Have you ever finished a meal and been like, “OMG. Why the F did I eat that? I’m so full and feel like crap!” . . . Most of clients come to me with this all or nothing mindset about food that’s been perpetuated by all the diets they’ve done where they were following a perfect meal plan or tracking numbers on an app . . or they were OFF the meal plan or app . . but never got in tune with their body, Ya know, the thing that will be with us everywhere we go until we die and works on vacation, in other countries, and at our parents’ house. . . Did you know.... that you don’t need fancy equipment or special tea bags to make cold brewed iced tea? 😱 • • All you need is a good old fashioned glass bottle or jar, water, and you can use whatever tea you enjoy! 💁🏻‍♀️ Just fill the bottle, pop in the tea bag(s), and shake it up. Then let it hang out in the fridge for a little while - an hour does the trick but if you want a stronger brew, let it go longer or even overnight! You can add fruit, herbs, sweeteners, and other fun things too for added flavor. 🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹 Looking for the perfect bottle? Mason jars work great or you can do what I did and buy an @argotea and reuse the bottle 😉

🌸 I hate the phrase ‘clean eating’ with a passion. At what point does eating ‘healthy’ food make you clean and a better person? Exactly, you can’t think of an answer because there isn’t one! With there being so much toxic diet culture everywhere it’s no wonder why people are being sucked in to think these sorts of things. You eat just fruit and veg? Congratulations, that is not nutritionally balanced at all and you probably have an underlying problems with food. You ate fruit and veg and a chocolate bar? Congratulations, this is called having a balanced diet which is what being healthy is all about. Healthy does not mean eating just salad all day because a magazine told you do. Healthy means having a balanced diet that features all of the food groups required for you body to function. I used to actually believe that crap that told you just eating fruit and veg makes you slimmer which some how makes you a better person. I’m sorry but at what point does someone’s weight or body define who they are as a person. I sure as hell am not letting it define me anymore which is why you shouldn’t either. ‘Clean eating’ is a load of b***s***. Think of diet culture as those annoying PPI calls and then you will soon start to realise how annoying it actually is. You do not need to follow a meal plan that some celebrity posted online because they are famous. You need to follow a meal plan that is right for your body and your needs. Healthy does not mean skinny okay, just remember that. ~E

Creating the life you want is like creating a garden bed where there was rough terrain. One day at a time, do the work you’re ready to handle. It starts with self love, self respect, and truth. Slow down, hear yourself, and make the adjustments necessary. Progress looks slow while it’s happening, but one day you look back and see that everything is different. A huge part of recovery from an ED or chronic dieting is changing your attitude towards food. ⁣ Eating is intertwined with human experience—it’s a whole lot more than simply ‘in-vs-out’, and I’m still learning to see it an enjoyable thing. ⁣ I don’t fret about food now, but I live off sameish, snacky type things. I never make time to cook or give it too much deliberation. It’s something I prefer to get done and dusted, before moving on with my day. Maybe I’m keep the space food occupies in my life to a minimum, in fear of stressing over it again (anybody relate?). ⁣ ‘Eat Up!’ by @ruby.tandoh is a glorious read if you’re struggling with this. What if we decided to stop pursuing change in our bodies? What if we saw the pursuit for what it really was- a habit, an addiction? I know I was caught in that cycle, to the point where no body or size was never enough. If it wasn’t body, it was my hair, my skin, my smile. One day I realized that I was always thinking about fixing myself. It didn’t matter what. It was this habit of looking for things that were wrong. I had an epiphany when I realized that I could very well spend that same energy looking for what was beautiful. I knew it wouldn’t be easy because I had practiced the other way for so long. But it was a stream of thoughts and I had power over those thoughts. I could change my pattern. So I did, and I do. Some days I get stuck in the old ways of thinking because they have been there for much longer. But when I get into that loop I remember the choice I have to pay attention to beauty over faults, and that I can really change the way I see my own beauty. That this body is beautiful. #haes #bodypositive #bodypositivity #selflove #intuitiveeating #love #feminist

