I've been feeling all the funks those last days. This is Teri, she has a Great story!! 😀🎉 Like so many others, I have been riding the YO YO rollercoaster for most of my life. "Chubby" as a child, and as an adult always trying to loose that last 15 to 20 pounds. Finding success for a short time, only to find those extra pounds slowly returning, one pound at a time. I became a master of self deception, thinking as the weight returned, I was "okay". But in truth ,I was living a life of unmindfulness, which lead to starting over and over again with another "diet". I remember when I was a young nurse I loved taking care of OB and pediatric patients. Now as I am sitting in the front row of watching my folks, their friends and yes, myself age, I have a new passion. To live life as my healthiest self. For each of us, that means something different. I have finally found the program that embraces the mindful changes that we need to successfully change our habits and lives, for the long term. Bruchetta Eggplant with Tofu 🙌 Ingredients 30 oz Mori-Nu® Silken extra-firm tofu*, cut into ½” cubes 1-½ cups raw, unpeeled eggplant, cut into 1” cubes 1 cup (1-2 medium 2-3/5”) plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped ½ cup scallions (3-4 scallions), chopped 2 Tbsp fresh basil leaves, chopped 2 tsp olive oil ¼ tsp garlic powder 1 clove garlic, minced Non-stick cooking spray Dash of salt and/or pepper (optional) *Tofu can vary significantly in its nutritional content, depending on the type and brand. Direction Preheat oven to 400° F. Lightly mist a large (or two medium) non-stick baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray until lightly covered. Place eggplant and tofu, well-spaced, in a single layer on baking sheet. Lightly drizzle olive oil over eggplant and tofu. Sprinkle on garlic powder. Bake 7-10 minutes. Flip and bake an additional 7-10 minutes, or until eggplant is tender when tested with fork. In large serving bowl, combine tomatoes, scallions, garlic, and basil. Add eggplant and tofu. Salt and pepper to taste if desired. Toss gently to mix. Serve and enjoy. This is why I do what I do. To help people progress not only physically but mentally. Your mental battle can be a really big one. I'm so happy I get to share & help @t_____bag on her journey. She's amazing & has a really great attitude towards life. Having come to me only 8 weeks ago, we have made some pretty awesome progress. She was working ALL the time then going to umpire like 6 netball games in a row, go to the gym (With no routine), really late sleeping patterns, drink beers & no proper knowledge of nutrition... I think we've really smashed some goals out of the Park. Tara said, she use to get yelled at across the street because she was overweight & would get called a downgrade. This just breaks my heart. No one should EVER do that. I'm really humbled to help her achieve such a great mental state. But at the end of the day, she has put the WORK in & really focused to prove some dicks wrong. I'm so happy for her (not just the proving dicks wrong but the fact she's living her best life.. and it'll just keep getting better) 😄 Within the 8 weeks Tara has also gone on 2 holidays (lucky her) and even trained & eaten better while away. If you've got a goal & MAKE it happen, you'll reap the benefits. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING! 🔥🙏

It's raining in Shanghai today so instead of letting the rain get me down, I'm taking full advantage of the opportunity to treat myself to a nice, relaxing day in... oh yes! Starting with my DIY mask. You can create your DIY mask by taking a spoonful of powder clay, adding filtered water, apple cider vinegar, two drops of your fave essential oil, and sesame oil or Jojoba oil. If you have oily skin, stick to just water. Combine all ingredients into a paste and apply to face. Let sit for max 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water, and apply your homade moisturizer. P.S. Make sure that you’re using plastic, glass, or wooden bowls and spoons. The problem with metal bowls and spoons is that they can interfere with the negative charge of the mask, which would rob you of all the mask’s benefits! Small moments matter. So many people I’ve worked with have the belief that they have to do a 90 min yoga class, get a massage or meditate on a mountain to get the benefits of relaxation. They struggle to make the time so don’t do anything. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE all those things but I also wanted to point out that the small things help too 😀 Lying outside in the sun for 5min until Liv jumped all over me helps adds to the calm. Sitting and Consciously breathing, pausing and enjoying a cup of tea, doing a 10min meditation audio, sitting at the beach for 10min etc etc are all small things you can do (I do) that really help get out of the stressed busy state into more clarity and calm. Dear person I yelled at while running: . . I’m not crazy, I’ve just been listening to way too many motivational podcasts lately!! This is referring to the “Get it, Mama!” situation as described in my IG stories 🤦🏻‍♀️ . . I’m trying to make more conscious decisions around how I spend my time and where I pull my energy from. SAD season is coming, and on my 3rd nap of the day yesterday (sleep when the baby sleeps??) my wife gently suggested I try a run instead. . . That run was glorious and energized me way more than a teaser of a 20 minute nap would have. So today instead of downing my usual 3 cups of coffee and desperately clinging to any form of nap, I bundled up my little B man and went for a run in the rain. . . So, this post is to remind me that a) sometimes the less desirable choice will have more powerful effects, and b) don’t yell at strangers in the park, no matter how motivational your message.

