Throughout my pregnancy I’ve had so many emotions in relation to my body. After losing 60lbs, gaining any weight was really hard mentally even though I’ve known it was healthy and for baby. Saturday I heard a song that reminded me of the blessing that is coming and what an honor it is to be carrying this sweet baby girl! I felt like my energy shifted. I felt positive and my happy go lucky self again. The next morning I noticed my silhouette and I melted. I felt so beautiful and strong. 😍 Pregnancy is not for the weak. Weight does not determine value. I have grown so much over the last 9 months and I’m excited for this new season quickly approaching us! 💖 at Medford, Oregon

Starting week 23 with a bang 🏋️‍♂️ today I got up to 125 lbs very comfortably on my squats. Pre pregnancy I was up to 175, can’t wait to get back to that! The second trimester has been really good to me, I’ve had TONS of energy for the gym 💪🏻 I really hope it stays like this in the third but I highly doubt it, so enjoying it while it lasts. Fall down. Get up. • • Fall down. Get..... UP. • • Fall down. Get the fuck up. Again and again and again. • • We will never stop falling down from time to time... the choice to get back up is 100% that, a choice. • • I’ve honestly been in such a bad space I haven’t been able to see how to come back from it... that’s it though. I can’t see it, I just have to do it. I can say even in the depths of darkness the amount of support from individuals that have reached out has blown my mind. Some of the days that I haven’t been able to think straight one of you has shot me dm, text, etc... and it’s made a difference. Thank you, thank you. • • I’m not perfect, I’ve felt like I’m failing and I have indeed failed.... but what I won’t ever do is stay down. I’ve been back on my work outs, haven’t cried in the last 4 days sooo I’m making progress. As with everything I continue to learn more about myself and on the darkest days when I question my existence I continue to fight my way through and see the good around me. • • Prenatal depression is a very real thing and as someone who already struggles with depression it’s been a shit show. Talking about it and letting someone know you aren’t okay is 100% okay... the stigma attached to depression of any kind is a silly one. I don’t have all the answers and definitely don’t have all my shit together but I will tell you if you’re struggling, you are not alone and allowing someone to listen does help. • • We get one life. One shot, one chance to make a lasting impact and in that one shot is a billion small choices to get back up, to keep pushing and be that individual we strive to be. • • So, let’s make this Monday our bitch and choose to keep fighting despite how hopeless or trivial it may feel at times. It does matter. Showing up does make a difference. This is just the beginning after all, isn’t it? I must be about 50 kinds of crazy, but I could NOT do a third day in a row on the treadmill. I don’t know how I used to do it every morning! It was 15 degrees outside, but sunny, and no wind. So I bundled Lucas, and threw extra layers on myself (plus packed extra under the stroller for when I got colder on my walk), and we went outside! Y’all, it was so needed. Outside runs are so therapeutic! Plus, Ruby got to run, which was DEFINITELY needed. A sexy little sandwich for lunch today 😏 Obviously I wanted all the food 😬 my sandwich is Sara Lee light bread (2 sp) with light mayo (1 sp) and Boars Head ovengold turkey (0 sp) and sweet slice ham (1 sp) and Jarlsberg light cheese (1 sp) and a tomato slice. 🦌 Well, I never filled my NH deer tag for the 2018 hunting season. As many times as I went in the midst of my crazy schedule, all I saw were does! Doe after doe after doe. I’m so bummed I’m not walking away this year with a harvest. Honestly, hunting pregnant was harder than I thought it would be. I like to think I’m super women sometimes. Idk why but the walk with carrying gear was awful. And having to go to the bathroom every 30 mins wasn’t ideal either. I used to be able to avoid eating anything and drink very little before my morning sits. But this year, I would get sick if I didn’t. 😒 So glad my team mate got his buck! One angle makes me look 9 months pregnant. Another angle makes me look what I actually am which is 5 months pregnant! Haha. Bump is still small enough that I can squat, deadlift and lunge normally. Although can't use as much weight. I don't want to think about how much muscle and strength I'm losing 😫 but I'm feeling good anyway and glad I'm able to exercise now. At the moment I'm managing 2 to 3 weight sessions (weights and/or bodyweight) per week. The rest of the days are just 30+ minutes of walking. Beginning of 1st trimester to beginning of second trimester. Although my belly is growing I feel that I see more definition in my legs. I haven’t been restricting my diet but I have been keeping it healthy over all. I’ve continued to do normal workouts that I did before my pregnancy and just modifying when I felt like I needed to! I did slow down a bit in my first trimester when I was a little more exhausted but otherwise have stayed consistent working out 5-6 days a week! Here’s to strong mamas everywhere 💪 we got this!

