Getting older isn’t the doom you think it is. (Doom is that you’re spelling mistake in this graphic! 🤦🏻‍♂️) - I mean your age itself isn’t the doom you think it is when it comes to your fitness and health. - How your life has changed with age is though. - You sit down more than ever and have responsibilities. You’ve got stress no doubt. - You’ve also got more money than you did when you were younger. - So maybe you drive more, eat out and drink more. So even if it seems like you eat the same, there’s a good change you do actually consume more calories. - If you’ve never gotten into any kind of strength training, your muscle mass probably peaked at around 19-25 but since you’ve given your body no reason to keep it, it’s let it go. - Leading to a slower metabolism to some degree, but mainly just makes you softer in general even if your weight hasn’t changed much. - Everything leading up this point has become habit. - The Netflix and snacks habit that keeps you up to midnight and less sleep than you need. - Happy hour drinks that leads to a 4000+ calories consumed. Which you think is way more than you eat because the only accurate reference you *might* have for calories is when you counted 1400-1800 on that diet you followed sometimes. - And now that movement and exercise doesn’t feel great, because you haven’t been moving much, exercise is harder to stick with. - And you’re told, because it’s easy to convince you, the goal you envision for yourself could be 3 months away — when it’s actually more than that — but you go with it. - But it continues to result in no sustainable change. - So you burn less, eat more, have less muscle and movement quality has degraded. Are you wondering where the good news is yet?!?!! - YOU CAN GET IT ALL BACK. - All. Of. It. - Your ability to add that muscle back and then some is 100% possible. - Changing long term behaviors is totally possible. #FoodPsychologyTips : How To Prevent Overeating and Oversnacking _____________________________________________ Heyyy #Thrivers & #WorkoutWarriors ✌🏼Prior, my downfall after a looong, demanding day as I was winding down and watching Netflix, I’d eat my favorite @Sprouts dark chocolate 🍫 almond clusters in my bulk bag. _ I’d tell myself? “Ohh, I’m going to only have a handful.” But, 15 minutes later I realize the bag was nearly empty! _ Possibly, you can relate because when 7-9 PM rolls around, you feel that urge and craving to have dessert or #latenightsnacks You promise to yourself each night, “Tonight I’m going to only eat a little. I’m not going to overeat.” _____________________________________________ SUGGESTIONS: 1. Preportion Snacks Beforehand a) 🔸I’ve only started doing this recently and it’s worked effectively! b) 🔹It’s extra work to preportion ahead of time, but when the hunger strikes I have no patience (let’s be honest) to portion out a smaller portion. #foodieproblems c) 🔸The designated portioned snacks allows me to enjoy my dessert without feeling guilty for overdoing it. 2. Are You Eating Enough Protein, Fats & Micronutrients? a) 🔹I notice that women tend to more salads, not enough fats and protein, which makes them very tired and constantly hungry. 3. Avoid Skipping Meals a) 🔸You may not feel hungry during the work hours bc of stress and demands, but skipping meals sets you up to overeat and eat anything that is in front of you. 4. Constantly Needing to Control & Restrict a)🔹When you’re controlling and restricting for every meal, your mind and body can only withstand so much discipline, self control and willpower. 💥 #knowgains 🏋️ . . Today's Topic . 💥KNOW - MORE THAN COUNTING 💥 - I'm an advocate for calorie counting, but some people just aren't into it 😢so here is a list of things you can do that are going to help with weight loss whether you count calories or not.

1.Stand More
-
For 50 calories an hour more over sitting. Not bad, that stuff adds up. Something tells me you’ll think better too.
-
2.This goes hand in hand with setting a step goal. I think a Pedometer can be really useful. Since I’ve gotten away from in-person personal training to work with clients online full time I noticed a change. Metabolism felt sluggish and energy waned as I sat all day.
-
We’re talking several hundred more calories burned daily here.
-
3.Drink More Water
-
Your weight loss will be easier, just watch. Sometimes your hunger is just thirst. 60-100oz daily is ideal for most. Half your bodyweight in ounces.

4.Sleep More
-
People who sleep less tend to eat more. Somewhere around 300-400 calories daily is where the research seems to point. Have you noticed this? I have. Cravings for processed stuff goes up too. 7-8 hours is ideal.

5.More vegetables
-
Fullness is based more on food volume than on calories. So filling your stomach with stuff that doesn’t have many calories could be very helpful. It’ll just be good for you and tends to keep your meals more nutritious anyways.

6.Cut out food after 8
-
No that eating late makes you fat or because your metabolism slows while you sleep - that stuff doesn’t matter. Because you’re probably mostly eating extras after dinner anyways. Use this if it makes sense for you.
