Sooo I haven’t been the nicest to myself lately. And I decided to actively take back a healthy mental state. I love these tik tok dances, they are a blast for me to learn and honestly a great workout😂. I took so many videos of me doing this one and I hated all of them because all I could look at was my flab. But I have flab that moves and it moves because I move. My "workout" buddy and dinner. Day 3 of the #whole30reset is in the books. Still not feeling the hangover, which I'm thankful for! Today I did get my first cravings. I really wanted a bagel for some reason. So I did the banana test: would a banana satisfy for or only that bagel? The answer was bagel so I didn't eat. I did have a snack later in the afternoon of pineapple and strawberries (same concept as the banana but I didn't but any this week). I need to get better about eating more in my earlier meals so I'm not eating a crap ton at dinner. Anyways, dinner is pork loin, sweet potato, mashed avocado (with lemon juice, sea salt and pepper), and cucumbers. Vegan SNACK IDEA!🤤TAG someone who should try this SNACK!😎 ➖ 👉 Today, I have for you a HEALTHY VEGAN SNACK IDEA! Chickpeas are a super healthy LEGUME and they're also pretty versatile that's why they're so popular! You can not only do HUMMUS with chickpeas but also a simple SNACK like this one! SAVE the RECIPE & TRY it out, yourself! 😋👌 ➖ 🔥HOW TO: First, you'll need the INGREDIENTS: 2 cans of chickpeas (canned because they're already cooked), just make sure to drain and rinse them really well until completely dry, next 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons coconut oil and optional if you like you can add 1 teaspoon vegan Worcester sauce to enhance the flavor! Now, after draining the chickpeas, add them to a bowl along with the oil. The other spices are supposed to be added after baking since they might get burn. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet and bake for around 25 minutes. After that put the baked chickpeas in a bowl again and add all the other ingredients from above and mix everything well together. Okay for real though who here gets 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day I know I probably get 3 full servings, and it’s for real never a wide variety We get what’s cheap, easy, in season, or what tastes good, for me that means literally eating bananas, broccoli, carrots, and asparagus- rarely do I venture out 😂 lol So what’s the problem here? Our bodies NEED all of the micronutrients to function. If I were to eat the way I do long term- I may not know of many nutrient deficiencies over a period of time since my diet rarely ever changes- I know this from my nutrition class in college, I was deficient in so many nutrients I never would’ve guessed unless I tracked it all So that’s why I drink my greens! This has 11 servings of fruits & veggies per serving and doesn’t taste like trash, saves a lot of money from buying that many different fruits & vegetables- and my time preparing them NO this doesn’t replace a healthy diet! Diet is always number 1 priority- if you aren’t making an effort to eat vegetables in some form- that’s the first thing to focus on! Supplements are only that- to fill in the gaps we are missing in our eating patterns- but fiber and true nutrition comes from the fruits & veggies themselves Because I know I give my body the right food- but I still have lots of missing pieces! A drink isn’t a magic juice to lose weight or feel better- it’ll never outweigh a healthy diet!

