⬇️WHY I ♥️ INCLINE BENCH⬇️ . 1. It’s an exercise that you can progressively overload (adding more weight over time), meaning there will always be room for improvement. . 2. Since it’s a very similar movement to the flat bench, it will help you add some strength to your bench. . 3. Went beast mode today. My husband came in and told me I needed to be lifting heavier. And just for that I will be including him in a story later 😂 No really sometimes you need that extra push. He’s right. I love Kid Cudi if you haven’t noticed and love to dance. I think I spent half the time dancing to the music. Hey the musics good 🙌🏻

Movement of the day! Curls for the damn girls guys. Ok so my biggest pet peeve in the gym is EGO LIFTERS, and trust you me... I used to be one and would literally get so angry when I couldn’t perform the movement correctly 🤦🏻‍♂️ learn from my mistakes! Pick a weight that you can do for a good 15-20 reps but here is the trick, when you curl it - you want to really flex that bicep and hold it there for a second, then come down slowly without swinging the weight. I did this for about 6 sets and progressively went up weight until I reached a weight where I could only do 6 proper reps. The lighting was kind of crappy! How do we get from 🤢(chest fall pattern where the torso is more horizontal) to yasss where the the torso rises at the same time the knees extend? 1️⃣ way to work on this is to use paused squats. Pausing at the bottom forces you to stay tight at the bottom and punishes you for getting out of position. This also lightens the load enough to make it easier to push your upper back into the bar when you first try to rise out of the hole. It’s a day for transparency. I need to put my goals in the forefront of my brain. _____________________________________________________________ The girl in the left was hurting - badly. Mentally, I was in a really bad space. I overcompensated with work. They offered overtime - I took it. I wasn’t sleeping...maybe 2 hours each night. I was living on Mountain Dew. It’s what kept me alive, while killing me outside. I was tapped out and rock bottom was my new friend. _____________________________________________________________ The girl on the right....un-MF-stoppable. Positive affirmations keep me sane. My strength was not limited to physical fitness. I was regaining control of ME. _____________________________________________________________ So, where am I now? Now, I’m maintaining. I’m maintaining my happiness. I’m maintaining my sanity. I’m maintaining ME and honestly, I’m 100% with removing anything and anyone who ATTEMPTS to come in between that. I’m not for it. Yes, I’m selfless, BUT I’m not negotiating my happiness. _____________________________________________________________ My point in this is to love yourself in EVERY stage. I didn’t love the girl on the left. I truly didn’t. I created a “new” person to be happy.... that’s no way to live.
