LET'S TAKE A SECOND TO ASSESS MY FACE: Am I trying to fart? Trying not to fart? Recoiling from the smell of my fart? Have a sharted perhaps? The struggle is real. Do not and I repeat DO NOT attempt #hipthrusts after birthing a 6lb fart baby because there is "after birth" gas... if u know what I mean. The poor people in the gym. I did my 1st rep & there it was without even being warned. A fart. I was incased in my own fart trap for the rest of the set, as was everyone else at #puregymoval I can only apologise people ๐Ÿ™ Butt I did get in a good cheeky #glutes session ๐Ÿ˜‰ 5 x 5 Hip thrusts 3 x 12 Kettle bell swings 3 x 10 Lat push down (cos I always throw in some upper bod) not filmed cos Well, bit of a boring exercise to film lol 4 x 8 Deficit sumo squats I was also meant to do lying leg curl but ran out of time. Will pop in tomorrow as I wanna have a mini play around sesh and il jus add these in. Don't stress if u don't get your whole workout in. Your muscles don't realise this. They will still adapt & grow if u eat enough, rest, progressive overload & stay consistent. Hope your day is a good one and I'm sure I shall return later with some fart updates. Hip thrusts! ๐Ÿ‘ I've always loved the look and the feel of this excercise, but I always worried that I was doing it wrong for some reason. ๐Ÿ˜• So yesterday @nathanfeely kindly made sure my form was ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ and it felt so good! Started with just 5kg either side, to get used to the movement first; I could still feel my glutes working so hard! ACTIVATION OR FINISHER! I love single leg banded hip thrusts for working my glutes. I usually stick these at the start of my session to get my glutes firing but yesterday I added them with wide squats to finish ๐Ÿ’ช

Trying out my new weightsโ˜บ๏ธ One of my hip thrust set from todayโ€™s booty workout - 130kg x 4 reps! My facial expressions say it all ๐Ÿค’๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜‚ My workout: Warm up: banded crab walks, banded hip abduction, body weight hip thrusts. 1. 90kg x 10 x 2 sets (10 sec pause at top) 2. 110kg x 6 x 3 sets (10 sec pause at top) 3. 130kg x 4 x 3 sets 4. 110kg x 10 x 4 sets 5. Glute bridges 110kg x 10 x 4 sets 6. โ€ข I just really need leg days ๐Ÿ™ƒ despite the 'burning' in my lower legs (which did get a bit better!) I got in a decent session: ๐Ÿ”น 5min banded stair master, mobility, 8x15-30 abduction (paused/slow eccentrics/dropped), 4x12-25drop15 hyperextensions (up to 80lbs today) ๐Ÿ”ธ 6sets: banded 1.5 hip thrusts/bw bridges (8-10/10-15reps), a couple lightweight high rep sets ๐Ÿ”ธ 4sets: kneeling squats/banded bw box squats (12/10reps) ๐Ÿ”ธ 12sets: lying leg curls (8-20reps); variations see below ๐Ÿ”ธ 4sets: db Romanian deadlifts (12-15reps); paused and slow eccentrics with constant tension ๐Ÿ”น hyperextensions and abduction to failure just standing on my feet (stabilizing eg during barbell rows even) is uncomfortable, so I skipped deadlifts (smart Amy! ๐Ÿค“) & did some easier stuff instead + hamstring isolationโ˜๐Ÿฝ leg curls done as follows: 3x15-20 regular sets with short rest times and pointed feet which forces you to go lighter, 4x8+4 heavier sets with the first eight paused and slow eccentrics and then four more regular after rest-pausing, 3x8-10 heavy regular sets, then 2 dropsetted where I did 12-15 regular reps followed by 5 paused lighter ones and then another 5 regulars to burn out (even though the hyperextensions in the beginning pretty much tore my hamstrings up already) - absolutely loved this๐Ÿ”ฅ db RDL in the end, but here a variation I did last time (barbell resetted RDL with negatives, constant tension and elevated toes): you rest the barbell on the floor (use bumper plates) after each rep and as soon as it touches the floor explode up for the positive portion, don't lock out (keep tension) and controlled negatives until reach the floor & repeat! ๐Ÿ’ฆ lol are these explanations understandable at all๐Ÿค” I could not not workout. I had fun still without having expectations + crushing them & I even managed to have some energy left in the end and didn't feel bad about it ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ Also very happy about my low back. the stronger it gets, the less it flares up and ruins my mood (literally it does, sore lower back = grumpy) ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿฝ let's see how it feel tomorrow;p have a great Friyay ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ at Gold's Gym

