Let’s talk about “Kohlrabi” - growing up in Israel 🇮🇱 we ate it a lot either fresh or cooked in a warm dish like a potato. But here In Australia I’m proud to say I’ve teach all of my girlfriends about this vegetable they didn’t know it, and every single time I buy it in the shop the people in the till where I’m paying asked me do you know how it’s called ? I said Kohlrabi and They say how do I spell it give me the first letter haha to find it in the system ;) so now they know...hopefully. It’s such a great yummy vegetable that goes so well with lemon 🍋 on top. A pinch of salt if you want ... it’s super healthy for us: Kohlrabi is an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium. ✅ It is high in fiber (5 grams per cup) which helps you feel fuller longer, and is great for your digestive health. ✅ Cruciferous veggies, of which kohlrabi is one, are known for their high levels of antioxidants which help fight cancer and heart disease. I love trying new recipes and I’m trying to make the transition back to a more paleo based menu. I love eating paleo, but struggle to stay on top of the prep and keeping my fridge stocked with lots of produce. Tonight I made a modified version of an Apple Kimchi Salad with Beef recipe I found by @cottercrunch I made the quick kimchi marinade and dressing for myself and served Nick’s salad with ranch. It was amazing!! Definitely will be making this again.

taco tuesday but with a twist 🌮🌮🌮 zuchinni boat enchiladas! ok 🖐🏻🖐🏻 this is going to be a repeat offender in our house. below for the details! . what you need: ground turkey, zuchinnis, black beans, green chile’s, enchilada sauce, cheese, cilantro. . start by browning the ground turkey in a pan. once cooked season with salt and pepper, paprika, cumin, and chipotle chili powder. add a little enchilada sauce and a small can of green Chile’s. add black beans and let simmer. next cut the zuchinni ends off, and cut in half long ways. scoop out the inside of the zuchinni. scoop the meat mixture into the boats. I never want to make anyone feel bad or wrong for choosing one option over the other! . ✖️Three rice cakes and three pretzels have the exact same calories and carbs, but when comparing them side by side, it is very apparent how much more volume you can get from the rice cakes. . 🔥If you are looking to lose weight, but still have a huge appetite, small tweaks to the foods that you chose can help keep you full for longer and give you those results. If you need to gain weight and stuggle eating enough calories due to being too full and bloating, then going with an overly macro-friendly option like rice cakes may not be the best decision for you! . ‼️LAST thing to consider: be mindful of the food you are putting into your body. Macronutrients and calories should not be the only thing you think about when buying a product. READ the INGREDIENTS! When I am trying a new food/snack, the first thing I look at on the label is the ingredient (not the calories)! ✨Learn and grow as you go!✨⠀ ⠀ I was thinking in my workout today where I started 13 years ago and where I am now. I thought about how far I have come. It’s consistency and showing up. Through all of life’s ups and downs. ⠀ ⠀ It was hard when I started and it’s still hard!! It’s not supposed to be easy breezy and that’s what makes it worth it!! Anything worth having takes work.⠀ ⠀ (The current program I am doing is kicking my ⠀ a$$!!! 💪🔥)⠀ ⠀ You have to continue to show up daily and challenge yourself. You will get stronger and stronger and push through the hard. That is where we grow and reach our goals. ⠀ ⠀ I remember going to the gym and having absolutely no clue what to do and I would get so nervous before I went. I didn’t even know how to lift and I had Scott show me things to do. I started with super light weights and then when they felt easy, I picked up heavier weights and so on. I can lift way heavier now than when I started and it took time. I learned on the journey. Same with cardio. I couldn’t even run a full mile and started with 1/4 mile and worked my way up to now I can run 4/5 miles.⠀ ⠀ ❤️ Show up for yourself and keep showing up. Celebrate wherever you are in your journey. Be proud of yourself because when you do this, you are doing something so amazing for your health, mindset and life!!

You’re a loud to indulge every once in a while but don’t punish your body for it. You still need all those nutrients from your regular diet. Do make sure that you move a little today, do your regular workout or if its a rest day get a nice leisurely walk in. 🧡today would’ve been my grad day, but because that isn’t happening I wanted to share part of my commencement speech and my take on how we are shaped by change. (+ a cute pic) The realization of not going back to our normal life and transitioning to virtual school was extremely difficult to cope with. But, in the end, this change felt extremely necessary. Being a part of the class of 2020 and experiencing graduation in the time of a worldwide pandemic brings many different emotions and changes you have to learn to deal with. I truly believe that change is important and has a big impact on growth in our society. Change shapes us into different people, and most of the time, better people. I believe that change can always be beneficial, it just comes down to the way you look at it. Learning to accept change and the reality of losing our senior year has been hard but has taught me alot at the same time. Although this seems unfair, it has taught me to not be afraid of the unknown, because there will always be unknowns in life. This has taught me that I do not need to know all the answers and it has taught me that in the end, everything will play out and life will eventually resume back to normal. And if it doesn’t, we will create a new normal, because that's what we have to do. Things will always change around us, but we must learn how to simply just go with it. We are shaped by change and it will always affect us, teaching us important life lessons, and bettering ourselves as people. happy grad class of 2020🎓
