I see constant improvements in my shape, even though the number on the scale isn’t really moving any. I think it is really hard to tell myself that the number on the scale isn’t important. That number has been an obsession for so many years, especially in my really heavy years. Stepping on the scale could sometimes feel like getting punched in the face. But now, looking at my shape it shouldn’t be that scary, but it kinda still is. Because I’m really fucking disciplined, I work my ass off, and I’m not satisfied until I reach the goal of 72 kg’s. Im so freakin’ close. After 6 weeks of the same meals every single day it’s been great to switch it up starting this week and boy has @liam_bygott delivered. For dinner last night I got to have a beef, capsicum, mushroom and avocado ‘pizza’ and omg it was amazing. This summer has been all about balance for us. Half the time, we didn’t have access to a gym and had to get creative with at-home, bodyweight exercises. There was another period of 2 weeks where we were sick, over-worked and couldn’t fit exercising into our schedule. Instead of beating ourselves up and giving up completely, we did what we could and gave our bodies the rest they deserved. Upper Body Barbell Workout 💪🏼 - Ultimate lunchtime workout - bang out maximum effort in 45 mins, come out looking like a stray 🐶 but feeling like 🔥. - Stuck to using a barbell for maximum time efficiency, however the same exercises can be carried out using dumbbells. - For hypertrophy, try 4x10-12 reps at 50-75% of your maximum lifting weight. For strength, try 4x5-6 reps with 80-90% of your maximum lifting weight. Absolutely hate showing this.. August and today 😋👌🏼but just so everyone knows, If I don’t exercise and eat well my body gains weight and fat! I’m not lucky, naturally thin and so on, just the same as everyone else. .✨ It took one year for me to get in to the out of shape 1st picture due to an injury that meant I was exercising only 1 or 2 times a month and being in so much pain I would rest for 2 weeks before trying again and obviously not tracking calories!! I was a size 10-12 and now I’m an 8-10 which I find easy to maintain. .✨ Trust the process, track your calories, move more and you will lose weight.. this took me 8 weeks and the 7 first of which I felt like nothing was changing then boom week 8 I was like WOW I DID IT! SQUEEZE THE PEACH 🍑😜 ▪️Sumo Squats ▪️Narrow stance Squats What’s the difference, where do they target ? Sumo- Wider stance feet turned out. Sumo squats focus more on the inner thigh and glutes. Narrow - Hip distance apart or slightly wider, slight turn out of toes. Focus more on Quads and Glutes. Pointers: •It’s so important whilst you squat you find that mind muscle connection. Start warming up the muscle before going into weighted squats, get the connection before you start💪🏼 and squuuezeee that booty when standing up 🍑 •Ensure the weight it going through the heels •Keep the chest up as much as you can •Flat back, send that booty back like you’d ‘sit down onto a sofa’ •Knee’s in-line with the toe direction •Get as low as possible - hit that 90• angle I hope this helps... get squatting 🏋️‍♀️🍑😜 at The Gym Hemel

DESTROYED after metcon this morning 😵practically crawled into work to with the thought of this mornings #overnightoats 🍫 — Listening to @badassbaberadio podcast about body positivity and self love 💗 really inspirational and motivating. I have real troubles with loving my body and myself 😔 I need to actively practice self love and appreciate what my body does for me, after all the shot I’ve put it through in the past. This morning on the squat rack, looking in the mirror I was memorised by the in and out movements of my ribs as I was taking deep breaths. 🌬So fascinating and really amazing that my body is able to go to the gym and perform the way it does. Self love. Everyone talks about it like it’s so easy to do. Yes Stacy, running a bubble bath is all fun & games until you’re forcing yourself to sit in boiling water because you feel guilty about wasting water. And now you’re staring at your red, naked body & accidentally thinking about all the bad decisions you’ve ever made & all the times you’ve been rejected & how this bath idea was so stupid & you’re so stupid because you can’t even have a BUBBLE BATH RIGHT without ruining it. Now you’re sitting here in a luke warm bath water with more self hate going around your head than when you were just impatiently standing naked, freezing waiting for said bath to fill up. So How DO you get better at being nice to yourself? 1. Stay away from baths; they’re a waste of time, space & water (& semi unhygienic?) 2. Voice your negative self talk out loud. Direct it to the people you love. Imagine you told your friend that they deserved every heartbreak. Imagine you told your daughter she wasn’t worth the effort? Imagine if you told your partner not to do that thing they’re SO EXCITED ABOUT DOING because it’s a waste of time? They’re just going to fail anyway? You sound like a very dramatic, unrealistic bitch. No one would want to be around you hey? No one would want to put effort into you? So it’s NO WONDER that you wouldn’t want to put effort into you when you’re being SO negative all the time. Next time you tell yourself no. That you’re not worth it, that you’re a waste of space, that you’re goal is SOO out of reach. Say it out loud, picture saying it to your friend, picture how embarrassed you’d feel, how BAD you’d feel if someone overheard. Then reassess. Because I bet you 100% that you ARE good enough. #antibubblebathclub at Mornington Peninsula

Different hours of the day are more productive than others. A one-hour shift in your day can give you a more productive hour that normally would've been squandered watching TV, eating unwanted snacks, or trolling the internet 💻 So try this: Move up your bedtime by 60 minutes, then wake up 60 minutes earlier. For example, if you usually go to bed at 10:30 PM and wake up at 6:00 AM, try going to bed at 9:30 PM and waking up at 5:00 AM. Here's an example of how to use that time: * Prepare healthy food for the day. * Get to the gym before the rush. * Add in that cardio work you've been putting off. Getting one hour back in your day means you'll be getting 7 hours back over the course of the week. Why we workout Working out with a Trainer or even a partner can definitely improve your Gym Gains. What I'm talking about is that when we are working out separately we are not as consistent as when you have Trainer or partner. Four days a week often became two days a week. For Gains to be seen you have to get the correct volume of training consistency. This is the problem with “working out”, if you don’t love what you are doing, if you don’t love the people you do it with you fail. It’s like a death by a thousand cuts. When you workout two days a week you are actually more sore than if you are more consistent because your body adjusts and improves. The purpose of exercise is to get better at exercise. Not to earn a snickers. It’s that adaptation that makes you better and getting better is why you workout. As volume is increasing your cardiovascular base is will improve. That’s the value of getting better at exercise, the value of adaptation and admitting that we are still only about 60%, just imagine what can happen as we get closer to 100%. Are you mentally tough? Can you do what it takes to be unbreakable? There are two main ways to increase mental toughness. One is to do something physical that you're not used to doing. If you've mostly been strength training, there's no real challenge in lifting anymore. Heavy lifts and high rep work to failure are obviously mentally challenging, but you’re probably too familiar with them to boost your mental capacity. If you're mainly into strength training, this can mean completing a marathon or a shorter distance race as fast as you possibly can. If you've been pushing your strength limits for a long time, pushing your limits with endurance work, will increase your mental toughness. This is hard, but still an "easy" way. As, even though it's challenging, you're used to pushing your limits physically. The other way is to get out of your mental comfort zone. This means doing something you're really afraid of doing. When you face what you're most afraid of in life, you'll grow, and the effect will spill over to other areas. Once you beat a fear, your inner voice will say: "If I did THAT, I can do THIS." It will increase your confidence. One example for me was diving. I'd been scared of deep and dark water my life. Diving down into dark and cold water feeling like your lungs will explode was horrifying. I also came with a real risk of actually dying. Many times I thought I’m suffocating. But I did it and the best part was beating my fear and eventually feeling comfortable in the water seeing all interesting creatures at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea.
