to want it for the right reasons and have the right mindset.. We can’t change our problems with the mindset we created them!!