Berry season is on full effect and honestly they might be my fave fruit right now! 🍓♥️ I made these mixed berry crumble bars and omg the gooey berry filling is to die for!! 😍 The crust is also gluten free, dairy free, full of fiber and has protein + healthy fats! ✨🎉 . . Berries are full of antioxidants, anti aging phytonutrients, have been shown to improve memory, skin and reduce your risk of cancer! 💕☀️ They are super high in fiber and are one of the lowest sugar fruits 🍌 🍎 🍉 I’ve been adding them to Greek yogurt to make Froyo 🍨 you can add them to salads 🥗 or throw into pancakes 🥞 or muffins for a delicious treat!! . . I eat so many eggs a day that people must think I'm crazy. Indeed I am crazy, but for other reasons too 🤪 Eggs have a soft spot in my heart as the first animal food I reintroduced after my one-year trial with veganism. An egg (especially the yolk) is a superfood... it's the most easily absorbed protein source of any food, best source of choline (crucial for your 🧠), and full of omega 3s. I had a plate of eggs, sauteed veggies, and berries this morning. Simple but yummy and tummy-pleasing.

Put your nuance caps on, folks, we’re talking about overeating today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For the purpose of this post, let's focus on habitually overeating. Overeating every now and again is totally normal not only because our hunger is never the same day to day but also because food is fucking delicious and it’s 100% okay to indulge in it when it's appropriate physically/mentally/emotionally/spiritually for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Concerns usually stem from one of the following: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Intellectually judging the amount eaten 2. Feeling physically uncomfortably full after eating ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s start with the 1st one. Where did that judgement come from? Is it a byproduct of living in diet culture where portion control is a mode of life? Did someone say something judgmental to you about the amount you were eating? Perhaps you feel judged on you food choices by the world simply because you exist in a fat body. Whatever the root of the judgement, you need to ask yourself “Is this judgement serving me?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are a lot of day to day changes in our life that can affect our hunger hormones that turn on our appetite like stress, how much sleep you’re getting, how satiating your other meals have been that day, etc. If you’re honoring your hunger and are not feeling uncomfortably full after, then you’re doing this eating thing totally right so the judgement literally serves NO PURPOSE. Let. It. Go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The 2nd one is rather common. If you’ve been ignoring your body’s signals, this is where you start relearning your body’s needs which will take practice. Sometimes you’ll under eat and sometimes you’ll over eat. Allow yourself that space to learn and trust the messages your body is giving you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are plenty of non-portion control or restriction related things to do about habitual overeating. Put your nuance caps on, folks, we’re talking about overeating today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For the purpose of this post, let's focus on habitually overeating. Overeating every now and again is totally normal not only because our hunger is never the same day to day but also because food is fucking delicious and it’s 100% okay to indulge in it when it's appropriate physically/mentally/emotionally/spiritually for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Concerns usually stem from one of the following: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Intellectually judging the amount eaten 2. Feeling physically uncomfortably full after eating ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s start with the 1st one. Where did that judgement come from? Is it a byproduct of living in diet culture where portion control is a mode of life? Did someone say something judgmental to you about the amount you were eating? Perhaps you feel judged on you food choices by the world simply because you exist in a fat body. Whatever the root of the judgement, you need to ask yourself “Is this judgement serving me?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are a lot of day to day changes in our life that can affect our hunger hormones that turn on our appetite like stress, how much sleep you’re getting, how satiating your other meals have been that day, etc. If you’re honoring your hunger and are not feeling uncomfortably full after, then you’re doing this eating thing totally right so the judgement literally serves NO PURPOSE. Let. It. Go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The 2nd one is rather common. If you’ve been ignoring your body’s signals, this is where you start relearning your body’s needs which will take practice. Sometimes you’ll under eat and sometimes you’ll over eat. Allow yourself that space to learn and trust the messages your body is giving you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are plenty of non-portion control or restriction related things to do about habitual overeating. Ok ok ok the @panerabread summer poppyseed salad is my favorite salad of all time. I literally wait every year for it🙌🏻 It has chicken, strawberries, mandarins, blueberry, pineapple, pecans, and it’s tossed in poppy seed dressing! I don’t go to Panera much because everything has gluten, but this is one of the gluten free options and it makes me SO happy🤩

Does anyone else find it absolutely riveting that simply changing the almond milk to water ratio in oats by less than 1/4 a cup completely changes the texture?? It’s the same with trying different brands of almond milk and changing the container/pot you cook the oats in! CRAZY. Changing it up (lol) can be so fun 💃🏻. Happy Wednesday! . Recipe: cook 1/2 cup @onedegreeorganics sprouted old fashioned oats with 3/4 cup @malkorganics unsweetened almond milk, add in @bobsredmill flaxseed meal, and whatever others goods you want (sometimes I’ll add shredded zucchini in the summer). Top with hemp and/or chia seeds, sautéed cinnamon apples, and @georgiagrinders nut butter 😊.

