Can we take a moment and appreciate this gorgeous leaf 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Over the weekend, one of the oldest leaf fell and my heart fell with it. It’s Presley heartbreaking to lose even one of these leaves, but that’s just the cycle of nature. Now I have an even more beautiful leaf to replace the old one. . . . #syngonium #syngoniumvariegata #plantsofinstagram #plantsmakepeoplehappy #flauntyourleaves #aussieplantclub #melbourneplantclub #urbanjungle #urbanjungleblog #urbanjungleblogger #houseplantclub #houseplantdiary #houseplantjournal #houseplantsofinstagram #get_planted #planterina #houseplantcommunity #indoorjungle #jungalow

*PLANT PARENTHOOD IS A JOURNEY* . . I think it’s all well and good posting pretty pictures of plants and flourishing, lush greenery but I feel like that can oftentimes be quite exclusory. . I have killed my *fair* share of plants along the way (RIP) but each time I lost a plant pal I gained knowledge on how to do better next time. . Caring for plants shouldn’t be a private club or a competition, but an experience that everyone can (and should) be a part of. . So, that being said.. here are some pictures of my boy Ralph taken last year. I had just started my plant parent journey and didn’t know how to properly take care of him. . After some research and a lot of patience, he bounced back to full health and now looks lush as FUCK. . So to all new plant parents.. ask questions, do your research, have patience and don’t stress if you lose a few pals along the way.

I can’t believe how much Phil has grown since we got him last December! He is still one of my favorite plants for his big, unique leaves. I had to snap some pictures after wiping his leaves down with neem oil. Not only does it help treat and prevent most common plant pests, but it also leaves the foliage looking clean and shiny! I’ve been trying to spay and wipe down all of our plants with neem oil to keep them dust and pest free for the winter. I dust our plants typically once a month, or whenever I notice a plant getting too dusty. Not only does it help prevent spider mites, but it also helps with photosynthesis. Dust can block the sunlight from getting to the leaves.
