One month ago today I had my total knee replacement surgery! I feel like I lost a whole month of life! This has been a very emotional journey but I had to have the surgery done, my quality of life was in question! I’m still struggling to sit upright, bending the knee is oh so painful but it is getting better! Got that Friday leg day in and my legs feel so strong!! Strong seems to be my “key” word lately. Today is REST day for the #fasterwaytofatloss community!! My clients can choose to do an active recovery activity, like a walk or bike ride, or can take a complete rest day on these days. Today I got in a quick walk today on the treadmill and will spend some time stretching later on. Common misconception of coaching - you need to be in the best shape of your life to do it! My answer HELL NO you don’t! The only thing that you need to do to coach is to want to help yourself get better! That’s it! When I first started I was 225 pounds (yes you read that correctly), I knew that I needed to do this for me and to hold myself accountable so that I could become the healthiest me. Was everyday roses and butterflies - NOOOOO!!!! Some days I was really motivated and others I didn’t want to do sh*t! But guess what, I did it anyways, because I chose to love myself and I wanted to see what I was capable of! And let me tell you something, it is incredible what you are able to accomplish when you set your mind to something! So don’t think you have to be perfect, don’t think you need to be in shape, all you need to do is LOVE yourself (which if you don’t it will come in time, I promise) and want to help yourself get better! Flashback Friday ~~ So, funny story: when I was at the beach a few weeks ago, I decided not to post the picture on the right because of my “back fat” (That’s one area of my body I’ve always been self conscious about) . I came across the picture on the left today (from April 2017) and was amazed - I realized that was what I thought my back still looked like today. . It’s crazy how day by day, we don’t see the changes in our body. How can we? We see ourselves 24/7. But put two pictures next to each other & it makes a world of a difference! . Next time you find yourself thinking about how far you have left to go, remember how far you’ve come! We are all warriors in our own journey 🌀💭🌸

Feeling tired, sluggish, not fitting into your jeans, and hating the reflection in the mirror is HARD! Choose your hard! We all have a choice. Do we put in the effort to take care of ourselves? Or do we say screw it and continue to beat ourselves up? It’s not easy! But it’s worth it! It doesn’t come naturally to me. I have to work at it everyday. I realized that it’s a lifestyle change abs that there’s no quick fix! I had a beautiful intimate class today. Alot of the time (with 30+ people taking the same class) it can be hard to coach to everyone, i need to give broad cues and plenty of levels. While i really enjoy the atmosphere and challenge that a large class brings there is something awesome about only having a few. Today i had 5 lovely ladies for my 10am aqua aerobics class. We worked on slowing things down, executing our moves with purpose and we really nutted out their technique. They all left feeling accomplished and like they will really be able to get the full potential out of their future workouts. It was great to be able to teach them how and why we do these moves and why doing them correctly (even if that means slowly) rather than just belting out the highest option for a bunch of reps is so beneficial. I love this quote! You are never to old to chase your dreams and live the life you want! I decided a year ago at 37 to change my whole career direction and train to be a PT with @futurefittraining! I'm now a qualified level 2 gym instructor and I'm working towards my level 3 personal trainer! I love my gym (@dcgymnasium) and I love helping people! I'm also quite happy to spend all day in gym clothes! 😜 I also decided 5 months ago to take my weightlifting seriously! Ive had so much help from the trainers at my gym, with spotting, form checks and training tips and on Tuesday I got a new PB - 130kg deadlift! Life rarely runs smoothly and it will be full of blips and dreams can be put to one side! But that's OK, keep fighting and those dreams will one day become a reality! Whee my face is slimming down nicely 😋🤗😎 Typical leg day, ran over 8.5 miles on the treadmill, did 500 leg presses at 200 lbs, 500 hip abductors at 230 lbs, and 3 sets of 12 barbell deadlifts at 60 lbs.. so I just started learning deadlifts and am trying to get my form correctly, please send me videos on how to do them! 🤩🤩🤩 I can pick up men up to 200 lbs before I even started working out, I can't wait to see how much I can lift in a few weeks. 4 days! I made it 4 days so far this week and man am I sore - but boy does it feel good! I also set a Personal Record for deadlift tonight - 125lbs! 💪🏻💪🏻. Pretty freakin stoked - still working on form so I can do more, but dang that was exciting. Wrapping up 14 weeks since I stepped foot into @crossfitblackhivecentral for my 1st personal training session. I still have a ways to go, but I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made so far. Some days are harder than others. Some days I’m tired and don’t want to go, but I push myself, or I take a rest day and come back ready to fight. Búin að fá svo mikið af fyrirspurnum hér á instagram og fésinu og snapchat um þessa hanska hvar ég fékk þá og hvernig þeir eru að reynast þannig ég ætla bara að setja inn smá hér sem svarar þessu öllu (vonandi). Ég semsagt sá að Reykjavík MMA væru komin með hanska og stökk ég yfir til þeirra enda nágrannar ISR Matrix og ekki langt að fara . Ég fór og mátaði þá og fékk mjög góðar upplýsingar um hanskana Þeir heita Sandee sem er gamalt og virt merki en það er eitt af þeim 4 bestu merkjunum sem eru á markaðnum og þeir eru framleiddir í thailandi. Ég tók S í stærð (hefði tekið xs væri það til )en þeir eiga að vera þröngir og betra að taka aðeins of þrönga þar sem þeir eru úr leðri því þeir víkka svo og gefa eftir . Ég þurfti ekki að bíða lengi eftir að nota því mín beið einkaþjálfun í pödsum og eruð þið að djóka þvílík snilld svo kom að Cat æfingu (sjálfsvarnar) þá var æði að hafa þá því við vorum að kýla og ýmislegt meir og ég upplifði aldrei að þeir væru að hefta hreyfingar eða pirra mig á æfingu .
