I've wanted a husky ever since I was a little girl and in 2010 I was spoilt rotten by my man 😍 It was a huge year for me - I got married in February, bought a home in October and on Christmas Day, Simon surprised me with not one, but two husky puppies 🐶🐶 I love my dogs and I am so grateful that I get to spend every day at home with them. They are incredible with the kids and treat them like one of their own and the benefits of simply hanging out with a dog is mind-blowing - blood pressure drops, cortisol lowers and both the seratonin and dopamine hormone increase which literally means you become a happier, healthier and less stressed version of you after just petting a dog ... very cool! #naturalmedicine #dogs #huskys #wellbeing #healthcoach #iinhealthcoach #wellness

In my post yesterday I said beware of the boring plate - the kind with zero color where all the foods are either white or brown. You know, like a typical kids meal (read: chicken fingers and french fries out the wazoo). At home I try to apply my same rainbow rule 🌈 when I make 👯‍♀️'s plates too. I want to teach them to eat the rainbow too (and I'm not talkin' about Skittles, though man, did I eat my weight in those when I was a kid... anyone else? 🙋‍♀️). Tampons are POISONOUS?! 🙅🏼‍♀️😿🚺🌸 . Have you ever stopped to question what your tampons are actually MADE of? Yes most are mainly cotton but some contain dyes, toxins and questionable “fresh scents” which can be harmful to your body and can wreak havoc on your endocrine system. . Conventional tampons are full of toxic chemicals and pesticides (like glyphosate AKA round up) and since they are technically classified as a “medical device”, some companies don’t even disclose a list of the ingredients they contain. WTF?! . I think it’s so important to be vigilant of everything that goes into your body and that includes tampons! . Your vagina deserves BETTER 🌸 it’s time to make the switch to organic tampons and eliminate the threat that conventional tampons pose to your health 🐱💕 xoxo

Gloomy evening made better with this Healthy Banana Bread that's naturally sweetened, gluten free, dairy free and SO good! . Ingredients: 2 1/3 cup @kingarthurflour almond flour 3 small ripe bananas or 2 large (I use extra ripe so no additional sweetener is needed) 3 @vitalfarms eggs 2 Tbsp coconut oil (melted & cooled) 2 Tbsp @wholefoods almond butter 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp cinnamon . Optional toppings: @enjoylifefoods chocolate chips, nuts, seeds &/or granola. . Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Combine the dry ingredients, in a separate bowl use an electric mixer to combine wet ingredients (including bananas). Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until well combined. Pour the batter into a large loaf pan (I put parchment paper in the pan instead of greasing), add toppings if using them and bake for around 40 minutes or until the center is firm & toothpick comes out clean. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes before removing from pan, place on cooling rack and let cool completely before storing. 🍌🍞 at East Isles, Minneapolis

I decided to break out my spiralizer tonight and use up the last of the zucchini’s I had from the garden! 🥒 Such a simple meal and so delicious! Of course you can’t go wrong with pesto!💚 Inspired by The Healthstyle Emporium which is a health program I recently joined and the recipes are easy to follow and so many great options, don’t get me wrong I love Pinterest too but these are so delicious and easy and guaranteed not to have those nasty ingredients I am trying to avoid. Ingredients: 2 Zucchini’s 2 garlic cloves 2 C fresh basil leaves 1/3 C olive oil 2 tsp lemon juice Pinch of red pepper flakes Himalayan Salt to taste 1/4 C raw cashews Cherry Tomatoes 🍅🍅 🍅🍅 Directions: To prepare the pesto: In a food processor, combine garlic, basil, olive oil and red pepper flakes To prepare the noodles: Spiralize the Zucchini, toss the zucchini in pesto, add season with salt. Transfer the pesto noodles to a large platter and sprinkle with cherry tomatoes! DE-licious!!! 🤤 🤤

I love these @marysgonecrackers because they're delicious and I don't feel deprived! 🙌 I've been cutting out gluten for several years now and anytime I accidentally have some, I feel it in my joints for sure! One of my favorite late night treats without the added sugar is my avocado pudding. I absolutely love it!!! I always add a tbsp of cacao powder to the mix to give it a wonderfully smooth chocolatey flavor! To die for! 🍫🥑. Cacao powder is a great way for you to get an antioxidant punch in your smoothies, oatmeal, or pudding! Antioxidants block harmful free radicals in the body, protecting you from disease and premature aging. Cacao also is loaded with vitamin C and magnesium, both of which help your skin stay looking young.

