They are ALWAYS watching! . Reason 982 I work out daily! 😜And eat healthy foods that fuel my body and get me to my goals! . I want my kids 👭to see 👀me lead by example! . How can I ask them to eat their veggies🍆 if I don't do it? . How can I ask them to be their best selves♥️ if I am not striving to be my best self? . How can I create a drive in them to work hard for what they want of I am not showing them how? . It's not possible...😱 It's even hypocritical to ask things of them that we won't do ourselves! . This is so important to remember! I lost a lot of progress this year, not going to the gym and eating whatever the fuck I wanted. I packed on 15lbs of fat 😑 Basically back to where I started almost 2 years ago and it seems to be a lot slower to transform this time. Does being 2 years older really make a difference? Medication? Stress? Who knows but I'm glad I kept pushing through... I still have a ways to go but I love that i'm finally seeing those changes I've been working so hard for. Its funny how we all try to find someone to blame for the things that go wrong in our lives! . Why did we lose that game? It was so and sos fault! Or the reason we didn't do what we said we were gonna do! . It's easy to find blame with someone else instead of pointing the finger at ourselves and getting really honest about our own blame! . It's the same thing when we make excuses as to why we CANT do something!! Ex. I can't workout cause my kids are in the way! ....... To which I call BS (in a loving but stop lying to yourself way) . There are hundreds of "reasons" I hear as to why someone will put off their own health and well being!..... And most of them are crap!! . I would rather hear.... No I just am not ready, or I don't want to! Instead of a fake list of things that are stopping you!! . I will give you the TRUE list of people stopping you from taking control of your life: 1) YOU..... The end! . YOU are the ONLY ONE stopping you. . YOUR self limiting beliefs about your worth! YOUR idea that taking time for you is selfish. YOUR history of quitting before you can see the results! YOUR inability to commit to something that could CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER! . Today I said, “you can do this” SOO many times during my workout. • • • It’s all too easy to give up on ourselves. It’s either too hard, too easy, taking too long, and many other excuses I know I tell myself! But today I told myself “you can do this” and let me tell you what, I did! I started and finished strong! • • When you tell yourself something multiple times that’s what you begin to think. Positive or negative. In the past I would say “I can’t do this” and because of that, I couldn’t. Giving myself all the vibes and good feels worked! #transformationTuesday Sooooo, this time last year, I was at a Convention with my work crew in Puerto Rico and kind of just realllllly getting serious (again) about my health/fitness. I was determined to NOT fall off just because I was in travel status. I pretty much LIVE in travel status so that could NEVER be my reason to delay my start. My goal was simply to beat my boss in our Fitbit challenges (because he is seriously competitive), work out in my hotel room, eat reasonably despite the Caribbean pleasures and stay hydrated. I WON that trip and I have been winning ever since. Has it been perfect? Heck no. But I ain’t quittin’ this time. I want to acknowledge a few issues and thoughts that I know many guys — especially fathers — struggle with. • Dads: I hear you.👂🏼 • I get that your days are long and often physically, emotionally, and mentally draining — that you have a job, a commute, a life outside of work that includes a spouse or partner, kids, hobbies, and other responsibilities. 😩 • I understand some days you struggle to simply survive the wave of pressure and temptations that come your way — that you just want to sink into a comfortable chair and zone out. 🤯 • I get that you feel like taking care of yourself will take you away from those you love, and might even seem selfish.🙅🏻‍♂️ • I get that many of you feel like you’ve neglected your health and fitness and made other people and things a priority for so long that to focus on it now feels unattainable.😒 • I totally understand that for so many of us, food is comfort. Food is recreation. Food is a source of pleasure. 🍔🍟🍕🍩🍨 • I get that working out daily seems impossible with your schedule and commitments. I had an extra busy day today so I slacked a little on cooking and photos! So here is a throwback to my first and only trip to Europe! I was getting 15,000-20,000 steps in everyday just exploring!! Too bad I can’t travel much 😂😂 it was fun and great exercise!! ....But I guess I can make do with beautiful local parks until I actually establish my career haha! Anyway, today was a good day! I ate pretty healthy...yogurt and high-protein granola, some fruit, trail mix, and another homemade chicken gyro! My boyfriend also surprised me with a bubble tea which was DELICIOUS although not the healthiest 😂😍 anyway, starting tomorrow I’m going to cut down on treats a little for a little while because I had SO many this past week with family visiting and unintentionally started bulking!