Out of state, but not out of shape 💪🏽 (well, that’s subjectuve😂) PTL for planet fitness, because those things are everrrrywhere, which makes working out when traveling super easy 🙌🏽 . I’ve always been one that trains legs... I was a hammer thrower, did gymnastics, played soccer, started running - so training legs was incredibly natural. Training upper body and arms? Different story. I’ve had to workkkkk for all 1/4 inch visible tricep line that I have 😂😂😂 Followed PWR arms/abs today, and will continue 80DO when I’m back in the land of Ohio again. #goaldigger at College Station, Texas

Migraines suck!! I developed one late yesterday afternoon and I’m still feeling the effects of it this morning. Today was supposed to be a rest day anyway, but with another busy weekend ahead with different sports going on all day, I wanted to get the run in today. I hopped on the treadmill just in case I needed to bail if I started feeling sick again. After 5 miles, I couldn’t take it anymore and felt pretty good. So I grabbed my running buddy 🐶 and headed outside to finish my run. Thanks Boomer for pulling me around those last 2 miles!!! I guess you can call that a fast finish 😉!! Does anyone else suffer from migraines? I don’t get them that often but when I do, man, I’m laid out for awhile! Today’s jump for joy was because sometimes you just don’t want to run it’s to cold it’s to windy it’s raining but once you have finished you couldn’t feel better. 🚨long post alert 🚨I was inspired to do this by @weightloss_therese 👊🏼 if I am being honest with all of you I gained around 10lbs over Christmas/New Years 🤦🏼‍♀️ and I have been struggling to get back into the 170’s! I am currently sitting around 184 (hopefully a fat whoosh is coming soon I’ve been ON POINT with everything) but I have also been weight lifting a lot more recently which may explain the plateau 💪🏼 I’m about 6lbs heavier in the last picture than the middle one, yet the jeans 👖 seem to fit a little better? My muffin top isn’t as fluffy ... so I guess I have to take this as a win! I know the weight will come off eventually! It’s just hard to stay motivated when you don’t see the scale moving! Achilles rehab: 4 sets of 8 drops together then each foot individually 🤞we’re making faster progress than anticipated! 🤗 . . Had a very boring hour and change on the bike watching Frasier then onto the rehab. Productive morning 🙂 . . Still strapped up but any remnants of swelling in the Achilles have surely disappeared (unless I’m just kidding myself... distinct possibility...) 😬 . . Holding off on the running still in the near future but going to have a weekend of cycling and circuits to keep the fitness high. Have you ever felt bad because you’ve missed your workout? You planned a run, but then the weather❄️ got bad, or it was hard to wake up😴, or any other reason made you change your mind. That happened, didn’t it? And all day long you had that feeling of frustration deep inside, that dissatisfaction with yourself. And - well - have you ever felt bad because you DIDN’T miss your run? 💪🏻🏃🏼‍♀️Seriously, that has never happened, has it? You always feel great after you’ve done it. And even greater if it was hard at the beginning. Today I woke up ‪at 6 a.m.‬ to see darkness 🌚and freezing coldness ☃️outside. Very unwelcoming. And it felt so cozy and warm at home. But than I imagined how I’d feel all day long thereafter - and I put all the sport clothes layers on and pushed myself out into the dark and the cold. You never regret going on a run, but you always regret not going on one! 👟5k ✅ p.s. these are just my footsteps - on the way there and back. no one else. 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺 Вам когда-нибудь было плохо от того, что вы пропустили тренировку? По плану пробежка, но погода плохая❄️, или просыпаться не хочется😴, или еще что-то - и вы остаетесь дома. Знакомо, да? И потом весь день внутри сидит это чувство недовольства собой и разочарования. А вам когда-нибудь было плохо от того, что вы НЕ пропустили тренировку? 💪🏻🏃🏼‍♀️Серьезно, так ведь не бывает, правда? После пробежки всегда хорошо, и особенно приятно, если поначалу было сложно заставить себя начать тренировку. Я проснулась сегодня в 6 утра, и вместо обещанных -3°С, за окном были все -7°С. Темно, холод... 🌚☃️ бррр.. очень хотелось остаться в уютной квартире и спать дальше. Но потом я представила себе, как я буду в этом случае чувствовать себя весь оставшийся день и что я пропущу, - нацепила на себя все слои спортивной одежды - и отправилась навстречу холоду и темноте. Hey everyone! How is it going? It is Friday - Yaaaay! The weekend is here and we have more time to go for a run or be active. I started my weekend with a 7k run. It took me 40 min, but that is okay :) My body felt a bit sore after my 7s workout from yesterday, therefore I took it easy and just went to run off the soreness a bit. The weather surprised me with sunshine, some wind and lots of rain at the end. I am so motivated for my half marathon training 🙌 I hope this motivation will stay with me for the next weeks. Face to face Friday! Fall 2016 on the left, right is this morning (2018). Lots of ups and downs but it's a great journey. More recently I've gone up a few pounds but then this morning I was down 3 pounds. What? I've stopped focusing my insta on how much I weigh and more on my training and life in general. These changes are long term and it's not always going to be perfection. Be kind to yourself, look how far you've come. My focus in the next three months is definitely going to be a refocus on nutrition and of course not missing any training. How do I stay motivated? Let’s just start off with saying life is rough! Even when workouts don’t go as planned, cut short for reasons we can’t control, or even if we just aren’t feeling it, how can you stay motivated? 1. Write down your goals 2. Tell anyone willing to listen about the goals you have (this holds you accountable!) 