WATCH THE GAP. . The gap is where the secret lies to you ACTUALLY making progress on your health and weight loss goals. . The gap I’m referring to is the space between what you KNOW you can be doing, and what you’re ACTUALLY doing on a consistent basis. . What are the basics? . 🔥Get at least 7 hours of sleep. 🔥Drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day. 🔥Eat mostly unprocessed, real food. If you do that consistently, you’ll realize it’s A LOT more important than following a specific diet filled with food made in a lab. 🔥Take time to actively de-stress BEFORE you explode or have a meltdown: meditate, journal, walk on the beach, do yoga, draw pictures of aardvarks. I don’t judge! Just do whatever makes you feel the stress melt away. And do that a lot. 🔥Move your body in whatever way makes you feel strong & alive. Don’t do what Sally loves. Don’t do what Shape Magazine told you to do. Do what YOU enjoy and what challenges YOUR muscles and stamina. 🔥For goodness sake, get some real sun! Not a burn. Not a tanning bed. No baby oil (remember when that was a thing? 😬). But a little daylight does wonders for our moods, circadian rhythm, and immunity. 🔥Awareness of everything. When well-laid plans never see the light of day, it’s the worst, right?...trust me... it happens to the best of us (myself included). Has there been a point in time when your health goals came to a halt because you and your spouse were not on the same page? No worries… you're not alone... . There always seeems to be a lot going on in my #foodphotos ( aside from food) but it can't be helped. I don't think I'll ever be one of those who post the most enticing yumminess - and that's ok - because seeing the positive changes in my new eating journey encourages me to improve everyday!! I feel lighter and stronger. My usual aches have disappeared. I lost the heavy bloated feeling, my belly fat is down - still needs work but I am so happy with what I see, I feel strong and my heart rate is in excellent condition. 😃 Lunch is #friedsardines ( i luv!) in olive oil with scrambled eggs made of 2 eggwhites and 1 egg yolk plus spinach, yellow bellpepper, turmeric and capers. “Most people only talk about how hard losing weight is, but you don’t know how difficult it can be to gain weight as well, for someone like me. I am the thinnest I’ve ever been to the point that not only my clothes have become loose, even my shoes barely fit me anymore. I extremely lost so much weight in a year and it’s nothing to be proud of at all. I learned that mental health is the most important factor in leading a healthy life. Stress and negative emotions are the worst enemy for my health as I slowly lost my appetite and whatever I was eating wasn’t helping. Today I am still learning how to build a strong and positive mental and emotional health as well as controlling my diet. Pushing myself to eat more every meal, trying to increase my appetite, making sure I eat my food regularly at constant timings everyday, controlling my thoughts to reduce stress, maintaining daily routines and sleeping patterns, so much to balance for my body to gain weight. I missed the gym so much! Tonight was such a great workout, even with my foot still being lame. I did 15 minutes on the row machine (I love that thing) then did one of the core workouts my trainer taught me and then did an easy 10 minute walk on the treadmill. Every day is a new day, even if the day before sucked and I’m seriously determined not to let the last month bring me down. The last year has taught me that I’m capable of so so much and I know that’s still true. Now this I would have never done.... but I did. And it was good. Leftover cucumber salad, halloumi and wild sardines in water. Squeezed some fresh lemon juice over it and my dinner was ready. Simple, easy, light, lowfat and I'm satisfied. . . This is the version of myself I strive to be like. I felt so good at this point not only physically, but even more so mentally. For me, these two go hand and hand. When I feel good physically, my mental state thrives too. I have more energy, I’m more positive, I’m happier....the list goes on. Lately, I have been working hard in the gym but slacking in what I’m fueling my body with in the kitchen. I truly think sugar addiction is real and I have always been such a snacker, especially late at night, anyone else? 😅🤷🏼‍♀️ What I’m missing lately is discipline and that’s what I’ve found is the key to seeing results in any aspect of life. There’s a big difference between having balance and over indulging and this is where I struggle. Balance is so so important and in my opinion life is too short not to indulge once in a while, but it sure is a powerful thing to have the discipline to turn something down that you know will make you feel like crap. A month from now we will be on our way to my sister’s destination wedding in paradise (eeeeeek!!)😆🎉✈️🌴and I am so excited to see how I feel after a month of true discipline and balance. I’ll keep track of things that I feel really helped me and in a month from now share any tips and tricks I learned along the way that helped me that could also help someone else too. Over the years I have found that it’s not about comparing yourself to anyone else but instead comparing yourself to the best version of YOU and what makes you feel best and your most authentic self. I am so excited to feel like that strong girl again running on the beach. 🏋🏼‍♀️✨🌞👊🏻🌊🏝 “Discipline is choosing between what you want NOW and what you want MOST.”

It's amazing how something that seems so small, can mean so much! After riding my exercise bike for a bit, I decided to go for a walk. While on my walk I decided to do something I havent done in forever....I ran a 100m dash! Twice! Not fast by any means, but I did it!
