This may just look like a plate of food to most but to me this plate is happiness, nutrition and love. - My biggest motivation throughout this journey is my daughter ♥️ before I had her I wasn’t all about my health like I should have been. Even throughout my pregnancy I wasn’t the healthiest eater. I had the mind set of well I’m sharing calories so I can eat whatever. I didn’t realize the struggle that would come afterwards. Getting my baby weight off has been real hard. I’m finally to my pre pregnancy weight but sadly I have a ton more weight to loose because I let myself go way before I even got pregnant. I never want my daughter to struggle like I have. I want her to be as healthy as can be. Yes she still has her chicken nuggets and French fries but the key is moderation! I want her to live a fun life like all the other kids but with limitations. Here’s my one year olds lunch today and she ate every bite! Okay Instapeeps, whose up for a little friendly debate? 🤓 Topic of discussion: Drinking water while eating.🥤🍴 Do you believe that in terms of digestion it is better to drink water with your meals or to not drink anything at all? I have read things supporting both sides and still not 100 percent sure either way. It sounds like the "do not" argument stems from ayervedic principals where they advise to not drink water 2 hours before or after eating so as to not interfere with digestion. Alternatively, most Western doctors or nutritionist might argue that water actually aids in the digestion process. I personally think that I notice I feel better when I do not drink water with my meals (despite my photo😜), but am still not convinced either way. I also just love putting an entire bag of spinach on the stove and watching it cook up to nothing. Lately I’ve been throwing it in my smoothies to make them thicker and more creamy. YUM. Okay so this isn't on a pretty plate this tine but don't act like ya'll don't use paper plates from time to time. Or every day 😄 This was a very tasty turkey burger I had made yesterday. I spreaded some dijon mustard on the bun and added some sauteed collard greens and spinach.On top is a sunny side up egg with some crispy sauteed avacado. Then I added a little parsley for aesthetic purposes, duh 😉 I also made my own bread from a recipe I sort of just made up which I will be posting the recipe for that later on this week. I want to thank everyone for the support and I hope you continue to enjoy my food as much as I do! 😊

⚡️Are energy drinks good for your health?⚡️ I think this is one of my favourite topics to discuss, as you have probably seen by now on my Instagram stories I drink a can of @monsterenergy almost every day and I must say that I bloody love them 😅🤤 but are they really good for you or is it just all of their fancy marketing? I can’t really go in to the medical aspects as I am not qualified! So I’m only going to tell you my personal view and experience on this. So first of all I must mention the fact that I’m high tolerant to caffeine so personally I would probably have to drink about 10 of them to feel anything. Not everyone likes to drink energy drink because of many factors. For example they can be high in sugar and contain lots of stuff that our body don’t require but before you jump in to saying all that please do me a favour and get in the habit of reading the label! I usually prefer to consume the zero calories one which has no trace of sugar and has only 11 calories and has some extra vitamins and few aminos inside and plus it tastes super good. Now that being said I would not advise these for those that do not drink caffeine or suffers from different medical issues and underage youngsters ( stay away from it 😅 ) That being said ... the only thing that you can do for your health is take a better decision when you buy food not just energy drink, one energy drink is not going to do much difference to your body as long as you don’t suffer from medical issues and please stop listening to all the crap that other people say and check the label of any product if you don’t know what it is scan it though google and you might learn a think or two. I really hope it helps make take a better decision though in your personal health. I don’t use a recipe, rather my intuition to throw things together👩🏼‍🍳. ⠀ ▫️⠀ Here’s what’s always in my guac⠀ ⚡️avocados (duh) ⠀ ⚡️tomato ⠀ ⚡️lime ⠀ ⚡️garlic powder ⠀ ⚡️jalapeños ⠀ ⚡️red onion ⠀ Sometimes I’ll add different things depending on what we got. Perfect way to end a day of eating! Porky wights chipolatas, greens with butter and spinach and mushrooms in a cream and boursin sauce. Food is medicine. It is a very powerful tool for us to take full advantage of and utilize. If we dig a bit deeper, we understand that food can either make or break us. It can hold and support us strongly and in a high regard if we integrate it into our lives properly OR, it can put us into a downward spiral if we choose to treat it in an improper manner. Regardless, if we take a good look at ourselves with our eyes wide open we can see where we need improvement in our dietary regimes and where we are succeeding. If we do not practice balance in our diets and if we do not eat a mostly whole food diet it will show up in other areas of our lives. It can show up in our relationships (with others and self), our finances, our career, and of course our physiology (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually). OMO !! (oh my oatmeal)⠀ ▫️⠀ If you guys know anything about me, you know I LOVE a good bowl of oatmeal. I just can’t think of a better way to start off my day! ⠀ ▫️⠀ If I know I’m going to be busy in the morning, I like to make sure I get in a thicc bowl of oatmeal ;) to fuel me for what’s ahead. One way I add some protein is by adding protein powder and collagen. I also put in a little bit of peanut butter. I like to add chia seeds for additional fiber & omega 3s. Today I topped it with some blueberries, raspberries & strawberries. A special add on this morning was a caramelized banana 🤤⠀ ▫️⠀ Put a banana in a saucepan with some ghee and add cinnamon. In less than a minute you’ll have a decadent banana for your oatmeal. ⠀ ▫️⠀ I know oatmeal can get a bad rep because we like to demonize entire food groups: right now carbs. 😬 BUT whole oats are a fantastic source of minerals & antioxidants!
