Mondays and Tuesdays are my low-carb days for the FASTer Way. So why I am in a picture with a bunch of Dunkin Donuts? Because today I am bringing birthday snacks for my firstborn baby (who is turning 11 this Wednesday 😭) and she wanted donuts to share with her friends and her teachers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My dad is also in town this week - which is quite special that we get to spend the holidays and Izzie's birthday with him. But all these celebrations and family times means there will be numerous birthday and holiday treats (not to mention the cookies we will bake later in the week) and meals out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here is my plan for this week: 1. For the meals that I do cook or eat at home - keep it clean and healthy. For my meals out - try to keep it healthy, but if there is something delicious I want to try I'm not going to deprive myself ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Think about all the treats coming this week, and prioritize which ones I want to eat the most. For example, I will probably skip the Dunkin Donut today, but I am definitely going to enjoy the peppermint bark birthday cake Izzie picked out later in the week. Also, somebody has to taste test the cookies once they're baked 🤪 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Try to get my workouts in, but prioritize rest and sleep. I will be out and about pretty much most of the week, and sometimes the only time I can fit in a workout is before 6am. Painful. It’s also perfect for low carb day because it packs in lots of healthy fats and proteins. I throw mine in a crockpot and will sometimes change up the veggies. And just like that, it’s cleanse day (for me)! My accountability group usually cleanses on Wednesday’s, but since Monday’s work better for me, I’m gonna do it today! First time in forever cleansing, but I couldn’t be more pumped! So many amazing benefits and you can FEEL them! . With cellular cleansing, you give your body a chance to rest from always being in “growth mode.” It actually cleans up the worn-out parts of your cells. AND you’re not only burning fat, you’re burning the worst kind of fat— visceral fat. That’s the type that surrounds your internal organs and has been strongly associated with poor health. . My first fast is almost over! Doing 16:8. Started a 8pm and ending at noon today! Not feeling too horribly hungry. Feeling awake and sharp! Still havent quite figured out the scientifically best way to break my fast but today I'm gonna do it with shrimp fajitas. Moderate amounts of carbs and lots of protein! Carbs spike the blood sugar and open the cell so I'm gonna fill that cell with protein instead of fat! Saving the majority of my fats for dinner time. Just gonna tinker with it until I find what works best for me! Happy Monday! . . I incorporate at least one day per week where I don’t eat any meat. I think it’s great for your body and mind and as I always say, the key is to change things up so your body is always guessing and doesn’t know what’s going on. Last night I broke my #intermittentfast by whipping up a delicious egg/veggie quiche😋 . . Recipe. . Pan fry in butter/ghee or coconut oil: . . ▪️ginger ▪️mushrooms ▪️artichoke ▪️broccoli ▪️spinach or any other veggies you like . . Put the veggies in a skillet and add 4 whisked eggs on top, stir it, so everything comes together nicely. Bake for 25min at 350. You can add the last 5min cheese on top, in case you like dairy (I do 😜) . . I also mashed one avocado and made a guacamole as a side dish. . . Top the whole situation with nuts and seeds of your choice and enjoy it;) . It’s super easy and delicious. When I took that first picture, I cried for 2 hours while calling myself every nasty thing I could think of. I hated myself. Truely hated myself. It's taken a long time to learn how to start loving myself, inside and out.. And I'm still learning. But as I sat here today, looking at these two pictures side by side, my first thought actually wasnt negative! I was so proud.. I may not have clear muscle definition because of my loose skin, but that skin is a reminder of the 3 babies I've had inside my belly, the 2 healthy beautiful children that were born via C-section and all the weight I've worked SO HARD to lose and keep off. I am fasting for a bit today since I had a #CarbNite on Saturday. Just having some #guayusa tea post-workout for a caffeine boost. I used to have fasted caffeine early on in my #weightlossjourney but I got away from it, so I am going to try bringing it back. My workout was a killer #metcon workout. When my trainer saw one of the (male) competitive powerlifters slacking on his plate drag sprints, he had him take off the harness and put me on it to show him how to do it AT THE SAME WEIGHT!!!! I can not believe that it has been over 3 years since I have decided to make some changes to my life. One of them were to quit an almost 2 year job that was about to kill me with so much stress. Finding a new job gave me the opportunity to meet @heather.rickard who introduced me to @isagenixanz . She doesn’t know the real reason why I’ve decided to go on a 30 day program. Actually a lot of people don’t know the core reason for that because I was always felt very embarrassed so I tried to hide from some of my friends and family that I smoke for a year which it was something that I used to hate and being against. Now I am ready to share that with you guys so I can help more people. That time, I could not look myself at the mirror, I felt ugly and fat as you can see in the photo. When I was told that I would have shake days and cleanse days, I thought “cleanse day might be like a detox so I need to make some effort to stop smoking at least during this period”. That is what I had decided for. One week later my brown box full of products arrived to my step door. I followed the program and gave my 100%, I incorporated intermittent fasting too which I thought would be almost impossible for me because I eat like a man lol. I dropped 8 kilos in a month! I was surprised and already in love with my results and the way I was feeling. My energy increased, I went back to the gym and I started to gain my confidence back and all I know now is that if I can get results through a health lifestyle and feel the way I do, anyone can. The most importantly thing for me was that I stopped smoking for 30 days and why I would go back with that bad habit if I was feeling much better without it? Personally, I believe that it is much better to switch things up so that the body does not have a chance to adapt. However, sometimes this inconsistency leads to people not fasting at all, which is also bad. So it all depends upon your ‘style’. If a regular routine works better for you for compliance reasons, then do so. However, physiologically, I think changing things up all the time works better.
