I wasn’t getting any better.⁣ ⁣ Over the course of six months, I was 17 and in pain from my head to knees.⁣ ⁣ I had previously believed headaches were a mass-agreed-upon lie. I had managed to never have one up until this one day. I had a full blown migraine accompanied with a back spasm. It made me a believer, so to speak.⁣ ⁣ I felt like I was in a fog all the time. I was 5th in my class of hundreds of kids in high school and I couldn’t even drag myself out of bed most days. I had lost my ability to focus. I was truly afraid I was losing my mind.⁣ ⁣ Drugs didn’t help. They just made me sleepier. Massages didn’t help. I always felt bruised afterwards.⁣ ⁣ Acupuncture helped a little with the headaches, but, I needed something more.⁣ ⁣ Even the stuffiest of doctors would flippantly remark, “Well, have you tried yoga?”⁣ ⁣ My first class was very small and for the first time in nearly half a year, I felt like I wasn’t failing or falling short. It didn’t make my pain go away, but, it gave me an option for turning the volume down on the intensity. ⁣ ⁣ This girl? LOVES triangle for back pain.⁣ ⁣ In the end, yoga didn’t cure me (a vegan diet erased my pain… but, it was about 12 years later), but, it proved I wasn’t losing my mind. I was still somewhere beneath the pain and discomfort.⁣ ⁣ I was still in pain when I went on to yoga teacher training back in 2008. I had no intention of teaching - I just wanted to manage my own symptoms. DYI Barbell and hex bar deadlift riser(?) Wasn't sure what to call this a platform? Riser? Purpose:. Elevate the lifter from the ground to create a deeper lift in either the conventional or #Hexbar #deadlfit. It does so by 2 1/2" for a deepr lift simply add plates or to accommodate someone with ankle mobility challenges (like myself) elevate the rear only. I tried to keep in mind 1) It Needs to be safe and durable 2) relatively light so it can be easily moved around 3) As simple as possible with as few parts as possible to ensure that it's again durable and reliable. Based on inputs I received from fitness expert and pro @bwildfit of @elevateathletica the original platform needed to accommodate various feet placement so I doubled the amount of foot space available to achieve this again with keeping in mind the goal of keeping it as light as possible, and reliable. If your results have plateaued and you seem to be at a standstill then try switching things up - keep your body guessing - give it a new challenge to master - try new things🙌🏻 . . . I personally have been frustrated with my lack of muscle gain recently so I've been changing up my program - taking active rest days, well shoot okay let's be honest, taking rest days in general - using progressive overload rather than 'maintenance' lifting - doing more core work (every day is core day folks) - better monitoring my protein intake - getting back to more HIIT cardio and slowly adding some distance running back into my week💪🏻 . . .