Plyo. 😭 ✨ I really struggle with our Plyo workouts. Always. Being overweight makes this a huge struggle but I’m doing a lot better than I used to when we first started these workouts. I push myself and use lots of tape for my ankles for support. I tried a brace but that made my foot feel like it was just outright going to fall off from no circulation. But tape works great. 💪🏻 ✨ No matter how hard the workout is, do it anyway. You won’t regret it! Also for those who don’t know what Plyo is, this is the definition below. I never knew what it was till I started doing it. I wanted share with you how this past month I saw a changed! 😲 Only women will relate to this, but I have been struggling with hormone imbalance for a long time. Some may not realize they are even struggling with that . I used to have a 7 day menstruation😣 I hate it😭 But, this past month I had a 5 day period for the first time I don’t know if anybody can relate but to me that is a big difference 🙌🏼 I don’t feel as moody like before 😆 and I have more energy than before. I do. ⁣ ⁣ I love adding protein powder to muffins, sauces, soups, etc to make sure I hit my protein goal for the day. Remember: protein helps us to maintain and build those beautiful muscles we work so hard + helps keep us fuller longer so eat up. ⁣ ⁣ My fave brands for smoothies and baked goods are @toneitupnutrition and @drinkorgain . For sauces and soups, I’ll use sacha inchi protein or @toneitupnutrition marine collagen since it’s tasteless 😏⁣ ⁣ Alright I bet you’re like hush ya face Mel, get to the recipe okuuurrrr. ⁣ ⁣ Here ya go: ⁣ ⁣ Ingredients: ⁣ 1 box of @simplemills banana muffin mix ⁣ 1 cup water ⁣ 2 eggs (can use flax or chia eggs or get the Bob’s red mill egg replacer if vegan- which is what I used)⁣ -2tbs unsweetened apple sauce ⁣ -4 scoops vegan vanilla protein powder (I used orgain) ⁣ -4 tbs peanut butter powder ⁣ -jelly for topping⁣ ⁣ Directions: ⁣ -preheat oven to 350°⁣ -make your vegan egg and set aside. Then blend the mix, apple sauce, water in a bowl. It’s really 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁...⁣ ⁣ I hear it all the time, women eating clean and working out yet the 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 😩⁣ ⁣ “Do I need to starve myself?”⁣ ⁣ “Is something wrong with me?”⁣ ⁣ “Why does it seem so much easier for everyone else?”⁣ ⁣ The GOOD NEWS…𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁! ⁣ ⁣ It’s just that you’re not looking at the whole picture. ⁣ ⁣ There are SO MANY factors that go into health, weight-loss, and yes, even specifically reducing belly fat.⁣ ⁣ Which is why I’m all about a 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵. ⁣ ⁣ When I first start working with a coaching client, I have an in-depth questionnaire so I can get a holistic view of what’s going on in their life. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not just gonna ask you to send me your food diary and if you got your workout in. ⁣ ⁣ I assess your sleep, your mindset habits, gut health, stress levels, energy levels, and so much more!⁣ ⁣ 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 - did you know when you’re sleep deprived 😴 your hormones go out of whack!? ⁣ Your hunger hormone (ghrelin) actually spikes ⏫ and your appetite suppressing hormone (leptin) goes down! 😭⁣🤬 ⁣ Which means 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 that has you reaching for those donuts or other carb-loaded breakfast😳⁣ ⁣ And if that weren’t bad enough - lack of sleep spikes cortisol which is that evil stress hormone linked specifically to BELLY FAT! 🤯 UGH!! ⁣ ⁣ So next time you’re stressing out (which again spikes cortisol) give yourself a break 🙏⁣ ⁣ Take a step back and focus to create balance for yourself...⁣ ⁣ It could be as easy as just closing your eyes for 10 mins of meditation🧘‍♀️ to lower stress instead of killing yourself for an hour on that treadmill. ⁣ ⁣ If you can relate, feel stuck, or like you’ve tried everything and nothing is working, feel free to reach out to me and I would love to give you some extra pointers. ⁣ ⁣ Remember - 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱, sometimes you just need someone to see something you may have overlooked 😉⁣ ⁣ Cheering you on my friend 💗👏

