The come back is better than the set back... looking back at pictures like the ones on the left makes me cringe. How could I let things get so out of control? The truth is, if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have found my passion for fitness. Fitness has not only become single handedly one of the most important parts of my life, but it’s also my job and how I make a living. If I didn’t gain 30 pounds in 2014, I wouldn’t be where I am now. And where I am now is a pretty damn good place to be. I’m proud of myself for never loosing sight of my love for fitness and taking care of my body even through slipping two discs in my back 3 months ago and not being able to pick up a weight since. Every single day I tell myself the come back will be better than the set back... because it will be.

Are our FEARS actually valid?⁣ Are they holding us back?⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ Fear is a response our body experiences when it senses danger and may serve as well in life or death situations. It did that for our ancestors. ⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ HOWEVER, in modern times we are often FEARFUL of things that don’t pose a threat to us.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ WE FEAR THE SMALLEST THINGS and let it dictate our actions. It limits what we are actually capable of achieving.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ Fear is necessary for us to survive as it is a protective mechanism. BUT my point is let’s CHOOSE and be MINDFUL of what is FEAR WORTHY.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ Let’s look at our fears and ask ourselves if what we are fearful of have REAL CONSEQUENCES and if it poses a REAL THREAT to us.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ If there is no real consequence, no real threat, then why should we be fearful?⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ Why should we run away? DB lateral raises -> DB shoulder press (Superset Finisher)⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ After doing my heavy shoulder workouts, I often like to drop the weight and bang out some reps.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ Lateral raises are one of my favorite workouts when trying to target my deltoids.⁣⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣⁣ I typically train my shoulders the same day as I do my chest. Struggling with pull-ups?⁣ -⁣ Do as much as you can & as OFTEN as you can.⁣ -⁣ What helps me is really focusing on using my lats & “pulling with my elbows” as if you’re elbowing towards the ground if that makes sense.⁣ -⁣ It might take some time but pull ups are just one of those workouts that you have to consistently keep doing to get better. Do it every back day!⁣ -⁣ If you can’t do a pull up YET start off with some assistance either from a spotter or by using those assisted pull-up machines.⁣ -⁣ Ain’t no shame in starting with a spot. Just continue to focus on form and repetition and you’ll see results in no time.⁣ -⁣ Keep grinding y’all! ⁣ -⁣ Don’t let the struggle frustrate you!
