I don't always style my hair but when I do people think it's fake 😅🤷💁 I have so much hair, I style it maybe once a month 🤐 I simply don't have the time to blow dry it for 15-20 minutes, then run a straightener or curling iron through it for another 20 minutes. I also haven't figured out the right products to use so I can wear it naturally curly, without it blowing up into a frizz ball. Most of the time it's pulled back or I'm in a hat 😅 . That being said, the very few times I've worn it down recently I've been asked if it's real 🙈 Yes, my hair is 💯 from my own scalp. Not gonna lie to ya, I come from a line of hairy folks 😂🇵🇸 so how do I keep it healthy and shiny? . . . • A Healthy Diet! healthy fats, fatty fish, berries, seeds, beans. • I use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. • I only shampoo it 1-2X a week 🙈 #momlife • I use essential oils mask 1X a month: Rosemary (hair loss), Lavender, Cedarwood. The trick to eating healthy when you're busy, is making it as easy and quick as possible. 🥙 This salad takes 2 minutes (including clean up time!) and works with any protein in place of the Tuna. Perfect for busy can't- be-bothered days and quicker (and cheaper) then picking something up from a cafe at lunch time. 🥙 Tip: always have salad ingredients on hand that require minimal prep. . . What you need 1/2 Avocado 2 cups mixed leafy greens 1/2 punnet cherry tomatoes Handful of sprouts 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove Squeeze of lemon juice 1 tin tuna or your choice of protein 🥙 Mash the Avo into greens (use it as the dressing) sprinkle garlic over, squeeze generous amount of lemon, add tomatoes, sprouts and tuna and mix really well. Add extra squeeze of lemon and pinch of salt if you like. Makes roughly 1 serve so Double ingredients for 2 or more serves. . I am all about some left overs! My secrets to make them taste as good as the day they were made?? . . . Grains: heat in a pan with a splash of water, over medium-low heat, covered. . . Meat: heat grill pan over medium heat with some cooking spray, place meat in the pan and turn the heat to medium-low. Only leave it on until just heated through to not over cook. Veggies: roast in the oven for 8 minutes or so, or if you want to do it faster you can set the oven to broil. But check it every minute or so to avoid burning. Here's a few strategies to help you rock your Thanksgiving meal. . . 1. ➡️Eat slowly. This is important for many reasons - it aides in digestion, creates mindfulness and allows you to really enjoy your food. 2. ➡️Stop eating when you are satisfied not stuffed. Yes, I know the stuffing is the bomb, that sweet potato casserole is magical and the pies are blissful but eating so much that you are painfully full is not fun. So stop before that happens. 3. ➡️Wait at least 10 minutes before getting seconds. Sit back, enjoy some conversation and drink some water. Really gauge if you are hungry and resist any mindless trips for seconds. 4. ➡️Don't hang out next to the food table. Make your plate and walk away. Too much time near the snack table may cause some snaccidents -get it - snack accidents. 5. ➡️Enjoy yourself. It's one meal and most likely you are sitting down and enjoying the company of friends and family that you might not see often. So enjoy making memories and eating some foods you don't normally eat. . . You can do this. Now isn't the time to be overly restrictive. But it is the time to put to practice/continue easy steps so that you remain in control. . . And now I can't stop thinking about my Thanksgiving meal. I’m happy to say that this particular myth has taken some serious beating over the last several years as I’ve seen the majority of health influencers speak on this topic and denounce previous held beliefs that carbohydrate intake at any point at night leads to greater weight gain than any other point in the day, assuming conditions are equated (aka, calories, etc.). I’m not sure people actually know the reason why this is the case, as the IG community is filled with people not trying to become more educated, but trying to make a quick buck, so they hop onto the latest trend – luckily for us all, science is that trend (hopefully, it sticks around). There are a number of reasons this turns out to be false – carbohydrates are not readily turned to fat, thermodynamics (calories in vs calories out), and carbohydrates are easily used (your body adapts, to a degree). 🤧😷✈️ For those traveling for the holiday season, and do not want coodies from all your fellow airplane/train/bus passengers, now's the time to stock up on some better hand sanitizers. ⠀ ⠀ While the worst of the worst endocrine disruptors are no longer used in commercial hand soaps and hand sanitizers (like triclosan), many of them still contain fragrance (also endocrine disrupting). ⠀ ⠀ Handwashing is always preferred, but when you're traveling and stuck next to a sneezy, snotty passenger, it's not a bad idea to stash one of these in your carry on.⠀ ⠀ I'm generally not into "sanitizer" products, because hello MICROBIOME is uber important, but there ARE times when these products are handy. ⠀ ⠀ If you're an essential oil fan, you can make your own: small spritzer bottle, a little rubbing alcohol, and a few drops of an oil like cinnamon, thyme, tea tree, oregano, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, grapefruit, clove, or peppermint. Sometimes it’s hard to get enough protein in to your diet and these nutella protein balls are such a delicious way to sneak some more in. My favourite recipe has to be plain old Choc Coconut but these are incredible if you’re in the mood for something a little more indulgent (orrrr a little more of a treat 😝) They only take a few minutes to make and are full of protein and nutritious foods 👇🏼 Ingredients ~ 1 Cup of Hazelnuts (150g) ~ 1 Cup of Dates (150g) ~ 1 Tablespoon of Chia seeds ~ 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein (I use our yummy HSE vanilla powder) ~ 1-2 Tablespoons of Cacao Powder ⠀⠀ Pour boiling water over the dates and leave the to soak for about 10 minutes. Dry roast the hazelnuts at 180°C for about 10 minutes. Then rub them around in a clean kitchen towel to remove any of the loose shells. Add the hazelnuts to your blender and blitz until you have a coarse, crumbly nut flour. Then add in the protein and cacao powder and blitz to combine. Drain the dates and add them in, blending on high until you have a sticky paste 🙈 Use your hands to squish and roll the mixture into balls. I made balls that were quite big (about 4 bites size) so I got 8 out of the mixture but you can make smaller ones and get 10-12 out of it 💕 ⠀⠀ E N J O Y B A B I E S 🙌🏽

I finish off with some date syrup for an added sweet taste. ✨ I drink this as much as possible during our cold seasons, as a preventative and when I feel something coming on. Holidays are here, but that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't continue your meal prep 💪🏽. I believe life is about balance, and enjoying some savory food and sweet guilty pleasures makes the world a better place. But, don't let the holidays, the temporary food pleasures, or the people around you, allow you to lose focus of the long term goal (s) you have set. Thursday I will be enjoying a plate of my dads delicious cooking (in moderation - portion control), but prior and after that day it's about being mindful of what I consume and how much of it I consume. Holiday tips to keep you on track with your goals: 1. Eat clean the days leading up to holiday meals 2. Do not stop going to the gym (it's easy to replace the gym with holiday movies on the couch lol) 3. Portion control when eating holiday meals. Enjoy your food but don't binge eat to the point of a coma. 4. Left overs should be given to the dog or turn your turkey (protein) into a healthy meal. But no more munching on pies, Mac n cheeses (my fav), you guys get the point lol. 5. Watch the alcohol intake. You can enjoy, but don't drink until you want to go streaking in the quad 🤣🤓 *in my Will Farrel voice. 6. Use those extra calories to get a tough ass workout in the day after the holiday.