All information that we allow in to our body, irrelevant of form is treated in 2 ways, that of nutrition or that of toxin, and YES… I am including input from all bodily senses. Of course poor food nutrition is one of the biggest prognostic factors for wearing your body down to the point it has developed a disease.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ SCOPE 🔀⁣ •••⁣ For this reason, I’ve made it a bit of a habit over the last 5 or so years to ask the medical doctors that I have worked with about their nutrition education, to which the most impressive answer I have received was “I think maybe 3 lectures” as he reflected on university 30 years beforehand. ⁣ ⁣ In fact, I recently asked a good friend of mine whom graduated the month before from medical school, “As one of Australia’s newest medical doctors, what is the latest nutrition education being taught”... She said, “I remember maybe 1 lecture and I can confidently say that you should get more fibre”... and that was it.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ TAKEAWAY 📦⁣ •••⁣ This post is simply to illustrate that whenever a doctor, nurse or medical practitioner disregards a dietary choice you’ve made or rolled their eyes at you because you’ve heard that this food or that food has bad effects on their body or might have caused your problem, that they are NOT the authority to be passing judgement or advice on your food. ⁣ ⁣ For the most part, excluding doctors that have gone out and obtained proper nutrition knowledge , these doctors know as much as your bus driver does about nutrition and I encourage you to ask a person familiar with medical nutrition about the fuel you’re putting into your body.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 🍇🥑🍄⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #nutritionaltherapy #doctor #nutritionist #medicalnutrition #healthyfood

The couple that slays together stays together! 😍 I think most of us feel like working towards a huge goal with someone else helps with accountability and motivation. We were sick and tired of being sick and tired. Our health wasn’t good, our mental state wasn’t good, and frankly, we were worn out. What a change from yesterday! I was looking forward to my workout today because of how I feel when I'm done. And how do I feel afterwards? Amazing! Today was a full body workout that flew by, followed by some much needed flow and stretch. I do love a good workout, but I what I love even more is how I feel in my body. I feel stronger and surer. Even with modifying. I am able to reach for more and feel gratitude when I get it. And workouts 69 & 70 are in the books. Halfway through Phase 4! So yeah, today was a good day.

Weight loss... an interesting subject. How to lose weight when it seems impossible or when you’ve tried everything?! I am surely not an expert on this, but I will share what I know ☺️ 1. Obesity and malnourishment are based off the same thing: absorption. You are not properly absorbing, assimilating, utilizing, and excreting nutrients. How do you fix this? Clean out your gut. Eat a high fruit detox diet, and take herbs to clean and restore the colon and also to destroy parasites and harmful bacteria. You could also try some probiotics, enzymes, and HCL to help with digestion. Then when you start properly digesting, your body will let go of unwanted weight and function way better! 2. STRESS- this is a huuuuuge contributor to weight gain and also absorption. When you’re stressed, you release cortisol which causes hormone disruption, adrenal fatigue, digestion issues, kidney issues. you name it. Start noticing triggers, what is your daily mood? Stressed, or joyful? Take more vacations, adventures, and have fun! We only have one life, let’s enjoy it. 3. Hydrate!!! We are all dehydrated 😣 inside and outside of our cells. Lemon water is great to hydrate with but what really gets into the cells is juicy fruits and veggies and their juices. Juice it up people!!! 4. Exercise- first of all, you definitely don’t want to do any type of exercise that stresses you out. You don’t want to be at work all day and then go to the gym and feel more stressed! That will do more harm than good. The goal is to decrease stress! What feels like a loving workout to you? A walk around the lake? Yoga? Weightlifting? Do what feels good to YOU. 5. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Love yourself. Start looking at yourself through that lense. Love yourself enough to follow your intuition and do what you know you need to do, whether that is change your diet, talk to a specialist, try a cleanse, buy a juicer, etc. You are worth the time and energy it takes to make changes. Love yourself and your body will start changing, I promise! ❤️

