Sorry for the picture double post.... The picture on the left was taken February of 2018, and the right was October 2019. A year and 8 month difference. A lot of people don’t work out/continue going to the gym because they are not seeing results. “Gains” are sure to come, even though they are slow to come in some situations.. I promise you, results will come sooner or later. Most don’t know I was in a motorcycle accident in 2017, and the recovery including therapy was about a year, broke my ankle in three spots and completely banged up my left wrist. After my accident I lost almost all motivation because of how far the accident set me back. But I excelled, simply because I’m hungry. Im hungry to always better myself physically and mentally regardless of the bends in the road life gives me. Yesterday I was in a FUNK. 🙄 • The weather was beautiful, but I was stuck in an emotional funk. I am human and I have my days too. I felt tearful and lacked energy all day. When the seasons 🍂change and it starts getting dark 🌚 earlier, this sadness starts creeping in. #seasonaldepression is real. Who else deals with this? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I needed to go to the gym and lift heavy shit and be pushed. YES...coaches lack motivation sometimes and need to be coached and challenged too. Thanks @champgamelive for encouraging me to go to the gym and getting me out of the house. Thanks @cfriverport for a great workout. I love the endorphin rush after working out. It seriously is my 🥰 THERAPY. For all my #MM100 ladies out there. I replaced my “MeltCon” workout with metabolic conditioning and strength at the gym. Switching it up sometimes is important. Be in tune with your body and what it needs! So I challenge you to be aware of your emotions. Talk about them. Acknowledge these changes (instead of ignoring it). Then take the healthy action to cope. Sometimes that’s rest. Sometimes that’s unplugging. Sometimes that’s kicking it in high gear and working out or being productive to feel accomplished. A big morning for 3 of our amazing ladies 🔥🔥🔥 . 👉 1st Unassisted Chin Up For Tessa . 👉 1st Unassisted Pull Up for Karen (This was a long term goal Karen wanted to hit before she turned 50...and she did it with 1 day to spare!!) . 👉 1st Unassisted Chin Up For @caz_ritchie . It's funny because a lot of the women who join our tribe are already training to some extent. . But not getting the results they want. . Not just Physically but in their lives... . Mentally.. . Their energy.. . Their relationships... . It's not uncommon for a Woman to join us who is Training 6-7 days a week. . Sometimes multiple times a day. . 6+ Hours per week . Because they think it's what they're “supposed to do” to make progress. . Inspired by all this ''no pain no gain'' bullshit. . Then when they miss a day they feel guilty. . And they WILL miss a lot of days...because as busy Career Women with limited time these routines are completely unsustainable! . In reality, training so frequently is the thing that's holding them back. . For busy Career Women, training this much at a high intensity will burn you out, fry your nervous system and give you next to no chance of actually recovering from your workouts. . ❌ Leading to LESS energy . ❌ Limited strength gains . ❌ Reduced capacity across the other areas of your life OUTSIDE THE GYM. . Well, I have been thinking about this day for the past 5 weeks. Had my gym bag packed and ready 2 days ago. It did not disappoint. The plan today was to put 400 on the bar and see what happens. Ended up with 420 for a double at about 2-board height and no signs of slowing down. Clip 1: Equipped Bench top set at 420 for 2 reps. Clip 2: My double before that with 400. In 4 weeks we’ll put 440+ on there and see if we can get a touch. Couldn’t be happier. I was hoping to end up in the mid-400s next summer and that’s where I am going to be starting by the end of this year.
