Oestrogen Dominance Part 6 Hormonal imbalances are alarmingly common & one of the most common imbalances is oestrogen dominance. Oestrogen dominance plays a role in PMS, endometriosis, PCOS, cystic breast disease, uterine fibroids, breast cancer and other non-reproductive conditions such as suboptimal thyroid function in women. In men, it contributes to larger hips, male breasts, crying, low testosterone and much more. Following on from my last 5 posts, let’s take a look at the final common cause of oestrogen dominance: 5. Excess Body Fat. Excess body fat (especially stored in the hips, waist & thighs) is a common cause of oestrogen dominance. Not only does fat tissue absorb and store oestrogen circulating in your bloodstream, it also synthesises oestrogen from your other hormones. Having high levels of oestrogen cues your body to make more fat cells, which then produce even more oestrogen, creating a vicious cycle. Excess body fat is also of concern to men as aromatase, an enzyme stored in body fat, turns testosterone into oestrogen. Excess fat raises aromatase levels and conversion of testosterone to oestrogen, thereby leading to unfavourably high levels of oestrogen in males. If you currently are or are attempting to lose weight, it is extremely important to put measures in place to ensure your body can clear oestrogen. Fat loss will release stored oestrogen into the bloodstream, causing a temporary oestrogen dominance and necessitating an oestrogen clearance protocol. One of the most common themes I see with my clients is them failing to recognise how far they’ve come! Everybody is obsessed with the outcome which is great, yes, but sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the progress you have made since you first started and appreciate where you are at this moment in time. . With the world of social media that we live in It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and start comparing our journeys to that of other people which can leave us feeling poorly about our current state of affairs. This is something you have to come away from completely and learn to compare yourself to YOU and nobody else! You have to understand that the length of time it takes to get a result is completely different for each individual. What takes one person 12 weeks might take another person 24 weeks and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. . The main thing is you appreciate where you are at and enjoy the process, once you can do this your journey will become a lot easier which will make the process to your outcome a lot more attainable. If you can’t enjoy the process then what’s the point? What you are doing shouldn’t make you feel miserable, if it does then you are on taking the wrong approach! What you are doing should give you all of the above and allow you to live your life to the fullest whilst you get the body you want and know you deserve. If it does’t alarm bells should be ringing! . So if you are feeling frustrated with the lack of progress you are making and can’t seem to enjoy what you are doing then it’s time for you to change it up. Don’t waste anymore time forcing yourself to do something you know you can’t sustain long term. Quad pump 🔛 Here’s a little clip from my quad session yesterday with @nathan_falcke - 60kg walking lunges for a set of 20 (had to skip the first few reps of the video because it was too long). Not quite a PB but I was pretty happy with this considering I’ve taken a bit of time off these past few weeks! Time to get back into a solid routine and start cutting for the next couple of months 😍🙌💪

275lbs 🙌 finally! - after many attempts, I finally did it. Shaking in my converse but I did it 💪 wasnt expecting it either because I went on Tuesday for deadlifts and it wasnt looking good 🤣 I wasnt given up tho .. - Also thanks to the chalk, that came in just in time. I order liquid chalk. In my opinion I think it's better than the loose chalk. 🤷‍♀️ I only applied the liquid chalk once.