I mean it's the Holidays! Who tries to stick with a nutrition and workout plan?!?! I could have added Chinese takeout, mozzarella sticks, and nachos to the list too!! Instead. I'm going to own it. I enjoyed each bite too much to pretend they didn't happen. And now I'm going to be as good as I can all week long. Cause I know this weekend is another fun filled festive one!!! This whole health and fitness thing; It's about finding your balance, and as long as you aren't hiding in a closet eating an entire package of Oreos, then it's okay!!! I used to pack 2 meals 2 snacks in this bag every day for work. I packed it up while LB sat on the counter or hugged my leg. I’d snap a pic to share with you guys so you knew how I made my meal plan work on the go. Then I’d grab a diaper bag and shuffle LB to preschool and I’d head to my cubicle and work for 8-9 hours. Today, I packed 2 peanut butter sandwiches, yogurt, my shake (that keeps me from nasty prenatals, yuck), and some water. And me and LB met friends at the indoor playground. This isn’t because I was so “lucky” to be able to stay home. It’s because I chose to find a way to make it work for us. So that I can still financially contribute (forreal. I made enough to cover Christmas last week alone). And be home with my kids. If that’s what you want too - HMU. It’s pretty simple - just takes some determination and the right plan.

Since finding out about our little miracle 🤰💕 my workouts have been really sporadic and all over the place 🤦‍♀️. I haven’t been able to really stick to one program after completeing 80DO because of how much I LOVED that program!! 😍 80DO changed my life, and my habits. But unfortunately the program is not pregnancy friendly 😔. Since then, I haven’t been able to find a program that fit my style and that I had enough fun with to complete it day after day! . . But that all changes TODAY! 👊 I think I finally found my new program! The workouts are only 25 minutes a day 😲 and COMPLETELY modifiable for this baby body!! 🙌 Thanks Erin for the recommendation, and for rocking out with it! ❤️ . . I’ve been helping women transform their lives through health & fitness online for the past 3.5 years and If I can be honest🤫, I was scared how pregnancy would affect my ability to stay on my own journey, let along be there for others. . But ya know what happening instead? It’s making me a WAY better coach!! I’ve worked with women of every shape, size, & fitness level, but I’ve never RELATED to that feeling of having to follow the modifier option full out. . Today about 100 women are completing their Day 1 in my online Holiday fitness challenge, myself included💪🏼. And today’s 30 min workout was one I wouldn’t have batted at eye at before pregnancy, but at #23weekspregnant it was SUPER CHALLENGING for me!! Umm burpees?! 😬 I have a new appreciation for the awesome modifier because I followed her the entire time! (Swipe Left to See how I modified). . I’m also super grateful for this business because it gave me This COMMUNITY that keeps me going 👈🏼 That’s been my total secret sauce for staying committed during 🤰🏻pregnancy. . Late Night = 27 WEEK BUMP UPDATE!! 🙌 🙌 🙌 . 27 weeks down, 13 to go!! Can't believe we are almost to 3rd trimester 🤯 It has been crazy to see but mostly FEEL the changes my body is going/growing through. Baby is most active between 4-6 AM & 10-12 PM, other than that he likes his rest. God has given us such an amazing blessing!! . As we approach a 17lb weight gain, I am not even phased in the slightest by the highest number I have ever seen for myself on that scale. I have been working out at least 4 days a week (greatly modified) and eating healthy most days (but feeling just fine with indulging) as well. Whatever gets you through those 10 months, am I right?! . I have no specific cravings, just staying focused on keeping fruits, veggies, and water intake as main priority. Baby D has a name, a car seat and a few other baby items we received last week from friends and family of which we are soooooo incredibly grateful 🙏🙏🙏 . I knew @duffy5018 would be an amazing dad (just ask our 2 pups) but this adventure has done nothing but reassured me that I am always right 😆😆 I am so very lucky to be experiencing this hot mess called parenthood with you Mr. Duffy. 35 weeks!! I currently feel like I have so many things to get done on the daily, but I really don’t it’s only because it takes me so long to do most common everyday things, oh and baby brain is pretty bad most days. I feel like I’m loosing brain cells. Will they ever come back? I hope so 😂. Also my clumsiness the the inability to bend and pick things up comfortably makes me slightlyyyy bitchy. Ok very bitchy! My poor husband, and pets 🤷🏽‍♀️. Buttt we are so close to the end and meeting our little man, can’t help but wonder when he will make his grand entrance. My body is definitely preparing for labor I can’t really tell if what im feeling are fake contractions or not but there’s a lot of strange things happening that you probably don’t want me going