3. Self reflect to figure out the REAL reason you are feeling defeated/unmotivated 4. Don’t beat yourself up (sometimes you may NEED that rest day even if it is for your mental health) Just remember health and wellness is not just physical fitness and a healthy diet; it is mental health, spiritual wellbeing, and social being. This is where most of my miles happen lately and that's ok! #flashbackfriday to the old me. The girl in the 1st picture wanted nothing more than to be “skinny.” My Days consisted of watching everything I put in my mouth, not eating enough calories, having NO ENERGY and doing hours of cardio (notice Fitbit on wrist... I was determine to get 20,000-25,000 steps a day). Fast forward to today 😍 I’m healthy (eating double the calories), strong and HAPPY. Running is my cardio and I incorporate strength train into my routine. 1st picture I’m 130lb and 2nd I’m 140lb (with abs). Everyone struggles, it’s how you meet those struggles that count! Day 35!! Stronger. Faster. Better. 🏃🏽‍♀️ You guys!! I hit a serious wall about week ago. In a snap, I lost all motivation to run. In fact, I was emphatic about not running. I refused, like a toddler at bedtime. 😂 Maybe it was the weather. Temps dipping into the single digits made me roll my eyes at my running shoes. Instead I did strength training for a few days until my mojo high returned. Today though, I'm back and it feels sooo good+ my time is faster than a week ago. Thank goodness. In addition, I'm wearing a different pair of leggings from @glyderapparel included in @yogaclubbox. They are FREAKIN AWESOME!! These leggings are incredibly comfortable, flexible and just right!! Soooo went into the gym this morning with so much confidence. I left defeated. I got up earlier than I normally do and I didn’t eat anything. I use to be able to run on an empty stomach....not anymore. Plus I’m not use to running on a treadmill where I can see just how slow I really am going. I let it all mess with my head. I let it control me. So I only got two miles running. But I refused to let it completely defeat me. I hoped on the bike and rode three miles. So I technically got 5 miles in. I’m going to try again Monday. If at first you don’t succeed, try try again! I cannot let this defeat me. I will NOT let my mind win! My body is strong and it can run. Tomorrow I turn 30....and I’m already accomplishing goals I had for 30! I get emotional just thinking about making the exact journey that Martin Luther King, Jr and U.S. Representative John Lewis took across the #edmondpettusbridge in 1965 where marchers were violently confronted. First speed workout of the cycle. 400 m intervals at 6:30 pace with 400 recovery at 10 min pace. It was hard, but manageable. Was not sure how I will do after a speed intervals swim practice last night, with a lot is 25 yard sprints with a lot of kicking with and without fins. --------- Post workout meal included protein to kick start muscle recovery and carbs to replenish depleted glycogen to prep for tomorrow'a long swim practice and easy recovery run. ------------ If you are training by Hanson's and in weeks 5-7 or getting close to it you might feel very tired. I find, from personal experiencing and using Hanson's since 2014, that weeks 5-7 are the hardest. Honeymoon is over, really hits, lots of hard work ahead and fatigue starts to accumulate. Do not give up and keep on working, by week 10 or so it will get easier and you will reach next fitness level and will be surprised how great you feel. You go! You are doing awesome! One of the best things I have found for working on running technique and preventing injury are 30 minute barefoot ( vibram ) runs on a treadmill once or twice a week. Just a nice easy pace and try to pick up the feet quickly. At first, I did a mile and I could feel all the foot muscles saying “ what the hell was that?”. But in a short period of time it became very comfortable. Flashback Friday! In the year since this post I have PR'd all my distances and started what I swore I never could: training for a marathon. Can't wait to see what's to come! ....................................................... At age 15 I laughed at a PE coach who said I should run track. I'm not a runner, not an athlete, not a joiner. At age 25 I joined a gym with a friend and told her she could run on the treadmill while I walked. I'm not a runner. At age 35 I have more lines on my face and more inches on my waist, but I am stronger and faster than I've ever been in my life. I'm a RUNNER. I'm an ATHLETE. Running has been hella difficult lately, as my posts have clearly indicated. I’m not going to go into that again, but I do want to highlight that somehow, I’m still moving forward. I am still running, still lifting weights, doing what I have to do at work, going to therapy, and taking things one moment at a time. . I haven’t been keeping up with everything I’ve planned - trying new things, going back to NP, etc - but I’m doing what I need to do to get through the day and week. . Come with me on a trip down memory lane this morning. The photo on the left is from my very first run ever. I ran two miles, it took me 29 minutes, and I almost vomited twice. I hated running and did not run again for 2 years. If you would have asked that girl if in 4 years she would have ran 3 marathons, she would have laughed in your face. I was the furthest thing from active. The thought of running anywhere execpt to the refrigerator seemed comical. That being said 2 years later I signed up for a 5k. After that I thought I could maybe do a half marathon. And then I knew I could do a full marathon. Years, miles and buckets of sweat later, I realize the only thing separating these two women is faith. If you have enough faith in yourself to take the first step, believe you can do it and put all your trust behind it, ANYTHING is possible. It is about this time of the year that many people start giving up on their New Years resolution to eat healthy and exercise. The excitement has worn off and the real work has started. If you are doubting your sanity when making that commitment to being healthy, please do not give up! You can run the race, lose the weight or accomplish your goal. Just have enough faith to keep trying and putting one foot in front of the other. I promise you, one day you will look back and all those little steps will have lead you to places you can’t even imagine! Have faith and trust the process. If I can do it, so can you!! #havefaith #dontquit #fbf #iloveyou
