I felt guilty going to the gym. Being a first time mom, I didn’t want to be anywhere but at home with my sweet little guy. I used to spend hours in the gym, but now the thought of leaving my baby so that I could workout felt selfish. I was responsible for someone else now, someone other than myself. But I had this burning desire deep within me. A desire to better my body, grow stronger, gain energy, and feel good in my own skin. I tried going to the gym a couple times, but I would rush through my workouts just so that I could get back home to my baby. I felt guilty. Felt guilty leaving him to do something for myself, and guilty that I wasn't prioritizing my health. I was torn. I was desperate. I needed something…something that could give me the best of both worlds. And thats when I learned that I have a gift. A gift of writing workouts that are FAST and EFFECTIVE, and that can be done in my home. Workouts that yield great results without ever having to step foot into a gym, or spend hours on cardio equipment and weight machines. In the past 4 years I have worked out in a gym LESS than 10 times, I have had another baby, and I weigh less now than I did before I had my first. So I’m here to ask you, are you feeling torn? Torn between wanting to workout and not wanting to leave your babies? Do you know that you need to make a change, but you’re lost on where or how to get started? Supersetting- what is it and how can it benefit you? It is one of the easiest ways to boost your workout- regardless of what style of training you do. Supersetting is eliminating the rest between your exercises, then performing consecutive exercises- perhaps 2-4 in a row, before taking a rest. The consecutive sets together are typically referred to as 'rounds'. The rest between rounds needs to be long enough to allow your heart rate to drop somewhere within Zone 2- 114-133bpm. Rounds are designed to skyrocket your heart rate- true "interval" style and this is why the rest between rounds is so vital otherwise you won't be able to complete a high enough volume of work to get that all important "afterburn" we desire where we burn fat post- workout. Here I did 3 moves of all the varying degrees of difficulty and intensity. You can combine moves however you desire but keep in mind that you want to get through the entire round without giving up!! Beginners- try joining together a couple of your moves and see how your body responds. Do only 2-3 rounds. Try some supersets and let me know how you go! shoulders today, decided to superset my exercises and it burns so bad! My chest is still killing like 3 days later so I felt it affected my workout! How long will it take you to reach your body transformation or strength building goals? A few months? A year? Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Sure, you might have a bodybuilding competition to get prepare for. Or you want to slim down for a wedding. Whatever the case may be, then what?! - My point is, there is no finish line. You put in the work, see results, then do more! Strength training and fitness is a lifelong commitment. That is if you want to keep at your strongest and healthiest. There is no final destination. You can achieve your goals. Of course you have to put in the work. Then do it again next week. You must be doing the right things, staying consistent. You wouldn't clean your house once then never have to do it again. Just like you wouldn't move once to stay strong and healthy forever. There will be stops and setbacks along the way. That's inevitable. But the journey doesn't end until your body quits working. - Consistent, repeated work is mandatory! My girl @lexaadamsfit and I know all about that 💪💪

I might be having a little too much fun with this camera. Feeling pretty badass after my workout though. . . I am learning to be gentle with myself, and have compassion for myself. The reason I bring that up here is because I had every intention of working out this morning at 5:30/6am. Instead I slept. I listened to my body, and I knew it would be okay and I would get my workout in later. . . And I did. The old me would have used that as a reason to let the whole day go to shit because I wasn’t perfect. Not today! I said, “it’s okay girl, you’ll workout later, rest.” And didn’t beat myself up. Win! . . 10/60 ✔️

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY! Something you should know about me : I LOVE HIIT. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and I love it love it love it. And do you know the best part? ANYONE can do it and you hardly ever need equipment so it’s easy to do at home, in a hotel or in a park! Studies show that only 15 minutes of HIIT burns more calories than jogging an hour on the treadmill. YES PLEASE. 🙌🏼🙋🏼 This is a great HIIT to try out. You’ll do the exercise for 30 seconds and then you’ll rest 30 seconds before you move onto the next workout. If you don’t think you can do 30 seconds (tell yourself you can and try again! 😘😜) you can do 20 seconds work : 40 seconds rest until you build up your endurance. You’ll repeat these four exercises three times each, or until you hit the 12 minute mark. I will be going into some detail on the blog tonight about why HIIT is so great, so stay posted. As for right now, go HIIT it! 💪🏼💦

HIIT workouts don't have to always be on cardio machines. This morning I mixed up my HIIT cardio with a Bosu variation that really got my heart rate ⬆️! Try this out next time, either 20 seconds on/10 seconds off, or 30 on/30 off! •Alternating side lunges •Bosu jump in/outs (add weight if advanced) •Bosu mountain climbers •Bosu v-crunches •Alternating side lunge with knee tucks . I Drank a cup of ☕️ put a load of laundry in, did the dishes, swept the floor, turned on the IRobot to clean up anything I missed, and took Arrow (my fur baby) on a walk. Heyyyyy here's some hump day HIIT for ya!!! 💦💦💦 You better be out of breathe and sweating profusely by the end. I don't care how fit you are or how much ~cardio~ you do. If you are giving it your all and pushing for those last few seconds of every exercise, you will be dripping by the end.