into full detail 😂🤷🏽‍♀️ but hey this process definitely isn’t glamorous and he’s gotta come out so all of this is just nature’s way of saying hey there it’s almost time. I’ll definitely be discussing things with my doctor on Wednesday. Things that are making life pretty rad these days are naps, yoga, hot showers, my pregnancy pillow, m+m’s and my go go juice (which I currently ran out if 😭) need to get on getting more, oh I also don’t want to forget my wonderful husband whose taken a lot of the house work lately so I can relax I struck gold with that man. Baby hiccups are too cute and pretty funny at times except for when it’s 3 am and they have me wide awake, still cute though. Looking forward to these next few weeks, as we prepare mentally for his arrival. Hospital bags are packed just Incase, and I really think everything is good to go! Although somehow I know I’ll probably find something else to do because well nesting. And yes I’m pretty proud of myself because although I didn’t get much sleep last night (lady in the picture describes me perfectly these days) I did manage a shower and a pretty nice big breakfast after yoga! Little wins

Pregnancy can definitely make you forget how far you’ve come! Not only because you’re super forgetful in general (LOL #pregnancybrain is real) but because of your quickly changing body! 🤰🏼 When I first started working out and eating well, it took me a little while to see the changes, with pregnancy the changes started to creep up quickly! Ringing in week 19 with some morning sickness and report writing 🎉👌🏼I’m feeling extra tight in my stomach and sleep was not the greatest last night between George and Anthony sleeping on top of me and my joints feeling super achy. Cannot believe we are almost halfway thru and in 21 short weeks we will be holding our little peanut 💕👶🏻 . . How to handle the #firsttrimester . Do what feels right! This is what helped ME, but every woman and pregnancy is unique. . SLEEP: make sure you get plenty of sleep by going to bed early. Honestly, I would (and still do) get ready for bed when my kids do. I typically give them a bath between 7-7:30, and then they play for 15 min & pick out their stories while I shower (with the door open 🤷🏼‍♀️). I’m usually in bed between 8:30-9, asleep by 10:15. . FOOD: Eating was tricky for me, as NOTHING sounded good to eat. Vegetables completely grossed me out, and I barely ate any. For those who have been following me for a while, you know that I usually eat a big salad every day for lunch. Well that had to stop 🛑. It pretty much made me want to vomit 🤮. One thing I found that helped me was always keeping a little food in my stomach. I would eat buttered toast or a bagel in the car on my way to work, then eat my overnight oats a bit later. Basically I ate whatever sounded good. Lots of bread, crackers, yogurt, peanut butter and jelly, fruit. I tried to choose healthy options, but I didn’t stress about it. I also drank a lot of Gatorade and ginger ale. . EXERCISE: For me, working out took my mind away from how nauseous I felt. I really didn’t skip any workouts, and I continued to run one day a week. As you know, I use the @sweat app and follow #bbgstronger 💪🏻. I cleared this with my doctor when I found out I was pregnant, and I highly suggest you do the same if you’re unsure. I have been modifying exercises when it doesn’t feel right, and I’ve been swapping abs for full body. . My final tip is to ask for help! Let’s be honest, guys aren’t always the best at knowing when to step in and help.. 🤦🏼‍♀️Tell your significant other when you’re feeling like 💩, and let them help. . #motivationmonday ... part of yesterday’s preggie #posteriorchain circuit. (SWIPE for full circuit) Been trying to pay attention to integrating more #pulling movements as well as #glutes and #corestability in a safe way during pregnancy to counteract the natural draw forward of the growing weight on my front side 🤰💪 this is something I would have done not pregnant, however I modify here with: 1)lower weight (could also use body weight on any given day) 2)higher TRX (creating less resistance to pull up) 3)more use of resistance bands in training 4)more water and attention to rest when needed It is important for me to find ways to feel myself in my workouts but also honor my pregnancy and the balance can be found for sure!! Se me ocurrió hacer la versión de wok de verduras con los noodles de konjac de @betterthanfoods 🍝y quedo así de bueno! Ingredientes: noodles de konjac 🍜+ 🍳huevos + 🌶pimiento rojo + 🥕zanahoria + 🍄champis + 🌱puerto + 🍶salsa de soja. Cortamos las verduras en trocitos y las salteamos en una sartén de wok con la salsa de soja hasta que queden bien doradas. En una olla hervimos los espaguetis 2/3 minutos y retiramos, escurrimos y los ponemos en la sartén con las verduras. 