💃🏻Sharing last nights dinner whilst I’m currently picking up some food on the go in between events in London! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🙌🏻🌱This is was literally so satisfying and so easy to make! TERIYAKI TOFU W/ RICE & GREENS ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You will need: 100g firm tofu (I used smoked), cut into cubes 100g Broccoli, cut into florets 125g wholegrain rice (cooked, I use microwaveable packs!) olive oil teriyaki sauce ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Method: Heat olive oil in a saucepan and cook the tofu until golden - throw the broccoli in there too! Microwave the rice and serve on a plate. Add the tofu and broccoli to the rice plate and finish off with a generous helping of teriyaki sauce! My baby brother came to spend the day with us 👏 and basically watched me pack too 😊 No time for langsous tonight so its a quick quick dinner of prawn chaat and convenient Ghalwas roti with fried hake and scallops. I love these rotis, has to b the best frozen convenience ones i have had yet. Welcome to my Ted talk on why the scale is NOT the primary dictator of progress. I weigh myself pretty infrequently. Mainly because it’s just not a concern to me anymore, which I consider a major win! I do like to do a weigh in for @rippedtoshredz purposes ever 3 or so weeks to see how my body is reacting to my set macros! With my full time job I now am only in the gym 4 days a week, I’ve consistently been hitting about 200 carbs a day and upwards of 58 grams of fat, and the scale? Evvvvvver so slightly up, but I feel BOMB. I’ve noticed more energy, more muscle growth especially in my LE’s, and my workouts have been great. SO, I could look at the number on the scale, panic that it’s remotely higher, and change my macros and start doing more cardio thinking that would help. OR I could look at all other contributing factors to progress and success and choose to focus on those instead! I’ll go with the second option. 🔱Chickpea ‘Tuna’ Salad🔱 This raw vegan salad can be made in less than 10 minutes with no fancy, hard to come by ingredients; and is so filling and feel good! Ingredients: Can of chickpeas Pickle Sea salt and pepper Plain houmous Cherry tomatoes Red onion Lemon juice (1/3 of a lemon) Minced garlic 1. Drain and rinse chickpeas (can keep the chickpea water for other vegan recipes!) 2. Mash chickpeas to whatever consistency you prefer - I personally like mine half mashed half whole 3. Add houmous, salt & pepper, garlic and diced pickle. Continue to mash 4. Mix in diced onion and tomaotes 5. Squeeze in the juice of a 1/3 lemon, mix again. Add extra pepper if desired.

I’ve been finding that my body has been craving extra veggies in the last few days. Don’t get me wrong, I love vegetables but the cravings have been much more than usual 🌶🥦🌽🥗🥕 I don’t know what’s caused the cravings but I’ve been honoring my body and fueling up! So my meals have been loaded with veggies this week (on top of all the whole food goodness from my fruit/veg/berry capsules I take every morning). Then yesterday while I was at work I suddenly had a big craving for something chocolatey 🍫 so in the same way I honored my craving for something nutrient dense, I honored my craving for something sweet!! I went home and had ice cream 🍦no guilt, no beating myself, just pure enjoyment!! Intuitive eating for the win 🙌🏻👏🏻

Why I’m no longer setting aesthetic “goals”: ➖ How many times have you said “just these last 5lbs and I will be happy” or “once I fit in these shorts I will be confident” because I have 🙋🏽‍♀️more times than I’d like to admit. ➖ Was I actually happy when I lost those 5lbs? I have seen so much hype around bok choy that I finally bought some to try myself! Verdict: tastes a bit like sautéed lettuce/cabbage hybrid. Definitely appreciated the flavor and texture and will most definitely be using for more meals! All I did was heat some @chosenfoods avocado oil on medium heat in a skillet. Added a few pieces of bok choy with sea salt, pepper, and some herbs de provence and sautéed until crispy👌🏼