Day 35! Today has been hard. This week has been hard. I walked alone to clear my head. I always listen to music, it’s usually always different too. But today these two songs were on repeat. This past year I made some hard changes in my life. I am fighting an uphill battle and honestly I don’t know how I have made it through what we have gone through. Well actually I do. I have learned to rely on Jesus through it all. At this point I’m not going into details maybe one day I will. But the truth is God only knows what we’ve been through. And it’s comforting to know that He loves us in a way we cannot understand and that he hold our future. How are you doing? To many this question is just a formality. Very few really want you to explain how you really feel. My week was long, my eyes are puffy from steroids and missed sleep, and I’m about to go to bed 🛌 two hours early so I can get that “sleep with yo mouth open sleep.” . . Wait, Really! La dieta keto, ketogenic, cetogénica o cómo la conozcas es una dieta que se caracteriza por ser alta en lípidos, adecuada en proteínas y baja en hidratos de carbono la cual provoca CETOSIS. La dieta cetogénica ha existido desde tiempos bíblicos y era utilizada en forma de ayuno (el cual también produce cetosis) para el tratamiento de las convulsiones. Tiempo después se investigó un poco más acerca de ésta y durante mucho tiempo fue el tratamiento principal para la epilepsia perdiendo su popularidad cuando aparecieron nuevos antiepilépticos. 💊 Existen varios tipos de dieta cetogénica (clásica, de TCM, atkins modificada) para el tratamiento de la epilepsia y otros trastornos hormonales, sin embargo no es necesaria para la pérdida de peso ya que es un plan complicado de seguir y NO es del todo necesario para mejorar la composición corporal ❌. ¿En qué consiste la cetosis y por qué bajo de peso al llevar un plan “keto”? Normalmente el cuerpo utiliza como fuente principal de energía a los hidratos de carbono, al no tener suficientes, se utilizan las grasas y como resultado del metabolismo de las grasas se obtienen cetonas. Al tener al cuerpo en este estado se forza a utilizar la grasa como fuente de energía. Igualmente con un déficit calórico de la mano. Efectos a corto plazo: deshidratación, hipoglicemia, vómitos, acidosis metabólica. Efectos a largo plazo: estreñimiento, hipercolesterolemia, litiasis renal, miocardiopatía, pancreatitis y trastorno de la coagulación. Es indispensable que si decides llevar una dieta realmente cetogénica, estudies los pros y contras y sobre todo que te asesores ya que es importante un monitoreo de análisis bioquímicos.‼️

Sardines - one of the highest food sources of those all important omega 3 fatty acids. Also high in B12, selenium, calcium and lots of other trace minerals. Hard to believe that such a scavenger fish packs so much nutritional punch! Now I know that the thought of eating them isn’t on the top of everyone’s list - in that case, some other excellent sources with a similar nutrition makeup are mackerel and salmon, so you could swap this recipe out for either of those if sardines are not your thing. If they are 😃 then give this a go for a scrummy and easy lunchtime option: 1 can sardines in olive oil (I used the Brunswick sardines) 1/2 lemon Marinated feta Parsley Spelt Sourdough, toasted Sea salt & pepper. Combines the sardines and lemon juice and season with s&p. Top your toast with the feta, sardines & parsley and then season. Add in some chives too if you have some - they would make it 👌👌 Are you a sardines lover? What’s your fave recipe using them? Would love to hear!

It’s crazy to believe that was me on the left only a few months ago. I feel like I have completely changed as a person from the inside out! You can lose weight. You can be that fit girl. Being fit is not some unattainable dream. Honestly the only real thing stopping you is you. These two pictures are almost a year apart on the left October 30,2019 and on the right September 8th. On left I was overweight for my age and height at my heaviest feeling lazy sluggish and not liking what I see in the mirror. I use to think well most of family is “big” so I guess that’s going to be too 🤦🏻‍♀️ remind you I was all was the skinny girl” that never gained weight even after having two kids. Now I feel amazing full of energy and happy with what I see and how I look and feel. I’ve have never been so excited to workout or challenge my body to get better results. My lifestyle changed and I’m loving it. I’ve been able to achieve my results with sticking with my Herbalife products, eating healthy with my meal plan and some exercise. I’ve lost 15 pounds of fat and gained 4 pounds of muscle I’m not where I want to be but I’m getting there. Investing in Your Health is Investing in Yourself! We may take out loans for education, a house, car, new x, y, z. We update our wardrobe or décor according to the latest fashion trends, buy the latest technology item or subscribe to some monthly club. We invest in our material happiness on a daily basis for our entire life to “Keep up with the Jones’s”, but how long will you get to enjoy those things if your are not healthy? We need to learn to invest in our health just as we invest in all these other experiences. The difference? These other items are trendy and are often obsolete before they are even worn out. Our health and our bodies on the other hand are wearing out daily and have a shelf life. How long we operate at optimal levels is up to us and depends on how we invest in ourselves NOW! YOU are the President, CEO and Manager of your health and life. Like these other titles, you SHOULD have experts or someone extremely knowledgeable in the areas of health (nutrition, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, connection and environment), BUT you should also have a baseline of knowledge and practice established in these areas. That way when an issue arises, you can consult your expert in that field. In the end, YOU are the one to make the final decision on what needs to happen based on your lifestyle. In other words, when you consult with your medical doctor, friend, nutritionist or health coach, make sure they heavily know your life’s story, goals and ambitions. If they do not take the time to really get to know you, how can they advise on what is truly best for you. Just like we pick out our significant other and friends based on their qualities and what they bring to the relationship, we need to pick out our healthcare team in the same manner. Your healthcare team should care about your past and what you want for your future and spend the time figuring it out WITH you, not FOR you. Invest in yourself now so that when you retire, you are not to sick, overweight or tired that you spend all your time and money at your doctor’s office and hospital. What is one thing you can do today to start investing in your health? Here’s to getting Healthy on Purpose my friends!