ALDI HAUL FOR THE WEEK 🛒👇🏼 •Stocked up on TONS of nuts for snacking & baking because my stash was low! Nuts can be super pricy but they are way more affordable at ALDI. 🌰🥜 •LOVE this freeze-dried mango so much🥭 •Also had to restock on honey x 2 because I've been making my honey whole wheat banana bread so much lately! And all of the dark chocolate chips 🍌🍞🍫 •Canned goods: black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce to hopefully make more tomato soup soon! 🥫 •Big spring mix + strawberries + blueberries + feta cheese + pecans/walnuts + poppyseed dressing for the most delicious summer salad! Throw some salmon on it and call it a meal 😛🥗🍓🧀 •Sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts for roasting 🍠🥬 •Used this cilantro lime chicken in some quesadillas this week and it was bomb 🌯 •Asian chopped salad -- a super easy lunch or dinner option! (Yummy with chicken, too!) I like to add extra sliced almonds, onions or other veggies we have, plus a drizzle of almond butter to give it a Thai Peanut vibe. So good - Ethan loves this one too 🥗 •Cauliflower and snap peas -- I roasted these to go with jasmine rice and smoked salmon with a delicious sauce over the weekend. Incredible combo 🐟🍚 •Eggs -- I have 2 scrambled eggs with greens in them every morning! IMAGINE... What would it look like to not worry about food all the time? To never diet again? Or worry if you missed a workout? How amazing would it be to feel the freedom of enjoying a holiday/birthday/vacation without thinking about FOOD?⠀ ⠀ If you are anything like me you have tried every "diet" on the planet. If there was a "program" out there, I tried it. Low carb, no carb, vegan, low fat, high fat, high protein, low calorie, keto, cabbage soup, grapefruit, the next best super fat burner pill... some food was always "bad", cut out, restricted, “off limits” 🙅🏼‍♀️ Ever so carefully I logged every calorie in and out. And yet I was always seeking the next newest thing. In fact, I came to the faster way looking for another quick fix, just like always. I saw those transformations and was propelled by the results, thinking this would be just another deprivation I'd endure to get to the goal.⠀ ⠀ Today, 16 months later, so much about my health and my relationship with my body has changed for the better. I realized that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle shift. I learned scientifically proven strategies to help me stay on track. I eat real food and lots of it. I eat the right things at the right times for the right reasons... most of the time! And when I don't, that's ok too. Food is no longer my enemy. I'm no longer locked into 1200 calories a day or married to the gym for hours a day so that I could burn as many calories as possible. I feel at peace. ⠀ ⠀ I wasn't looking for peace when I started this program. I was looking for results. But now that I've found peace, I know it's the best gift I could give you. More than anything, my mission is to help women like you get off the diet roller coaster, learn how to eat real, whole food that nourishes your body and mind, and feel the energy and confidence that you need to thrive in all you do. Made it through my first black diamond run today. The trail had really good flow start to finish. Starting off mellow on the blue runs, and had a nice build up to the more technical stuff of the black run. Although I didn't make it over all the features. Having to walk some of them, or falling over smashing the old vagina on the bar or seat. I can say i felt more confident and comfortable on my bike than I ever have. I love being outside and love even more to be frolicking around the forest. So I am very excited to excel in this sport, and explore more of our beautiful bc terrain.

It's been 6 years since the last time I did Murph for Memorial Day. ⁣ ⁣ Not because I didn't want to honor their sacrifice...I honored other fallen heroes...but because the three times I'd done it is crushed my sole. ⁣ ⁣ This year there was no one else not doing it for me to cling to, so I put my big girl pants on and started to run. ⁣ ⁣ About halfway through the center portion of the workout (100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats) I said to myself "Huh, I don't feel like trash right now. This isn't so bad!" ⁣ ⁣ That led my mind to wander as I moved from rep to rep about WHY...⁣ ⁣ Why wasn't this workout crushing me this year like it had all the other times. ⁣ ⁣ Was it because I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night versus the 5 I used to get? ⁣ ⁣ Was it the 145g of protein, 310g carbs, 70g fat from whole real foods that I eat every day versus the 1200 calorie high protein, low carb, low fat processed foods I was eating before? ⁣ ⁣ Was it the stress resiliency habits I've religiously had in place for almost 2 years versus the whacked out stress ball I used to be? ⁣ ⁣ The answer is YES! ⁣ ⁣ It's all those things combined that not only allowed me to feel amazing and strong during Murph, but that also allowed me to have little to no soreness afterwards. ⁣ ⁣ I'm no better at fitness than you. ⁣ ⁣ I've just figured out how to crush my habits so that I'm set up for success in crushing each day and each workout that come my way. ⁣ ⁣ Happy Hump Day 😘