What works for you may not work for someone else. . Eat what makes YOU feel good, and don’t worry about others opinions or judgements. Most of the time I choose gluten-free grains because that’s how I personally feel best. And then there’s days like today where I just want a good piece of toast. . I try not to live under strict labels such as “gluten-free” or “paleo” because that often leads to feelings of guilt when you’re human and slip up. Strict diets are often not sustainable so I recommend being conscious of food choices, choosing the healthier alternative when possible and making healthy eating a lifestyle, not a short term goal. . In the end, you’re doing the best you can for you in this moment, and that’s all that matters. 🙌🏼

I made *vegan* pancakes not because I believe eggs are unhealthy & should be off limits. I made them because my daughter is allergic to eggs🥚. This is for HER health, not because eggs are bad. (if you practice veganism and that works for you, then I respect that. You do you)  You can choose an alternative that works in favor of your health needs whether that means choosing the gluten-free option because you have celiac disease or choosing dairy-free because you're lactose intolerant. But in order for this not to feel like deprivation make sure to 👇  1. Assess your intention. Are you choosing gluten free because you convinced yourself its the "good" choice or because you have an actual intolerance? All foods are morally equivalent!!  2. Find alternatives you actually ENJOY and truly satisfy you😋. Try new products out and experiment in the kitchen💃.   You can choose the healthier alternative for YOU and have a healthy relationship with food at the same time💯! Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and add almond milk, vinegar, sugar, vanilla, and coconut oil. Mix until just blended, you want to leave the lumps (this will ensure fluffy pancakes)! Let it rest 5 minutes (again, this will help with the fluff factor) Heat a small pan or griddle to medium heat and lightly coat with coconut oil. Pour ⅓ cup batter at a time into the heated pan. Flip when sides start to firm up and bubbles begin to form (about 1 minute). Flip and cook additional 30-40 seconds. Repeat with the remaining batter. Enjoy!

Made the best juice from carrots, celery, pineapple, ginger, cucumber and turmeric yesterday and it got me thinking about all the good vs bad info out there on juicing. Is juice good? —vitamins, easily to digest, cleansing etc... Is juice bad? — too much sugar, not enough fiber, no protein etc... I say fuck good or bad! Sure some say it has way to much sugar, some say it’s the ultimate healing tonic. For me, my body lights up when I have freshly pressed juice. I intuitively know it’s good for me because I listen to my body and notice how it reacts. I do make sure my juices are heavy on veggies, but other than that, I drink juice knowing it’s good for me and my health! Are you a juicer? What’s your opinion? Have you been told that juice is Bad? I stepped out of my comfort zone last night 🕺🏻and it was SO worth it! . I have been reading a lot about the communal aspects of food, and I realized that all too often Moon and I will shovel down a rotisserie chicken & premade salad after work skipping the effort, but also the LOVE & CARE required to make a wholesome meals for ourselves. . We really like coconut curry 🥥 from this Thai place near us so while he was still at work I got all excited and decided I was going to go to Trader Joe’s, get all the wholesome ingredients and cook us a loving, flavorful meal we could enjoy together. . But Trader Joe’s was unexpectedly closed 😂 . So I went to the conventional grocery store and bought as many organic ingredients as I could. . At this point he had already made it home, so we cooked together. 🤣I laughed my ass off when he told me to “take an IG model picture of him cooking” 🧐We problem solved together when we realized curry is kind of hard to make flavorful 😋Then, we sat down and REALLY enjoyed the food and each other’s company. . 🌱Was the meal 100% organic? ❌No 🍛 Was it 100% the best curry I’ve ever had? ❌Hell no 💗 Was it 100% the best meal I’ve shared with Moon in a while? ✅You betcha. . Sometimes food needs to be more than just fuel, and last night proved that to me 🌱💜 . What was the last meal you really put time & effort into making?

I spent decades putting my true happiness on hold because of “dieting” and food restriction. My world was spent crunching “numbers” and constantly obsessing over a scale. How bizarre is that? ⁣ ⁣ It took me a long, long time to realize that “dieting” didn’t provide me any nourishment. It’s not sustainable. It’s not natural. And it’s definitely not life. ⁣ ⁣ Once I learned to face my emotions and let go of the inner struggle around body/weight/food/and control - everything changed. ⁣ ⁣ What I’ve learned is that weight loss just happens to be the brilliant byproduct of learning to be normal around food and doing what is correct for and in true harmony with my body.
