🍑 HAPPY HUMPDAY! 🍑 If anyone knows me, knows that I’m not the type of woman to be showing off too much. I really go to the gym to kick my own ass, make gains and crush my goals. I don’t mind looking cute but I rarely show off much skin because that’s just not me, lol. But in this case, I had to recognize my progress for what it really is. Lets talk about RESULTS: IG is filled with 6 week transformations that prompt you to believe that you can have a “beach body” in as little as 6 weeks: well, I’m sorry to burst your bubble everyone, but REAL CHANGE comes with patience and time. Now as I get okder, functional movements have become my best friend. Building upper body strength is very difficult for women but it’s not impossible! If you want to change your body, you have to change the way you look at exercise: it’s not about doing cardio, or lifting weights: it’s about finding a regimen that works FOR YOU. It’s about modifying, being consistent, and developing your own unique sense of well-being. It’s about your health. Let’s start supporting more people to live healthy lives, not to be a size 2, but to be confident and healthy, no what that looks like for the individual. This time last year was my peak week for the winter classic. Usually I rebound after shows and end up binging until in 30+lbs over my stage weight.....but not this time. This time I set a goal in my head and I didn’t stop until I got there. So here I am, a year later only 9lbs away from when peak week started (before pulling water) and I couldn’t happier. Booty werk to get that engagement up #AMIRIGHT 🌱 Elevated reverse lunges paired with front squats here. I incorporate lunges in every lower body workout. Elevating your lunge allows for more depth. I rarely do bilateral movements because my core doesn’t fire up/is very weak on the left, which leads to my alignment feeling off. Happy #humpday 😎 I usually do this variation of deads on a deficit but I felt I was getting enough of a stretch in the high hamstring/glute. If you aren’t feeling it, try standing on a couple plates or better yet on a box. Side note - I wish I could always lift in a gym that requires sunglasses on hand like on the top of my head. "Romanian deadlift" . . ⬇️HOW TO DO THEM⬇️ ✔Keep your feet straight or at a slight angle ✔Maintain a neutral spine & use your back to stabilize a barbell or kettlebell(s) ✔Breath in deep before bending down, SQUEEZE your 🍑& 😧 out coming up to get a rhythm going! ✔Squeeze up the weight w/out moving your feet or losing balance ✔At the top of this move SQUEEZEEE your glutes again for 1-3 seconds OR more if you can stand it! ✔ Come down slower than coming up to add even MORE resistance! ✔Go as far down as you can for an extra stretch! . 🔥NOTE: The slower you go down, the MORE activation & the MORE flatter shoe the better! . ⬇️HOW TO MAKE THEM EVEN MORE 🔥⬇️ 🔹️Place a resistance band around a barbell and under your feet! 🔸️Use 1 heavy kettlebell OR 2 moderately heavy kettlebells in front of you for 8-12 relatively challenging reps! 🔹️ Perform 3 sets or MORE while upping the weight OR superseting(pairing) it with another leg exercise! 🔸️Put a plate under your feet for an extra stretch! 🔹️Get a more intense pump by using ONLY 1 leg to balance on [Tips in the next video] #humpday

Because it’s #humpday 🐫 This last year, I’ve incorporated more #glute work than I’ve ever done before. To be honest, my booty in a bathing suit has alwayssss been my biggest insecurity because I’m not “naturally blessed” and my shape is literally long & straight!!! 😐 I’ve been squatting, deadlifting, hip thrusting, frog pumping, resistance banding MY LIFE AWAY, and I’m happy with what my lil toosh looked like this first show. In my head, I thought it’d be like a total 🥞 butt, but I wasn’t too self conscious and felt content with what I brought to the show (for the first time in my lifeeee! 🙌🏽) . Not the biggest, but wayyyy better than it has ever looked in my life.
