#throwbackthursday — The doctor came to my bed side before surgery and had to read all the things that could go wrong. All the things that I may never be able to do again. I asked him to stop, as the document was 2 pages long, but he said he had to go through it for legal reasons. I laid there fighting back tears, fearful and hope was a fleeting thought. — So once he left, I was on my my own, not knowing if this operation would be successful. I remember laying there and my family had left and I just closed my eyes wishing that this had never happened to me. It’s strange cos in that moment, I realized that, I’m never gonna change the past, I can’t change what happened yesterday and I can’t change what happens back in January. It’s been tough mentally and physically not just for me but those I love. I know I can’t always control or change the situation, but I can change my attitude. — I can’t even begin to describe the fear I felt at this time, I believe it was so scary and nerve racking as I had no control. I had no real understanding of how big this was... I literally had no idea what the out come would be. — You hope that it goes well and that you get back to normal life. However, being with stroke survivors I saw a side of humanity that people don’t really see. The cost on the person as they lose part of themselves but also seeing those around them struggling to deal with the effects. — I feel so lucky that everything went well and I’m recovering. I’m messaged daily by stroke survivors or their loved one asking me questions about the topic and my experience surrounding this. It’s tough and touching at the same time. I’m no real expert but the more I talk to people the better equipped I am to see the struggle people face but their determination to stay strong and battle their symptoms day by day. — If I can overcome this, I know others can too!

PSA: YOU’LL NEVER MANIFEST THE FUTURE YOU WANT BY COMPLAINING YOUR WAY OUT OF YOUR CURRENT REALITY. . I get it, complaining is WAY easier and takes a lot less of your brain power than you sitting down and finding ways to change your current situation. . But your complaining doesn’t fix your problems, it only creates more of them and creates a vicious cycle. . Why do people choose to complain instead of change? How often do you complain without even realizing it? . Everyone does it, no one is immune from complaining—but there is a vast difference between every once and a while, recognizing it, and then resetting and the “chronic complainer” . Complaining is a great excuse for you to hide behind. But frankly, you shouldn’t be complaining about things you’re unwilling to do anything about. . Do I have your wheels turning? Do you find yourself in a sea of constant complaining? How can you fix it? . Good practices to start with? 1. Go a day without complaining...and every time you find yourself complaining CATCH yourself and replace with something positive! 2. You need to start journaling. Write down the things you are grateful for every morning 3. You should Learn to ADAPT. Maybe you have a stressful work life or home life, etc. Ask yourself “will I be fine regardless?” If your honest answer is yes..suddenly you are able to reset your frame of mind. 4. You need to be more mindful. The past can’t be changed, you worrying about the future is futile, complaining about either of those things is pointless. 5. You should be more assertive—if you’re not happy voice it, make sure your needs are heard and convey it with confidence. 6. You should always move forward. Don’t let obstacles derail you. If you are having self-doubt release those thoughts! Remember that most problems are temporary and fleeting!! . You can be a complainer or you can be an achiever...you can’t do both....choose your path.

*❤️My Favorite Glute Exercise❤️* This is NOT a standard Curtsy lunge. What makes this Curtsy lunge much more difficult is the leg raise and the balance. ✅ Every time you go do on one leg, make sure to sit far back. Make sure you feel your Glutes working. ✅ As you come up raise your leg and really squeeze the glute on the working leg. Maximum contraction and maximum extension make sure that your muscle gets worked fully. ✅ I do 10 repetitions on each leg. But, hey — either way you’re gonna feel this one! ↓ ↓ ↓ ••• (5 Sets of 7-10 reps EACH exercise, resting 30 secs in between) *this video has been sped up 2x.* ••• 🔺Biceps Curls - (arms turned out) 🔺Upright Row 🔺Overhead Press (one arm at a time) 🔺Chest Press in Lunge (one arm at a time 🔺Triceps Overhead Extension ••• ••• You can use any resistance bands for this workout, but I highly recommend this Stroops Fitness band, it’s extremely durable — even Kadyn tried stretching it as far as he could...... and then he let gooo!!! 😭 Wait till the end of the video to see my reaction!