It's time for some primary food 🤗 - this week let's chat about Fitness. This can sometimes be a topic that feels overwhelming. It feels like we have to do it all or nothing. That's simply not the case!! A friend of mine was telling me about her husband....Randy decided that he really needed to make some changes to just 'feel better' - that's all...no big lofty goals - just feel better!! I'm sure some of you can relate 😉 He decided to cut out some things - and add in a few things. One of the things that he added in was walking - that's all....just walking. (That was good news for his dog Tucker 🐶 because he was taking him on these walks with him 😍) Now - as stated before he didn't have big lofty goals so these aren't strenuous hikes - these aren't massively long walks....just walks with the dog - maximum distance he has walked thus far has been 3 miles (and this only happened once 😄). TRUTH: I used to not even be able to leave my house without makeup on. My makeup routine took around 30 minutes minimum and I’d continue to apply it throughout the day. I even put mascara ON TOP of eyelash extensions lol. Thankfully, this year has been full of transformations starting with nutrition extending all the way to my mindset, self love and self care. Flash forward to today I don’t feel the need to wear makeup at all. That’s not to say I don’t doll myself up for fun sometimes but this picture is basically the extent of it. Combine that with some Country music and my pre-workout “jingle juice” and lucky you...you get a private concert! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Okay, so I don’t have the singing chops 🎶 BUT what I do have is a whole lotta gumption and smiles because doing what you love matters...and dancing, making healthy choices, and pursing my dreams just fills my soul. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now a few years back this SO wasn’t the case. I was stressed to the max and my health took another hit. First it was a slow thyroid, then food intolerances and then I was diagnosed with Leaky Gut..say what?!😲Holy trifecta of not so awesomeness. This wake up call prompted some major and I mean MAJOR life changes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ I started researching about Leaky Gut and I took supplements and tissue salts recommended by my Naturopath and cleaned up my food choices.🥒🥑🥕🍋🌱2️⃣ I scaled back on my work hours and began meditating. This was a great start but there was still something missing from my healing equation- fitness. 3️⃣ Now I’m a total jockette, like competitive as all get out...but with all the healing my body required, I needed short, sweet and effective workouts. And baby, I hit the motherlode. So many workout options + the most incredible community of high vibin’, supportive peeps I’ve ever met. Dang I’m lucky!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, I’ve left behind my career in the Outdoors Industry and am trail blazing a whole new path. I’m happier and smile more often. I’m fitter. Spinach turkey burgers on gluten-free bread with grapes and mixed veggies. . There's a couple things I feel like I can say about this photo. . >> 1. This is what a normal gluten-free dairy-free dinner looks like in my household. Yeah, I make some awesome delicious meals for my family - I have a recipe and menu planning service. But that doesn't mean my meals are complicated or take hours to make. Simple, yummy, done. >> 2. I am not a "make all the sides" person. We eat fruit and frozen vegetables often, because they are healthy, cheap, and easy to get to the table. >> 3. Burgers at my house usually involve my husband and son eating 'normal' hamburger buns and I eat gluten-free bread, a lettuce wrap, or chop the whole burger up and put it on a bed of lettuce. Not complicated or fancy. Done and done, everyone is happy. >> 4. Not every photo on Instagram or Facebook or any social media platform has to be beautiful. My life is real life, not pretty pretty lovely meals that I've spent 20 minutes plating and primping. I make dinner, I eat it... It’s official! We have a date for our inaugural gathering to launch my new project @how_we_gather! Please join @drlaurentober of @capturinggratitude and myself for an afternoon of gratitude at 10 station street Bangalow (the precinct where @packgallerystudio and @woodsbangalow are located) on September 23rd at 3:30pm. We're going to be sitting in circle and cultivating community, gratitude, connection and also celebrate spring equinox. We're grateful to live such fortunate lives. We have a roof over our head, food on the table, fresh water on tap and we're safe from harm. Not everyone is so lucky. The event is by donation with 100% of proceeds going towards supporting the SHIFT Project Byron Bay. All are welcome whether you can afford to donate or not.