😂 I DEFINITELY don’t mind and am super thrilled with the past week, but I have noticed that I feel a little more tired this week so I want to make sure I jump right back into a more balanced diet!! Doesn’t mean I’m cutting out treats (don’t think I could ever do that!!) but I am going to go back to my normal portion sizes so I can start feeling a little more energized :) I also slacked on water this past week so I bet that is a contributing factor! I started my 3-day cleanse YESTERDAY. ☺️ I had to wait until my mind and LIFE were steady enough to reallllllllly do it and do it “right”. This doesn’t look like any cleanse I have ever done before. I am proud of my hard work, i can easily say that. However, I can't easily say that losing weight and toning up has made me less insecure. This is what i hoped would happen. Girl gets the body, she gets the confidence too, WRONG. I love my little muscles, and i think being strong is cool but unfortunately, I am still just as insecure as the girl in the other 2 photos, and that's when it hit me. Making changes about the way you feel comes from making changes on the inside. No body, or hairstyle, or new clothes brings long term happiness, that stuff comes from within, which is something I hope to learn how to tap into soon, because feeling insecure is exhausting. #learning #happiness #findingfitness #bodypositive #fitnessjourney

This past week group of 50 women and I completed an 8 week program. We all committed to adjusting our scheduled to fit in time to take care of ourselves. We worked out 4 times per week for about 35 minutes each time. Yes I lost inches and some weight, but what I gained is so much more! I gained confidence that at a gal in her 40s can lift heavy. I showed my children that you need to make time to take care of your self. I showed my children that it is fun to exercise and transform your body. I reversed aging by building muscle. I can actually do some pushups like the boys :) I belong to a community of women lifting each other up and encouraging everyone to just keep going! I am so excited about how this program made me feel and how easily I could fit it into my busy, single mom schedule! I am looking forward to repeating it. If you find that you are constantly saying "I don't have time", "I am tired", "One day..." then we should chat. I was just 5 days into my 80-day fitness challenge when my best friend’s birthday came around. Her hubby invited me to Pappadeaux and I couldn’t say no because of how special these folks are to me. So I went. I had made a promise to myself that if I was gonna screw up, it wouldn’t be before I gave myself a real shot at results so I had salad and UNSWEETENED tea. 😬 That challenge was one of the best things I’ve committed to this year as it set me up mentally and physically to go after several other items on my vision board. R380DO 20:80 Cardio Flow. I wanted to see some progression. Wow. My flubby belly is noticeably improved. 4 children and 40 years old. I have always been very active and energetic, but to SEE the difference over time is surprising. I have lost about 30 lbs total and went down in pant sizes since starting in October 2017. I have also improved my running speed, strength, and stamina. I am eating even better than I used to and have had so many surprising benefits that I often forget or take them for granted. Today I threw together a random workout half way through the day because it was slowly slipping away and I needed to get it done before I ran out of time and motivation. I feel like I’ve been a little “preachy” these days with some of my posts and podcast episodes, and that’s not what I want to be about. • There already are too many know-it-alls and “[email protected]&$ your excuses” types of people in the fitness world, and I don’t want any part of that. • I genuinely want to lift up and inspire other dads to keep pushing forward in their fitness journey, no matter where they’re at, and no matter what circumstances they face. • And it starts with empathy. • I don’t want to be dismissive of anyone’s reasons for not working out, exercising, or eating healthy. I want to understand why men — dads, especially — feel the way they do and act the way they do, acknowledge those reasons, and help them figure out ways to overcome whatever is holding them back. And no amount of me or anyone else pointing the finger or getting “fitness preachy” is going to do a bit of good. • Being empathetic to someone’s “excuse” doesn’t mean that I have to agree