Oi gente, tudo bem? #abaladadoblacktom #victorlavalle #terror #Bookstagram #BookLover #BookPhoto  #IgReads #InstaRead #IgBooks #BookCommunity #EditoraMorroBranco #theballadofblacktom #lovecraft #livrosdeterror

This week I borrowed #TheCruelPrince and #ACourtofThornsandRoses from the library and I really enjoyed reading both of them. After finishing, I decided to request The Wicked King then bought myself a copy of A Court of Thorns and Roses along with the next two in the series. 🤩 Have you read either of these? “Circe” by Madeline Miller is a fantastic read. I loved how Miller managed to make you empathize with, and care for, the immortal Circe. THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH by #nortonjuster this book is super hard to rate. I felt like it ended too suddenly. I was all 5 up until that. So a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ it was a little abrupt. Such a wonderful imaginative read. I did think the protagonist a bit boring all the way through but he sorted himself. So many great observations about the world, and endlessly witty. • • • #bookgasm #bookstagram #bookgeek #bookish #booked #booksbooksbooks #bookclub #booklove #bookfan #bookart #booklover #booker #bookcollection #shelfie #bookworm #bookblogger #bookshelves #bookaddict #instaread #alwaysreading #bookflatlay #bookaesthetic #bookphoto #bookphotography #elprincipedelsol

Hello lovelies!⭐️ 🖤 How was your weekend? Hope you’re all doing well! I got a lot of studying done for my exam, so I’m happy with that. 🖤 I also finished reading My Plain Jane this week and I quite liked it. I can’t say it’s my favourite book ever, but it made me want to read constantly (which is always a good thing). I really loved Jane as a character and the paranormal stuff didn’t put me off as much. The writing style is nice and there’s a lot of humor in this book (and I love a good laugh). I gave this book 3.5⭐️. Super curious about the original Jane Eyre story, has anyone read it? Let me know! 😊 🖤 Now onto the next book, which will be “Weird theology: small worlds book 1” by @alexraizmanauthor . Alex, I’m super excited to start reading it tonight!🎊 (p.s. go give Alex a follow pls). 🖤 QOTD: What’s your favourite genre? Have you ever received a text, call or mail that derailed your day? . . A message that led to: frantic phonecalls, hijack of thoughts, loss of focus. The news though unpleasant and unexpected, was not an emergency. You had a time lag for action. . . Later on, you realized that the day you received the news was the least productive day of your week. . . What can help you save your day when you receive unpleasant news that aren't emergencies? . . In a logical order: . . a) Take some deep breathes. . . b) Say a prayer. . . c) Continue your day as planned. . . c) Ponder(not worry) over it as you sleep. . . d) Journalize about it. . . f) Draw up a Strategy. . . g) Act. . . The first three would enable you - Relax; the next two would enable you - Think; The last two would enable you - Act. . . Elevation by Stephen King⁣ ⁣ This little novella by Stephen King really just LIFTED my spirits (see what I did there?). It is an engaging story of hope in the midst of uncertainty. Sometimes our own troubles can give us a bit of perspective, and that’s exactly what happens with Scott Carey, the ill-fated protagonist of this story. ⁣ ⁣ While the characters can come across a little flat in this little book, something that King hardly ever has a problem with in his usually long tomes, they are all lovable and purposeful. There is a tinge of sci-fi/fantasy to the story but like the characters it is just a plot tool that King uses to get us to the simple lesson; the key to joy is loving our neighbors. I don’t always search out books with such a simple story, characters, and moral, but in this increasingly crazy world, sometimes it’s nice to have those simple reminders.⁣ ⁣ 4/5 ⭐️