This is probably one of my favorite leg/glute exercises. It is a great exercise that you can really target your glutes. I have been working on my form a lot with these so it felt great to go a little heavier tonight than I have been doing. Try these out next time you're in the gym! First gym session V 4 months in the gym, post partum. So after 8 months of pregnancy and light training THEN 3 weeks complete rest/ recovery FOLLOWED BY 3 months circuit training in the garden I lost my baby weight but my naturally ectomorph body was skinny and needed some shape again so I joined a gym (my first session pictured on the left). I was skinny with a lot less muscle than pre pregnancy. NOW 4 months on I can see some shape forming and I am getting stronger. It's a long process but it's still progress ๐Ÿ’ช

Took the peach to the gym this morning for a quick booty sesh. Lemme tell you.... It was quick but boy was I sweating like hell! -20lbs Smith machine single lateral step down 4-12 (each side) SS 30lb sumo squat 4-12 - 30lb dumbbell goblet squat 4-12 SS frog hip thrusts 4-12 - 25lbs each side smith machine hip thrusts 3-12 - 45lbs each side smith machine hip thrusts 1-12 - 45lbs each side leg press 4-12

#FBF Lookin like a smurf...it's #form #critique #friday and #Halloween came early. (1) I did put a dry towel after this first set where my back is bc I was sweaty/sliding. Did 3 (or 4?) straight sets of #hipthrusts at 185 lbs after pause squats at 115% bodyweight (bw) for 15 seconds (a pause only requires 3-5 s; getting out of the hole sucked at 15 s/spotter-less this Wednesday so went lower weight/higher reps - still got maj' quad burnage), 3.5" deficit RDLs at 115% bw, Jefferson squats at 115% bw last Saturday hence heavy breathing by all. (2a) Felt like a rate of perceived exertion (RPE) of 8/10 and looked like RPE 8๐ŸคฃI'll play w this weight for a phase of 3-4 weeks but, could recruit my glutes better. Felt my glute medius firing while basically just waking up. Before back squats, I foam rolled my quads and adductors and rushed through some half-assed pun intended glute activation. Squats and RDLs were not sufficient to highly contract my glute medius and should not be relied on solely to "wake that ass up," and so much research corroborates this (b) vertical (90 degree angle at top) shin leverages more weight safely w/o shifting tension that should be applied to your glutes to shear forces along your spine (center of mass shifts from your ass to your back); further out your feet, further along your spine shear forces will be applied (3) After, I did a set of heavy black banded single leg hip thrusts on the side of the bench as a glute activation warm up and the set after this felt a world of difference and was able to slow down at the concentric part and hold longer at the top๐Ÿ‘ #tldr (4) in the same way a drunkard/pothead doesn't know how drunk/high they are until they actually have to function, your body and it's main movers and stabilizers in a given movement (a form of function) doesn't know just how awake or sleepy it is until it has to perform...and by extension, your body doesn't know where its weaknesses are until it actually wakes tf up when it's called to perform...waking up one's body and keeping it awake is a fun task ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธonce you've woken up it's hard to go back to sleep just like once you've been asleep it's hard to want to wake up

#DOMS today has me like โ˜ ๏ธ ~ So what am I loving about doing hip thrusts on the #smithmachine ??? I have done #hipthrusts with a barbell and that's amazing but always intimidating to me when working out solo, and I def love using the leg curl machine and throwing in a #bosu, but have maxed out the weight... I love this version because the width of the bench is so narrow that it forces my form to stay on point my feet are hip width apart (I have very narrow hips so it works for me but may need to be modified for someone with a more feminine build) and facing this direction on the smith allows my hips to travel up on a plane that seriously targets my #glutes over #quads or even #hammies. Each day we will share posts that show a favourite hip hinge variation outside of the conventional deadlift. ***** This exercise combines a sled drag with a hip hinge. ***** Attach a strap to the sled. Make sure there is tension/no slack in the strap. Hinge your hips, and then extend your hips by squeezing your glutes. When you do this, the sled should move forward. Take a step or two forward. It really does help me feel like โ€œmeโ€. Gives me time to be selfish and headspace to concentrate on me. I do hope it takes less that 3 years to get it all back and to start making improvements. It took 32years to feel comfortable with looking in the mirror. And that was down to taking control and working hard to create something I liked seeing. Hip extensions. Great exercise. Note the difference between back and hip extensions. For optimal glute activation setup the bench a little lower, tuck in the chin (this will make you round forward a bit, preventing lower back overextension on top) and thrust those hips into the bench. If you're a guy: imaging busting a woman, its basically the same movement but it burns better. If you're a spartan woman but have a non-lifter boyfriend: same thing. Try fast tempo, slow tempo, iso hold at the top, with and without resistance bands, 1 1/2 reps, pauses and continuous motion...
