7/13 Done!!! That sorted me right out!!! I know we dont get fixated on numbers on the scales in here but i weighed myself this morning and the numbers haven’t moved for a few months yet my shape has changed and clothes are fitting nicely!!! Caffeine is a widely used powerful stimulant, often used first thing in a morning or to stay alert throughout the day. It blocks sleep inducing chemicals and increases adrenaline production which reduces sleep quality and prevents you feeling rested. Caffeine has an average half life of five to seven hours so if you drink a cup of coffee around 8pm, 50% is still metabolising at 2am. I included this first shot in these selections from some fun the kids and I had in NH recently because it is a candid and I actually like it. #nsv I love being okay with having pictures of myself taken, liking them often, and even enjoying an occasional candid. I used to hide from the camera and now I frequently hand it to Kevin and get in the frame with my kids, or even to have a shot of just myself. Eleanor took this one after I had given her the camera to take a picture of Desi and me. I love that I'm smiling, happily enjoying the outdoors with my kids. I love that I'm confident in my body and enjoying being active. I love that I can look at this picture and not pick apart my body. This isn't always the case, in fact a beautiful candid of me with my daughter today caused me a lot of distress because of how it showed my excess skin. Sometimes it is so hard to still feel disappointed by what I see when I've worked so hard. No food since breakfast at 9am, we got way too busy to eat! But by 6pm we were so ‘hangry’ that I got worried we might kill each other before we get to the restaurant 🤣 we both are so bad at making decisions on empty stomach! I never share anything personal but I hope someone out there can get inspiration from my journey. After years of struggling of being a emotional eater I decided not to lean on food when I felt down or spend money on any fad diets instead I wanted to change my lifestyle. I still eat everything but In smaller portions. Started exercising in feb 2018. It wasn’t easy carrying all that extra 50 pounds I gained after personal struggles for last 3 years. It was time for change when I didn’t recognize the person I saw in the mirror anymore. It’s been 1 1/2 years I have lost 35lbs. I wanted a change in my life but I realized it had to begin with me. I decided to love myself first. I still have another 15lbs left until I reach my goal. September 4, 2019 (taking some insulin but not checking my blood sugar to see how much I need because I hate pricking my finger and I am having trouble getting a CGM with my sucky insurance) The small amount of insulin I had been taking seems to be keeping the pancreatitis flare ups away HOWEVER....... Had a doctors appointment.... A1C: 11 2 years later and my A1C has only dropped 5 points 🤦🏽‍♀️ My doctor lectured me about the damage I am doing to my body! •I could lose limbs •Heart attack by age 40 (32 now) •Organs will shut down •Lose my eyesight All of this and then, my mom started to cry thinking of the fact that she could outlive me because I’m not managing my diabetes 😩 Since this day, I have been checking my blood sugar regularly and taking insulin as needed. I’ve gained weight back and am now at 185lbs. Lunch packed for tomorrow and on plan! Meals are planned up until Wednesday at supper, when I arrive at a conference. . I am doing Liift 4 so I’ll get 3 workouts in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning and the 4th Saturday morning! There may or may not be a gym at the hotel but I’m sharing a room and would rather not risk getting off track. . Bottle gourd dumplings in Sassy Sauce! Known as 'Kofta' in India. The Sauce though delicious is very basic & versatile.. Made by whizzing tomatoes, onions, cashews, green chillies & ginger together. The bottle gourd is grated & traditionally mixed together with chickpea flour & seasoned with salt and red chilli powder & shaped into balls & fried. I really struggled to get to the gym today but I showed up even in a shitty mood. Homemade tomato sauce base.. with crushed tomato, beef stock, smoked paprika, Moroccan seasoning, Italian herbs.. added minced carrot, celery, zucchini and cherry tomato.. this was cooked down a little before the gnocchi was added and a touch of Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.. 😋 .
