Got a package of seeds from my best friend in the whole world. She has to scale back now that she is working full time. She knew I would be able to put these seeds to good use!!! I am so excited for January to come so I can start planting seeds again. I might some of these spinach seeds though and go to a trial run in the cold frame. I know our day length is short and they may not grow much but I am curious enough to give it a try. #friendsgiving #seedsharing #cantwaitfor2020 #coldframe #spinach #scienceexperiment #sustainableseedcompany

GOT LOADS DONE BEFORE DARK ON THE PLOT! . . . Couple hours before the light faded, got loads done! But it’s all boring, brown, non-photogenic soil prep for next season! so here’s a bright green picture to liven up the day. . . . These are from July 2018. #Repost @happyholistichomestead • • • • • • These tomatoes were all green before the frost. They have been covered up with a small flannel blanket for a few days. I stuck a bunch of green bananas in with them, the ethylene released by the bananas helps turn the tomatoes red. . The ones that have not turned red need a plan. I What is your favorite way to use green tomatoes? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #tomatoes #heirloomtomatoes #greentomatoes #homesteading #smallfarm #growfood #regenerativeagriculture #backtoedengarden #growfoodnotlawns #beetthesystem #growwhatyoueat

Planning next year's tomato patch? Don't forget to add Rosella! We were just smitten by the flavor of this beautiful cherry tomato. Everyone who tasted them raved about it and kept picking them out from the mix - they're incredibly sweet but still complex, with perfect cherry tomato texture so they explode in your mouth, just everything you could want in a cherry tomato. Best of all, the flavor was consistent the whole season, even after the rains returned. They're so good they even have a slight edge over our previous all-time favorite, Chocolate Pear, but the pears are more prolific. I'll be growing both from now on. :) . . . #cherrytomatoes #tomatoreport #tomatotuesday #cherrytomato #tomatoes #showusyourtomatoes #homegrowntomatoes #tomatolove #heirloomtomatoes #tomate #tomaten #sustainableliving #pnwgardening #growwhatyoueat #growyourownfood #homegarden #kitchengarden #veggiepatch #growingvegetables #organicgarden #growfood #realfood #plantbased #potager #veggiegarden #gardenplanning #gardenlove #gardentherapy #plantsmakepeoplehappy #cultivatejoy

So it would appear we had a little stowaway seed when we were sowing our lettuce. 🌱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m not entirely sure who this little guy is, all I know it’s a micro green of some kind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It really does illustrate how great micro greens are though! Whilst our Artic King lettuce seeds are still dragging their heels, taking their time to germinate in the cooler temperatures, this little guy is up & about, ready for action! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love being met with little surprises like this when I visit the allotment you know 😁

Another year. Another #topnine. Don't get me wrong, I think these are fun to generate and look back but they rarely include photos I personally really like or am attached to. And at the bottom of the graphic they post your overall "likes". Two metrics that are mostly about others and not yourself. I thought a lot of this stuff - at least when I first started - was because it was fun to create and share. But our perceived self value in all this still weighs so much in the numbers dictated by others⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Still trying to put it all into a manageable perspective. Create, post and share things I like or create, post and share things you like? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Neither wrong nor right I guess⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ But just want to say I love this gardening thing whatever it has become. And who would have known there are others that appreciate the same. I love this community. Whether I'm way too excited to check my compost temperature, or my first pea has sprouted or I just harvested a $50 tomato and FFS it sure does taste like a $50 tomato...I knows there are a few of you from around this pale blue dot of ours that appreciates the same⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Basically, my end of the 2019 year in review, I just wanted to say I appreciate all of you! Thank you, enjoy your garden experiences and those that help you enjoy those experiences. We're really all the same in the end...compostable that is 😜💙♻️

We've so enjoyed watching @cheriebolzgarden turn this grassy patch of lawn into a flourishing and bountiful edible garden. And we're thrilled she chose our Cedar Raised Bed Kits with Lifetime Aluminum Corners to create it! (made by our factory here in Vermont). Swipe to see some inspiring before and after photos. . Do you have plans to grow more food in 2020? . . . . . #ediblegarden #madeinusa #bcorporation #urbangardenersrepublic #urbanorganicgarden #cedar #raisedbeds #madeinvermont #lovegardeners #foodgarden #growfood #sustainableliving #growyourownfood #growwhatyoueat

I love walking outside to my garden to get the ingredients I need for what I’m cooking. Fresh Parsley is far superior to dried parsley. And it’s soo easy to grow.

The onions are looking much better since I moved them outdoora 😍 I think the greenhouse had got a bit too warm and damp for them. I'll probably move them back into the greenhouse for the worst of the weather or I may plant them out 🤔 see what the weather is like this weekend. . . . #plot2kitchen #kitchengarden #growwhatyoueat #eatwhatyougrow #everyonecangrowtheirown #homegrownveg #homegrown #growyourown #growyourownveg #veggrowing #veggiegrowing #homegrownonions #onions #allotmentgrowing #allotmenteering #allotmentlife #allotmentlove #allotmenteering #allotment #allotmentuk #ontheplot #growfood #wintergrowing #selfsufficient #selfsufficientliving #sustainableliving #seasonaleating

We have added a new garden to the family! This one will be strictly for indoor growing year round while the other can now be dedicated to outdoor growing. The kids have decided they’re going to start planning for the spring 😉 This aeroponic system is currently growing 32 plants. We set up the system and planted seeds on Dec 7 & we’ve begun seeing sprouts popping up! Can’t wait to see this progress! 💫 💫 💫 💫 💫 #nofilter #towergarden #aeroponicgardening #urbandgardening #healthcoachtips #healthytips #recipes #vegetarian #vegan #eatfresh #eatrealfood #kids #recipesforkids #familyfriendlymeals #pickyeaters #growyourownfood #homegardening #mygardentoday #urbanorganicgardener #gardeningtips #thehappygardeninglife #backyardgardening #growfoodnotlawns #veggiegarden #growwhatyoueat #gardentotable #containergarden #farmher #smallfarm #womeninag
