#pregnantwhole30 R2D1! Started the morning off with a #fatfueled #pumpkinspice coffee - complete with pumpkin spice @nutpods and added coconut milk. This kept me going until 9:15 (after I got all the kids to the bus/preschool) Breakfast was 3 eggs 🍳, random veggie blend from the freezer (I picked out the baby corn 🌽) and prune purée (was hoping for my beloved roasted sweet potato but someone beat me to the leftovers ) Lunch was Mexican tuna boats from the original @whole30 book (in a red pepper instead of endive) with roasted chilli spiced sweet potato Dinner was super delicious - Thai pork over cucumber 🥒 noodles & more sweet potato Perfectly balanced protein, fats & and carbs at every meal. I never used to listen to my body. I was disconnected from it for so many years. I hated it, so I didn’t really care what it wanted or needed. I became further detached from myself, my desires, and others. I was so angry at myself all the time. Angry for eating. Angry for not eating. Angry when I looked in the mirror. Angry that I had so much hatred for myself and the body I’d been blessed with. Listening to my body did not happen over night. It happened over years. Years of rewiring my brain. Of disconnecting from the unhealthy relationship I had with myself. Honestly, only over the past few months have I really been in tune. These groups that I always talk about, yes they changed my life. The support and vulnerability is incredible. I’m no longer afraid to listen to my body. This is a question from a fellow member. With back to school time happening I'm guessing there are a lot of us getting sick so here are some tips AND some great smoothie recipes as requested! Keep the questions coming (either pm me or post to the community). Smoothies can help but aren't necessary to help fight off a cold. I will post some of my favourite nutrient packed smoothie recipes in the comments but I've shared more suggestions below. ✨What to do if you feel a cold coming on.... 💦 hydrate and make sure you are getting enough rest. Staying hydrated (and rested) can help prevent sickness, there’s also promising evidence that drinking lots of water can help fend off cold and flu. 💧 gargle salt water - it can reduce inflammation, clear mucus and irritants from the back of the throat, and fend off any bacteria or viruses lingering there. Use half-teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water. 🍊 get in extra vitamin C - whether that is in supplement form, in lemon water, lemon tea, or snacking on oranges, peppers, etc. (most of the smoothies recipes I posted are packed with either lemon or orange). 🍃 you can also try echinacea, which some studies show it can both reduce the severity of colds and shorten them by 10 to 30 percent. 🥕 Stick to healthy foods and skip caffeine and alcohol (or at least reduce). While all healthy, whole foods can help fuel your immune system to fight whatever illness you’re getting, certain foods and spices, like garlic, fennel, and lemon, are known for their germ-fighting properties. I get that it is still technically summer until Saturday, but I’m 100% ready for all things FALL! 🍁 Anyone else?! It’s finally cooled down a bit in Sacramento (at least in the mornings 🎉), so you better believe I’m whipping out the butternut squash soup already! • Roasted Butternut Squash Soup 🥣 * 1 large butternut squash, peeled, seeded, cut into pieces (or 24 oz. precut👉🏻 sooo much easier!) *2-3 small apples of choice (gala are my fave) *1 small yellow onion, chopped *2 tablespoons coconut oil *1/2 teaspoon sea salt *1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper *1/4 teaspoon nutmeg *1/2 teaspoon dried thyme *2 cups bone or vegetable broth *1/2 cup milk of choice (I use unsweetened almond milk) • Directions: Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix the butternut squash, apple, and onion pieces with melted coconut oil, salt, and pepper and place on a large roasting tray. Roast for 45-60 minutes, or until they are soft and golden. Place the roasted veggies in a blender with broth, milk, nutmeg, and thyme. (If enjoying right away, transfer to a pot and re-heat). Turmeric paste recipe: 1 cup filtered water 1/4 cup organic turmeric powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 tbsp coconut oil Mix all ingredients except for coconut oil - simmer in a pot on low heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand for 3-5 minutes. Then add your coconut oil and stir. SELF CARE EVERYDAY ✨ because self care is not just rose petal’d bath tubs, face masks and a stack of pancakes. • Of course I’m a believer in the #selfcaresunday trend because if you work a mon-fri job, Sunday is the perfect day to decompress and do something for YOU before heading into a new week. However, I also believe that there should be some form of self care in EVERYDAY because it’s healthy for your mind, body and soul. Especially in the changing seasons, our bodies need some extra attention. • My form of self care today was a fresh mani and taking myself on a solo date to paint some pottery. Tomorrow’s will be something different, and the day after that something different, etc. Self care doesn’t need to be glamorous, fancy, or expensive. Is this product healthy? ..... . This is sold as an alternative to use instead of single cream . I wasn’t going to post these pics but for the last year I been battling a whole lot of serious health conditions that I chose not to share with everyone except my immediate family & friends. At times I was really at my lowest depressed and all. I’m still fighting these serious health conditions, but chose to go against my doctors and try to do everything holistic as much as I can. I changed my eating habits, I walk like crazy, I work out, I meditate, do yoga and I try to keep positive energy surrounding me and for the most part it’s working ☺️ At my heaviest I was 230 lbs 😔 and didn’t even realize it and now I’m under 200 and hopefully will be at my goal weight by next year. Je suis une personne dont les sens (ouï, odorat, touché...) sont extrêmement sensibles. J'ai donc parfois beaucoup de difficultés avec les odeurs. Souvent elles sont si intense pour moi qu'elles font déclencher mes problèmes de santé comme mes problèmes de bronches. Quand je me suis procurée les chandelles, Mélanie m’a assuré que ses chandelles n’étaient pas du tout agressives comme odeur, mais plutôt qu’elle les catégorisait comme étant douces et justes à point. Je confirme que c’est bien le cas. Ses chandelles sont d’une excellente qualité et l’odeur est juste magnifique. Un peu odorant, mais pas trop pour étouffer, si vous comprenez ce que je veux dire. Je les recommande sans hésitation. En plus le service est hors pair!

