Ok, you see that? You see it? The vein? On my leg? Yeah I see it too 👀🙏🏼😁 _ THIS is the where the fun (and struggle) really does begin. Because this weekend I will be shaving my legs. 😆 _ Nah for real, because in the next few weeks we enter true lean territory. Which is both exciting and fucking hard work. Anyway... _ You’ll know if you’ve followed or heard any of my posts/moaning recently that I’ve had to hold training lower body ‘push’ movements. A couple months ago having gotten my quads stronger than ever, I felt my left knee tendon go on the leg press. A few weeks later I had a week snowboarding, and then I was fully aware that I’d very much need my knee after the holiday for cardio. 🏂 _ So I had to be smart. I’m pretty lucky that I won’t be having my legs out on stage because they’re likely to have lost at very least some fullness over the last few weeks, but I couldn’t risk aggravating the knee further. So what did I do? _ Focussed on glutes and hammies, avoiding movements that required hinging at the knee whilst cracking on with my low intensity cardio and step counts. 🤟🏽 _ Be smart with your body my friends. Look further than the next rep, set, session, cycle and be aware of what you need to prioritise. 🌪 at Gymbox Victoria

The two pictures are fairly self-explanatory. Now, there are of course different foods that carry more calories per gram, which are going to be more beneficial for someone trying to gain weight. For example, people struggling to put on weight are encouraged to eat more peanut butter, olive oil, egg yokes as they are fat sources which carry 9 calories per gram, being the most caloric dense foods you can eat, disregarding fast food and other highly processed foods of course. Just like the in the opposite direction regarding fat loss, one can aim for foods that are lower in calories and still satiating and filling. The point of the two photos is not to specifically point out these exact foods but to highlight that whether we are trying to lose weight or gain weight, it will come down to several factors but the primary factor being the amounts, or simply the calories. You can gain weight from eating mainly clean, healthy foods, I am testament to that myself. The flip side is that you can also lose weight while eating healthy food and certain amounts of foods that would not fit the generic healthy category. I am not an advocate of nutrient lacking flexible dieting and I firmly believe your diet should consist for the most part of real, fresh, nutrient dense foods whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight. Try to not categorise foods as ‘fattening’ or ‘slimming’ or ‘good’ or ‘bad’ as this can create an unnecessary barrier with different foods. It is of course vital to be aware of what foods one should generally aim for and which ones should be consumed in moderation. Lots of factors matter, but most importantly when talking from a weight gain or weight loss standpoint, calories are the most influential factor. #calories #diet

⚫️ MINDFULNESS ⚫️ _ A l’heure où le souhait de tous est d’améliorer ses performances physiques, nombreux sont ceux qui délaissent le travail mental alors que c’est ce pilier qui est susceptible de faire la différence, d’atteindre des résultats impressionnants. C’est une VRAIE arme à travailler, totalement personnalisable, à façonner soi même. _ Vous connaissez sûrement les 3 piliers de là performances, à savoir : ➡️ L’aspect physique : force, puissance, endurance, vitesse ➡️ L’aspect technique : propre à sa discipline ➡️ L’aspect mental : engagement, confiance, relaxation, concentration, imagerie, contrôle des émotions _ ➡️ La préparation mentale, c’est quoi ? C’est tout un travail fait en amont de l’entraînement qui vise à crée un contexte favorable pour ensuite s’investir plus efficacement physiquement. Le processus de co-construction est long, et on note plus de 10 clés d’habilité mentale. Le sujet est vaste, très vaste, il existe autant de plan d’entraînement mental que de sportifs ! 😅 _ ➡️ Mes 3 exercices/outils simples pour commencer à forger son mental : 1. Apprendre à se relâcher : utiliser des techniques de respiration. Exemple : inspiration de 3 secondes par le nez, gonfler le ventre puis la poitrine, bloquer les épaules et expirer 6 secondes par la bouche, en relâchant épaules et bras. Répéter l’exercice 3 à 6 fois. 2. Projeter ses performances grâce à l’imagerie mentale : utiliser 3 mots positifs qui vont déterminer une compétition ou un entraînement. Intégrer ces 3 mots en imaginant ce moment, cette réussite. Ce travail peut succéder au travail de respiration et durer entre 5 et 10 minutes. 3. La programmation neuro-linguistique (PNL) : grand outil de la préparation mentale !
