I would love to help you. - 🏃🏼‍♂️Typically, when I walk into a gym I always see too many people doing cardio. I think it’s a cause of them being comfortable and the fact that cardio has been praised for weight loss over the past 20 years. - 😎Believe it or not there is a time and place to do some cardiovascular activity. In my personal opinion cardio should be less than 15% of your overall gym activity. - When is cardio okay? ✅After a lifting session. A good finisher or a light cardio bout post lift can be beneficial. - ✅Light bout on rest days. This can actually help a little bit of soreness if you have any. Take it easy though. - When is cardio NOT okay? 🚫Before a lifting session. You want to have as much energy and focus as possible for your large strength lifts. If you are running 2 miles before dropping under a squat rack, don’t expect to hit any PRs. - 🚫Morning after evening lift session. This is one some may contest, but you need to allow your body to recover in order to get adaptations and be ready for another session. I think you should give yourself at least 12 hours before training again. If you can do closer to 24, even better! - 💪🏻Go get my new program(link in bio)! So often people want results immediately - so much so that when they don't see the progress they want they tend to give up as if what they're doing is not working. · · In my opinion, a lot of this is due to false advertisement on social media - you see someone who lost a crazy amount of weight and has an unrealistic/unsustainable body that you want except no one explains how long it took to get there (months and months)! Not to mention, some people do not use the best practices as in some low carb or low calorie diets which can be harmful to your body for long periods of time. · · Now don't get me wrong, sometimes you will drop dramatic amounts of weight at the beginning of a work out program due to bloating, cleansing of the body and water weight reduction - like the picture above where I am am down about 10 lbs after just a little over 2 weeks of training! However, the weight loss will slow down to a safe pace of losing .5-1 lb per week! · · Another thing that will help is progress pics and measurements - the scale will not always show the progress you've made, but pictures and measurements will!! Check down below for how I set up my work outs!! 💎💎💎💎 · · After playing soccer in college and gaining so much muscle - when I say I was done lifting heavy weights..... I was ddooonnneeee lifting! Because in college, we gained weight and bulky muscles and I was not a fan of the look. Post college, like most ladies, I didn't want to gain weight and muscle, BUT I'm here to tell you to please stop thinking that if you lift weights you'll get huge! · · If you are looking to gain lean muscle mass, make sure to keep the reps per set high - typically between 12-15 reps per set.