5 weeks postpartum, post C-section and first day back to training my @activespiritmalta Fit Fam 🔥🙌🏽 Easing back into it but felt so good to be back. Got in early to test the session beforehand👌🏽 (I forgot I don’t need an alarm clock any more 👶🏽⏰) They came, they sweat, conquered💧 and we were done by 7:30. I’ve never locked up, and driven home so quickly knowing Sophia is at home 🥰 Pumped enough for a baby elephant 🐘, left her with her daddy and, feel a little guilty for saying this, but... despite missing her squishy little face, I really enjoyed those 2 hours and listening to Cardi B - “Money” 🎶 full blast on the drive to and from class 🙈💪🏽 . TRAINING - Still modifying (raised) burpees and mountain climbers 🏔 I’m definitely avoiding ab exercises (building strength slow and steady) but otherwise I’m feeling practically back to my old self pre-pregnancy🤰🏽 . 💥 LADIES DON’T BE AFRAID or FORGET TO MOVE AND KEEP FIT DURING PREGNANCY 🙌🏽 You will NOT regret it. . BODY - Breastfeeding sends me straight to the fridge/pantry 🐷. I’m hungrier now than I ever was pregnant. I haven’t and WON’T weigh myself since coming back from hospital, but I’m really happy how I’ve bounced back so far despite increased calories which has been somewhat of a ‘setback’. My priorities are so different now, so setback shmetback, bring ALL the foods 🍼👶🏽💓 I really want to work on getting toned and strong again (especially around my midsection, let’s just say it’s nice and soft at the moment ☁️) but all in due time 🙂 . Coffee ☕️ . I’m an avid coffee drinker, long black or double espresso please! However this changed when we were trying to conceive. I gave up coffee completely and although there is no evidence linking caffeine and fertility there is a link between caffeine & cortisol, the stress hormone. Some studies suggest that elevated cortisol / stress can impact fertility. Chronic stress can impact ovulation along with fertilisation and implantation in the uterus. My decision to remove caffeine was all linked to my cortisol levels and I chose to remove coffee to alleviate my stress levels. During pregnancy guidelines recommend you limit your intake to less than 200 mg per day, so thats about 1 - 2 instant coffees or 1 latte a day or 3 cups of tea. Caffeine is a stimulant that influences the sympathetic nervous system, when drunk your energy levels increase along with your heart rate and blood pressure. These main functions are already working hard due to your growing baby and with this added influence it puts an additional load on your body and baby. Caffeine can also reduce your body’s ability to absorb iron which is an important mineral during pregnancy. Excessive amounts of caffeine can lead to lower birth weight and reduced blood flow through to the placenta during pregnancy. Just remember caffeine doesn’t just exist in coffee & tea its also found in soft drinks, energy drinks and sorry to say chocolate 🍫 With all that being said, its all about balance and being in tune with your body! at Truth Coffee Roasting

As most of you know - Devin and I are on a one year adventure up north here in Rochester, MN. While he is conducting research at Mayo Clinic, we are living the simple life. Currently living in someone's basement with 80% of our belongings stored away back in Omaha, NE. - - We share a kitchen, we don’t have our own entry, we have zero decor in our bedroom and living room, we have a few strands of Christmas lights to bring some holiday cheer, and NOW we are down to one car since Devin's decided to die on us yesterday afternoon. 🚙☠️😂 oh life. - - Most days I’m really happy and content with this year away, learning to be minimalistic. #mealprep Sunday went down at our house today ✔️😉💯 Now that I’m out of the #firsttrimester I’m not nauseous anymore and ready to try my usual salad for lunch again. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know what I’m talking about. Here’s what I prepped 👇🏼 ✔️ Breakfast: Overnight oats w/ walnuts, almond butter, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I ran out of my @drinkorgain protein powder 😭 so these don’t have any added protein. ✔️ Lunch: salad with mixed greens, kale, peppers, 2 hard boiled eggs, crumbled blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, radishes, cucumber and fresh corn. I also made a batch of @skinnytaste Chunky Beef & Tomato Soup, and fruit salad as well. ✔️ Snacks: plain Greek yogurt with honey and berries, unsalted mixed nuts, bananas. I really wanted to make a batch of @thetoastedpinenut peanut butter granola bars, and I just ran out of time and energy. Maybe I’ll make them tomorrow, cause they are the 💣🙌🏻. ✔️ Dinner: I never prep my dinners ahead of time, my husband and I take turns cooking dinner. We eat lots of chicken breasts and thighs, salmon, ground turkey and lean ground beef. 1️⃣0️⃣ things I know about being preggo so far: 1️⃣ I have no core. That left me about 6 weeks ago 😂 2️⃣ There’s 3 other pregnant women in my gym at the moment... and every woman’s body is different and reacts to pregnancy in a different way. But each of us should continue to workout if we’re feeling well and modify accordingly. 👏🏽👍🏽👌🏽• 3️⃣ My boobs hurt! 🤩 #tmi#forrealtho 4️⃣ I should stay below 80% of my max when lifting heavy.
