Cardio isn't everything! I have days dedicated to arms, legs, shoulders, abs and butt๐Ÿ‘, back, and on rest days I'll do only cardio. It's good to have rest days where you don't hit the gym, it allows your muscles to re-coop! Most of the time I prefer active rest days of only cardio so I don't miss a day at the gym that then turns into missing a week at the gym (it could happen! ๐Ÿ˜ฐ) I train my muscles so they burn calories and fat for me during the day or at night when I'm cuddling my dogs and watching movies โค๐Ÿถ. My original fitness journey started in 2012 when I was a senior in high school. I lost 70 pounds! Going from 240 to 190 in just 4 months, and finally reaching 170 over the next year and a half of college. BUT, I did not lose weight in a healthy manner- I simply restricted my calories to less than 1100 a day and did some cardio at the gym. Then SURPRISE I gained 60 pounds back while in college when I no longer counted calories and gave up on the gym. So the sad truth is I gained all the weight back after the picture on the right was taken! I did it for the wrong reasons, just to be skinny. I saw it as a short term weight-loss process rather than a lifestyle change. Don't cheat yourself or underestimate your abilities! The most difficult part of being vegan so far is eating out at restaurants that were not chosen by me. If you or someone you know are newly transitioned vegans, my advice would be to eat out less. Home cook your meals more. It's better for you that way anyways and you can be more Certain of the ingredients going into your food. But this was good. BBG resistance workouts done for Pre-Training Week 1 โœ… woohoo! FullBody kills me every time, and today was no different. AND on top of my workout, my friend talked me into a hot yoga class after. So around 700 calories burned today ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ -Food today was so yummy! Rounded out my intake at, 1,245 calories for the day. ๐Ÿ˜Š Brunch: SO GOOD! Leftover Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, hash brown style, topped with chopped uncured bacon and sunny eggs. Dinner: Chicken with my fav @bragglivefoods seasoning, sautรฉed mushrooms, and baked broccolini. Dessert: YALL.... so good ๐Ÿ˜ป fresh sliced banana topped with melted @justins vanilla almond butter, and topped with @enjoylifefoods mini dairy free chips. Felt so indulgent, but it was so not! #winning -Update On Finding Out What's Best for My Body: This week I noticed, unknowingly, I had completely cut out gluten, and then about 99% dairy free. And my bloating is almost completely gone. Correlation? I think so. I think I'm going to stay on this kick and see where it takes me! #Familialhypercholesterol (FH) - genetic mutation causing abnormal levels of #highcholesterol. 1 in 250 people has this silent yet deadly #geneticdisorder with only 1% people properly diagnosed in Canada. This morning we had a little challenge with in our private accountability group and it was all about empowering ourselves. After my speech on Wednesday I felt defeated, I felt like I failed myself because my anxiety got the best of me. But I am getting a second chance on Monday. My professor gave me a great tip to overcome my anxiety and get those feel good hormones flowing through my body. Itโ€™s called a power stance. For two minutes you are required to stand in a โ€œwonder womanโ€ pose. Do not move. Do not talk. Just stand there. And after you feel empowered you are ready to take on the world. I used to believe that in order to โ€œfit inโ€, I had to look a certain way, be a certain weight. I knew that I couldnโ€™t change how I looked but I could control my weight! Can you relate??? I was so focused on FAST, I did not even consider if they were healthy. I finally hit the wall and decided it was time to try something different. Fad diets, donโ€™t teach you proper portion control, how to pay attention to the quality of your food or provided you with amazing daily support! I wonder where the lady that worked so hard to achieve this shirt has went to? If you see her, tell her to come back and make the shift again! Stop letting life and people derail her!!