with it. Week 8 I am coming at ya! I used to be a Cardio girl! I loved all things cardio! I felt like the more sweat and huffed and puffed, the more I would transform. Well the last 7 weeks I have been doing a program that incorporates quite a bit of weight lifting and some HIIT. Now I am liking the weight lifting more than the cardio. Building muscle really transforms your shape and you burn more calories at rest...DOUBLE Bonus! Plus I am seeing some muscles i have never seen on my body before! It may not seem big to you, but for me that is a big deal. I really owe a lot of my endurance to my accountability group and those doing it with me. it is always easier to do it along with someone rather than going at it alone! My first attempt at leg day since last week before i sprained my ankle. This was great! No pain in my foot at all, but I tailored the workout to moves I could do without a lot of tension or stabilizing on one foot and that helped a lot. We just did a set of 50 and a set of 30 of each because of time but it still burned! Soooo...I sprained my ankle last week. What a huge bummer and quite a set back. I obeyed my orders to take it slow and be nice to it, so I had the laziest week of my life! I used to be a soda EVERY day kinda girl! It was HARD to make a change when I didn’t want to. * * * I thought “can’t this just be my thing?” Some people smoke and some drink. We all have that weakness for something right? Mine is soda, or was! * * * After my second son was born I wanted to become healthier and thought it was finally time. The thing is, I knew it was “bad” for me. Especially on a daily basis. So I started the process. And I say process because it was HARD for me. After a few weeks it became easier. There were days it happened out of habit, but for the most part I tried to avoid it as much as possible. * * I started the KETO diet when I wanted to shed my baby weight. And it changed. I didn’t crave it, I didn’t think about it. It finally became easy for me! Soda just wasn’t an option and I didn’t want it to be. I’m still a KETO newbie, but am learning so much about different foods and options. I’ve talked about being a tutor before, but I want to mention it again. I tutored general chemistry and organic chemistry for 3 years in undergrad. I used to hate tutoring. I dreaded walking into that library knowing how many long hours I had ahead of me talking about chemistry... and every night after HELPING my peers I walked away so happy & fulfilled. It felt so incredibly good walking away at the end of the night knowing I just made my tutee’s life so much easier because I took the time to explain a concept to them in a way they haven’t heard it said before... to help them finish an assignment they struggled to understand for HOURS... to make them LAUGH & not stress out over chemistry... to make a new friend. I poured my heart into this job. But I graduated. And I no longer tutor. I lost that outlet I used to have where I could help someone. Until I dived into being a health & fitness coach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have the opportunity to help people again. To make new friendships. To help women fall in love with who they are RIGHT NOW. To help women dream BIG. To live life to the fullest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The reward of connecting with women searching for an answer to their problems is unbelievably large... and it fills you with such JOY. So you all know I jumped back in my 80 day challenge with lots of lovely, like-minded ladies for support and motivation. But I gotta be honest. Life keeps happening and the old me keeps letting work, kids, chores, bills, friends and family throw me off my game. However, I have been consistent with one thing: my superfood shakes. I mean, that’s the least I can do, right? Even though I am beyond busy, I still gotta eat, right? I may not get to my workout and I may not go to bed on time and I may not get all of my water or steps in, but THE LEAST I can do is cram 70 superfoods from all across the globe into my blender and ‘turn up’. Phase 1 of my challenge is almost over and I took a moment to try and SEE some results... Refusing to get on the scale, I stared at myself for a while. I saw a cute enough girl who’s clothes are way more spacious (even after breaking up with my girdle). 😂 My mid-section is still shrinking - I think I see hips, but I will show you those later because that’s not my point. 😉 But here’s what I FELT! ✅ my ENERGY is way up and CONSISTENT throughout the day ✅ my mood is “even” 😃 ✅ my muscles are firm - you may not see them, but I FEEL them and last but not least... ✅ Look at that smile! Is that CONFIDENCE I see 👀 Look! Many of you have asked about my daily shakes. Some of you want one that tastes “good”. It’s gotta be “high protein”, all- natural.... I get it - and agree!