Heeey, foxes!~ 🦊🙌🏻 So, I've been lazing around watching Modern Family all day and I don't regret it a bit. 😅 Now I'm going to read for a few hours and then prepare for the long week at work that's awaiting. 😭😭 I have never been so tired in my life and I don't know how much longer I can keep up. It really sucks. 🙃 . On another note, I've read 4 books so far this year and I am happy. I have yet to read the one in this picture though- The Crowns of Croswald. The good news is that there is a second one in the series coming out and you can check the author's account for more info. ☺️🎉 . 🌲QOTD: Which book should be definitely made into a movie? Why? . 🎄AOTD: Ah, when it comes to books made into movies/tv series I am always so damn scared. What if they ruin it all?? 😭😭 But I'd be so happy to see ACOTAR made into a tv series. The magical world would look stunning on TV. Plus, we have already heard the news about The Grisha, The Raven Cycle and a couple of other books made into tv shows. How cool would that be? 😍 I cannot wait to see what happens. . ❄️☃️🎄❄️🎄☃️❄️ . ℭ𝔥𝔞𝔩𝔩𝔢𝔫𝔤𝔢𝔰: Day 20 #PaperInkJan19 ❄️magical items #BookCoastToCoastJan19 ❄️book that should be a movie . ❄️☃️🎄❄️🎄☃️❄️ . Yesterday I shared how much I love Oxford, and how I am really enjoying reading Becoming Mrs. Lewis which is the account of how CS Lewis and his wife Joy came to be together. In 2017, my husband and I travelled to Oxford and got to tour Lewis’ home, which is called The Kilns! These are some pictures of The Kilns and some of the rooms in it! The wardrobe Lewis drew inspiration from for Narnia, his writing desk, the gardens he looked out at daily as he dreamt up his infamous stories, a map of Narnia. The last picture is after we ate at The Eagle and Child (or the Bird & the Baby) which is the pub where Lewis’ writing group called The Inklings met weekly! I’ve always found Lewis’ life fascinating, so reading Becoming Mrs. Lewis has been indulging me even further into that. • I could go on and on about that trip and how much we saw and loved it. I’ll just say, normally I’d rather travel to a new place than to return to places I’ve already been. With the exception of Oxford. We dream of going back for an extended period of time! It’s been so neat to read about places I’ve been and walked through, and I thought some of you might like to share in our pictures as well!! • Where’s the coolest place you’ve gotten to travel that you’ve read about?! • #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #oxford #cslewis #thekilns #narnia #lovestoread #bibliophile #travel #joydavidman #patticallahanhenry #becomingmrslewis #alwaysreading #currentlyreading #oxfordengland #historicalfiction #instaread #booktravels #amreading #booklover #kilns at Oxford, Oxfordshire

Have you seen the movie or read Gone With the Wind? Today, I finished watching the film for the first time. I'm glad to have seen it now, since it's such a classic movie. But I must say that the book is better, in my opinion ☺️ I've enjoyed reading this long, epic novel so much. ••• It's a snow storm day today in Montreal, perfect for staying inside in the warmth. I've started reading You by Caroline Kepnes yesterday (only one chapter), so I plan to read more of it later today. My current read. Late last year, I moved on from the NHS. I’d been a proud NHS employee for the best part of eight years, but it got to the point where I was tired of public services. I was tired of low budgets and poor morale. I was also tired of earning less than many in a similar job to mine earned. I was tired of seeing clinical staff overstretched and stressed out. I was tired of seeing patients frustrated by budget cut decisions made at government level. I had a moment of clarity whilst looking for jobs where I realised that I needed to leave the NHS, and it inspired so much calm in me. Then this job came along and here I am! It’s difficult, because some part of me will always love the NHS. Obviously I love it as a patient, but my new job can be somewhat soulless and I miss the “making a difference” side of being an NHS employee. Some of my favourite people are people I met whilst working for the NHS. There’s real passion in NHS buildings all across the UK. Unfortunately there is also red tape and budget cuts. I wouldn’t go back, though. I’ll always support the NHS. We’ll really miss it when it ends up being privatised. I still wear my rainbow NHS pin with pride and always will. What are you reading?

