How to straight up handstand! 🧘🏽‍♀️📚 #GradedAsana 📚 🧘🏽‍♀️ Day 2 is #Handstand #AdhoMukhaVrksasana Which translates as downward facing tree. Iyengar grades this pose 10/60. It’s basically an inverted balance with Flexion of the arms at the shoulders and wrist extension. . Understanding the alignment isn’t so easy. . -We are taught to keep the heels of the hands light and push out through the base of the knuckles. -To pull up through the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles engaging bandhas. -Sometimes if we have very flexible elbows we distend through the elbows. We are looking to have elbows straight (inner elbows facing each other) rather than pushing through the elbow joints. . I had a great practice using my wheel and belt #props ...flipping the grip with wheel is great to keep the alignment of hands and foot...it's different of using a strap...I like it and this was my first time using it in natarajasana. The last day. It was very interesting to know about this gradation. I don't think that dancer is harder than handstand . As about this shot, i suppose that skaters don't do this pose as a static balance and they slide. But i decided to have a yoga fun there #GradedAsana challenge from 11 to 17 November.