Today is Day 9 since I started the gym again ! . . . The first week was terrible! Every muscle hurt and I could barely move. . . . Here is some advice for those who are thinking of starting the gym: . •go easy the first week, your body will hurt and depending on the intensity of your work out 🏋🏼‍♀️ it can get pretty bad. That can easily demotivate or create a source for excuse to skip a day to “recover”. . • “aim for the moon and hope to land among the ✨ “ Make your goal 5 days at the gym, be ok if you only make it to three or four days. •Eat the right foods to help your muscles recover. . •Drink tons of water! . •Create realistic expectations, if you know you definitely cannot make it to the gym on X day then don’t stress over going that day. Anxiety is your greatest enemy, don’t give in to it. Don’t let it emerge. If you can only go to the gym 2 times a week, that’s ok! Kill your session on those two days. 💪🏽 . •Stretching before and after your work out is key ! . •Sore muscles? Cold then warm.

I used to count every calorie I ate, obsessively focusing on what I would be eating later and how much I had worked out to afford me each meal. I had to work really hard to change my internal dialogue about food, but primarily about myself. To speak and look at myself with kindness, and to realize that my body is pretty damn AMAZING. Yoga and meditation have helped quite a bit, because they gave me the skills to break it down to conscious action. Every time I had a negative thought or emotion, I took charge and nourished myself in the way I needed until it was no longer something I had to force myself to do. Eventually something shifted and I had integrated. When you're retraining you're mind, it's like any other muscle you're working or skill you're trying to build. You have to be inspired though to stick with it and be consistent in your approach. I personally couldn't stand hating on myself or being fearful or shameful of what I ate, or my body, anymore. When I saw the changes happening, I felt more and more empowered in that shift. I think a lot of us in the wellness field find our way here out of experience with our own issues, and through finding ways out of the mud. It's not always easy, but the first step is wanting to get out of that dirt and change your relationship with yourself and the life you're living. I'm a firm believer in taking your time to understand what feels best and is most empowering in your own unique journey. That grounding into your own experience is often the catalyst for real and profound shifts.

So I'll be sure to soak up as much VITAMIN D as I can 😅 This summer has been amazing 🤗 🇬🇷 Been to Greece 3 times 🇸🇪 Sweden once 🇨🇾 One quick trip to Cyprus 🏡 Bought my own home 🏗 Started making good progress with the properties 💫 With exciting projects in the pipeline . . . I will be prioritising my training and fitness when I get back! For the past 16 months, I haven't been consistent with it at all. But I have finally joined my new local gym 🙌🏼 and will be making it a part of my daily routine again 💪🏼 As well as giving our businesses 110% 👊🏼

You guys know by now what this is the beginning of....A MEZZE FEAST💃😋💕 . . . After the stresses of today, we thought what better way to put smiles on our faces than by going to our favourite little bistro for the BEST MEZZE EVER!!! 🙌🏼 . . . I never get a chance to snap a picture of any of the other food because we are so quick to devour all the tasty dishes that are placed in front of us! 🤗 . . . 🌴 Tropical Vibes 🌴 . . . I finally made a #toasttuesday 🥑🍞 ft some unripened oranges in our Greek Garden 🍊 . . . I was feeling very low energy yesterday and pretty much just slept the whole day on the beach under an olive tree 🌿 I think the heat got to me a little ☀️ But today I was feeling much more like myself and back on the bicycle and paddle board 🚴‍♀️🏄‍♀️ . . . I hope you've been having a fabulous Tuesday 💕 . . .

💅🏻 THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED 💅🏻 Anyone that knows me, knows I've always been a nail-biter 😬 I would bite my nails when I was nervous, I would bite my nails when I was bored, I would bite my nails when they were dry and I would bite my nails because I didn't like the fact that they were short (VICIOUS CIRCLE 🙈) I was ashamed and embarrassed about them. . . . BUT NOW!!! For the first time ever I have long nails 🙌🏼🎉 (that are my own) 🤗 . . . For my birthday/holiday I decided to treat myself to a fun manicure by the wonderful @somibeauty_ ❤ (swipe right to see her amazing work on my tiny nails and be sure to check out her gallery 💅🏻) I did my best to not bite them for 1 month before and now it's been 2 weeks since I had them done. Last night they peeled off because of all the time I've been spending in the sea 🧜🏻‍♀️ But I was so surprised at how long they've grown 😄 I think all the VITAMIN D is helping ☀️ . . . This is a huge achievement for me and I couldn't be happier ❤ . . .

I’ve posted this before, but I’m sharing it again in case you missed it because I just went to the grocery store the other day and avocados were like $2 each. If I’m gonna be spending that kind of money on a single avocado, I need to make sure I’m consuming every little morsel, you feel me? ••• Oh, hey. Did you know that you can find frozen avocados in the freezer section of your grocery store? You know when you go to the store and all the avocados are either way too ripe, or not ripe enough, or $5.00 a piece? Well, problem solved. Have these on hand instead. On the flip side, you know how sometimes you go to the store and it feels like you won the Powerball because avocados are 10 for $10 but they’re all ripe and ready to go and you know they’ll turn black before you can eat them because avocados are crazy like that? Buy them, cut them into slices, arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and freeze them for 2 hours.