JENNIFER L ARMENTROUT - LUCYFER | ☆☆☆☆☆☆/10 • Bracia de Vincent to arystokracja, jedna z najzamożniejszych i jednocześnie najbardziej skandalicznych rodzin w kraju.

I finished Jackie May’s Don’t bait me. It's the third book of Nora Jacobs series. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am not sure if I like the reverse harem style in the paranormal genre but this book was full of action and great dialogue. I liked the characters too. They were funny, witty and multi-dimensional. Reading was easy and I finished this in a day. The story engaged me immediately. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I give ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars to this book (5 is outstanding) and I recommend it to everyone who likes YA style writing or reverse harem. _____________________________________________ #norajacobs #jackiemay #Audiobooks #EscapistReads #bookoftheweek #instabook #ilovebooks #bibliophile #instabooks #bookaholic #currentlyreading #instaread #bookaddict #totalbooknerd #bookgeek #amlistening #bookobsessed #kirjat #lukeminen #bookcommunity #book #bookworms #nowplaying #bookaddiction #amreading #bookaesthetic #bookstagrammer

Day 20 - HAPPY ENDING I'm really shocked! I have very, very few books with happy endings. 😲 Now, some books are just so sad throughout, even a happy-ish ending wasn't enough?! There are books like 'Room' where technically it is a happy ending but who knows what after effects they both had etc etc?! This was a toughie today. I settled for 'The Importance of Being Aisling'. Leiam! Super Recomendo. #read #instabook #instaread #leitura #propositodevida #meta #coach #leitura #mindset #crescimento #desenvolvimentopessoal at Magé

A book I could read over and over again.. maybe it’s because I share my grandmothers obsession with flowers or because I was raised by an avid gardener (my father). One of my goals in life is to own a hidden secret garden in my backyard.

Today marks two years since Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States. Ever since, for the D.C. journalism corps, the Trump saga is simultaneously the lowest-hanging fruit in Washington and the apple from which everyone wants a big, juicy bite. Legendary Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward barely gets a nibble with this vapid, soul-crushing account of Trump’s political insurgency. . Instead, he loses himself in a rhapsody of venality: self-styled maverick Steve Bannon slinging half-wit Breitbart bons mots; Gary Cohn valiantly guarding American economic interests from trade-skeptic psychopaths Wilbur Ross and Peter Navarro just long enough to vandalize the tax code and flee back to the private sector; humble wife-beater Rob Porter heroically conspiring with Cohn to slow-walk unfavorable policies and steal documents off Trump’s desk, essentially running a coup in the Oval Office; Reince Priebus, H.R. McMaster, Rex Tillerson, John Kelly, Lindsey Graham—no gutless white bureaucrat is too feckless or too flawed to buff to a milky luster in Woodward’s deep-background (i.e. no attributed sources) telling. . It’s not surprising that Trump (who declined to be interviewed for “Fear”) comes off the worst—monosyllabic, mercurial, impulsive, unmoored from reality. But it *is* surprising to see Woodward treat such flagrant, corrupt delusion almost sympathetically, forcing the trademark nuance he has brought to covering presidents since exposing Watergate (with Carl Bernstein) in the ’70s. Is it more of a testament to how far our mighty institutions have fallen that Donald Trump inhabits the presidency, or that two-time Pulitzer winner Bob Woodward showcases this administration’s corrosive dysfunction as a kind of white-knuckle Shakespearean wank? This apple gets more rotten by the day. . ”Fear: Trump in the White House” by Bob Woodward 2018 Simon & Schuster . #igreads #bookstagram #bookreviews #instabooks #reading #bookworm #books #bibliophile #booklover #booknerd #bookish #booklove #bookaholic #bookaddict #booknerd #readersofinstagram #igreads #booksofinstagram #bookish #bookbuzz #bookloves #booksbooksbooks #instaread #instareads
