One year in the difference- but you won’t see the biggest difference. Because that difference has happened on the inside. In the picture on the left I was obsessed with eating fewer and fewer calories, only happy when I felt a hole in my stomach, I was self conscious and so very unhappy in my own skin. I’m a world away from that girl now I’m eating a healthy, balanced diet and I’m definitely eating enough (sometimes more than enough 😊) but the biggest change, and the one I’m most proud of is I’m happy, I’m strong - and getting stronger and finally not punishing myself with excessive training and super restricted calories. The point I’m making here is that sometimes the most significant changes, the changes that you don’t see in the mirror are the most worthwhile- the most important! Don’t bash yourself because you don’t look like ‘that girl’ or ‘that guy’ life is a journey and you’ll get to where you want to be if you just have the patience to persevere. There’s been significant progress from the left to right pics here. Be happy in who you are and in your body because when you treat your body with the respect it deserves great things happen 💜💜💜😊

This time of year it can be easy to rationalize “throwing in the towel” on you nutrition and workouts. Can I remind you with as much encouragement as possible that this is the time of year that it is most important to stay on it! Being realistic is key here— yes, you’re likely going to enjoy more treats and holiday goodies but instead of feeling defeated, keep up your workouts and adhere to at the 80/20 rule. Keep it clean 80% of the time (during the week when you are in your rhythm and routine) and the other 20% of the time you enjoy life and the holidays. Keep going to the gym. Those workouts count, even if they are shorter. Keep on keeping on, friend. Consistency is KEY even when your motivation wanes. I promise you’ll never regret staying on track, completing a workout or choosing not to indulge just for the sake of indulging! Come January 1st you won’t be starting over. Lets stay in it!

Have you heard of #iifym? On leg day I follow a "if it fits in your macros" approach. On leg day especially when my body needs carbs for muscle recovery. Typically I consume Whole Foods (does it have a mother? Did it come from the ground?). On leg day I count my macros (fats proteins and carbs) and enjoy the foods that contain those macros but foods that are treats to me! I've learned it's important to feed your body what it needs and customiza that to my goals. Today if I need carbs, I'm going to treat myself to a bagel. Yum!

Meet Lauren. It’s FRIDAY! And the weekend before Thanksgiving! Why not start the weekend off with a quick and effective Ab Circuit that will give a great tone up for your core. Try this Ab Circuit: complete three times through with 20 reps for each exercise. 1️⃣V-sits (in & outs) 2️⃣Hip Ups 3️⃣Russian Twists 3️⃣Plank (as long as you can with proper form) 4️⃣Cheek to cheek plank Working your core is super important- I encourage you to incorporate focused ab workouts a couple of times a week. AND HERES WHY... A strong core makes you less likely to be injury prone. Our core is the part of our body where most of the work takes place. Making sure it is strong and capable will help you to be more in control of your whole body and keep the injuries at bay. A strong core alleviates back pain: often times back pain can be a cause of a weak core. You may have weaker abs and stronger back muscles. A strong core protects your organs-Your core is not only where your organs and central nervous system do their busy-work, it’s also where your body’s largest veins and arteries are located. The bench press is my favorite exercises for upper body hypertrophy since it hits everything from your shoulders, triceps, biceps, chest, lats, core and even glutes! Since it is a full body exercise it can be easy to hit a plateau if you are not set up correctly and keeping your entire body Tight! ❌Top 5 CUES To INCREASE your Benchpress❌ ✔️PULL the bar out of the rack instead of pressing it out. Having a strong lift off the rack sets you up for a strong lift. By pressing the bar out of the rack you are losing valuable tension in you upper back and shoulders. Set the bar up at a good height that you are able to keep your arms straight and literally pull he bar out of the rack while maintaining lat and shoulder tension. ✔️Grip the bar tight and focus on BENDING the bar in half, keeping your shoulder blades squeezed together and CHEST UP! ✔️Control the movement! Never let the bar fall down onto your chest. Instead pull the bar to down to your chest in a controlled manner before explosively pressing it back up! ✔️Keep your elbows tucked throughout the movement to keep tension in your lats and protect your shoulders! ✔️Make sure to take a deep breathe into your belly before your lift and exhale on the way up! at Los Angeles, California

Leg and glute day today! 100kg hip thrusts for 8 reps. I did 90kg for 12 reps before this and another set of 100kg for 8 reps after this set.
