Sometimes my workout partner needs too much attention. 🙄 . Today was an upper body workout and it felt good to be able to lift heavier and by the end my arms were shaking. 💪 If you wanna change, you gotta do the work! There’s no magic pill or easy way to get healthy or reach your goals. Everyone is different and it takes time and a lot of hard work. But I promise you, it’s so worth it! ☺️

Here’s my #nsv for day 12 of the #novketochallenge. When I was my thinnest, I ran marathons and 20 miles for fun. Now roughly 95 lbs heavier, I am happy with 2 miles! It’s baby steps. #transformationtuesday! It’s been a month & a week and I can actually see the difference when I look in the mirror, in my clothing & of course how I feel . . Every day is not rainbows & kittens. This is a big change, though positive, is still change. An adjustment not only for you but for those around you. I’m learning just how important it is to be patient with not only myself but also my loved ones during this time . . I decided to start journaling. I found it has helped me get out my feelings obviously, but in a way where I can do it thoughtfully. It slows me down from being so upset & really think about why I am feeling this way & asses the situation. Sometimes it completely changes my perspective & I am able to work through my emotions a lot easier & other times I still want to smack myself in the face with the backside of a hammer. At my Couples Wellness Retreat, everyone took turns preparing the food. These couples were awesome! This was what the men prepared. It was a delicious ginger carrot soup with tahini drizzle and blackberry and butternut squash harvest kale salad. They did a magnificent job!! It was absolutely delicious! Way to go guys!!! 😋

INTENSE BOOTY EXERCISE THAT YOU CAN DO AT HOME by @pellofitness - The single leg hip thrust is one of my favorite exercises for the glutes. Why? One, even my strongest clients can get a hard workout from it. Two, you need minimal equipment and in reality, usually you never have to add weight if you have good form. Three, it is safe! - This exercise focuses on shaping the back of the legs and butt all while putting less into the front of the thigh. So, if your goal is to get maximum booty, this is an exercise you need to incorporate:) - Tips for success: 1. Do not look up. Instead look at the wall in front of you like I show in the video. 2. Keep your ribs down. This helps prevent you from arching your back. 3. Squeeze your bum at the top. 4. Avoid rotating. If you can't, then you should probably do this from the floor. Some might call me mad, but there's nothing like when you have the day off work, and you still have the motivation, to wake up super early to attend a couple of gym classes, walk over 2 miles home, sit and write out your meal plan and shopping list, have a shower, plan to go for a long bike ride in a bit, then go to do your food shop for your prep, then to cycle home again. And the prep your food. LOWER AB DEMOLITION By @JoeActivated (READ MORE👇🏽) . Wrap up your ab routine as I normally do with this lower ab demolisher combining these three exercises! AB SCISSORS: 10-20 seconds of reps . AB FLUTTER KICKS: 10-20 seconds of reps . LOWER AB PLANK: 10 – 20 second hold . Repeat this trio three times to get a great pump in. I always recommend doing ab exercises AFTER your main workout IF you’re focused on your primary lifts to aide your fitness progress. Performing abs first will negatively impact exercises that require core stabilization (ex. Squats) and can raise the likeliness of injury because of a fatigued core, which in turn means less lower back stability. . However, as with any weak point training routine, if you’re trying to really get your abs going, train them first before everything else! Just remember that it’ll impact your compound movements!

Last time HHS released the same message was in 2008. It’s a decade reminder. 😃 Would be fantastic to see more on promoting healthy eating and what that means to consumers. DYK - 90% of Americans don’t eat enough wholefoods! 80% of what we eat impacts our health. Highly processed foods dominate the market. 😔 What does that mean to our health?
