Good. - Now, here’s the basic science behind how we lose fat…👇 The whole concept behind dieting (or any phase where fat loss is the primary objective) is to consume less calories than you expend…which is known as creating & sustaining a calorie deficit. Fat loss cannot occur without this deficit…if someone tells you that it can…they’re wrong. 😬 - By eating less calories than you burn (i.e. calorie deficit), your body will then require energy from stored fat to make up for this deficit. Simple enough, right?! Why hire a coach?⁣ ⁣ I’m a coach, and I have a coach.⁣ ⁣ I know how to write an effective workout program. I know how to manipulate my nutrition to support my goals.⁣ ⁣ I know all about protein and carbs and fat. How much fiber I should eat each day and how to identify when foods aren’t being tolerated by my body appropriately.⁣ ⁣ I know when to increase food in a reverse diet and when to pull food in a deficit.⁣ ⁣ I understand the biofeedback markers to look for to identify inflammation, stress, lack of recovery. I know when it’s appropriate to get more aggressive with a protocol & when diet breaks might instead be needed.⁣ ⁣ I know how hormone fluctuations can effect water retention & scale weight. Scale doesn’t move one week? Or maybe it does but it could have been more! It’s easy to get too aggressive and drastically decrease calories or add cardio. A coaches perspective can remind you to look at 𝙤𝙗𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 visual changes and biofeedback that maybe indicates your body is incredibly stressed & actually needs you to chill rather than further stress it.⁣ ⁣ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵⁣ A coach will push you out of your comfort zone more than you ever would. Big changes come from being uncomfortable. A coach will push you to be your very best. This may mean building instead of dieting at first, taking rest days when you used to train 6x a week, or doing the dang sumo deadlifts you hate so much.⁣ ⁣ Having a coach will make you better because a coach won’t let you hold yourself back.

Mushroom & spinach frittata – high protein, keto & vegetarian This is a quick, easy to make mushroom & spinach frittata, ideal for a snack or a meal with salad or vegetables. This mushroom & spinach frittata is a great meal for for when you’re on the run and don’t have time to make a nutritious meal. It’s ideal as breakfast, lunch or dinner – a versatile tasty nutritious meal! This is a high protein meal so is ideal for weight loss and keto diets. Eggs and cheese are a great protein and mushrooms have vitamin B12 which is often lacking in vegetarian or vegan diets. Ingredients: • 4 large flat sliced mushrooms • 1 crushed garlic clove • 2 tbs of olive oil • 1 tsp butter • Cracked pepper and salt • 1 diced onion • 2 handfuls of baby spinach • 12 green pitted chopped olives • 8 eggs • 4 tbs of ricotta or feta cheese Add spices you enjoy eg. Mixed herbs, coriander. Method: 1) Heat the mushrooms, garlic, 1 tsp of olive oil, butter, salt and pepper in a covered frying pan for a few minutes until mushrooms begin to soften. 2) Remove the lid and sauté until tender. Remove from the pan and set aside. 3) Sauté onions in a frying pan in 1 tsp of olive oil under tender. Add spinach and over low heat until wilted. 4) Combine spinach, onion, olive and mushrooms and mix well. 5) In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and ricotta with salt and pepper until eggs are aerated. There should be pieces of ricotta remaining throughout the egg mixture. 6) In a non-stick oven pan, place the vegetable mixture evenly across the base. Pour over the egg mixture to cover. 7) Cooking times will vary, depending on the depth of the tray used. The frittata should be 3 to 6 cm high. Bake at 160 degrees° C for 20-30 minutes or until set. Tasty stir fry with veg and parsnip chips, serves 2: 🍗 ▪️180g chicken breast ▪️100g frozen peppers ▪️100g frozen green beans ▪️1 tsp garlic ▪️1 tsp ginger ▪️1 tsp soy sauce ▪️1 tbsp cornstarch ▪️100ml chicken stock ▪️handful of basil leaves 🍗 1. Fry garlic, ginger and chicken in spray oil for 5 mins. 2. Mix the stock, soy sauce and cornstarch in a bowl then add to the pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 mins. 3. Add the basil then serve with your favourite veg or rice. 283 calories and hardly any protein for tonight’s snacks - I’ve done 9 days straight now of being well over my protein and under my carbs and well under my calories and I’m just craving chocolate!
