What no bee? Did you know? The last 20 years have witnessed a dramatic and unprecedented decline in bee populations. While intensive agriculture and the massive use of pesticides are believed to be the chief culprits, new practices among beekeepers also appear to be a contributing factor. The impact is great in that three-quarters of plants on earth depend on animal pollinators. They predict that if bees and other pollinators continue to die their absence could trigger a global crisis . #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Pretty sure this one is a Bark anolis(anolis distichus dominicensis) Let's have this little friend as the first vertebrate subject of the page. It's difficult to photograph them during the day, since they are very active and also extremely shy with humans, runing away almost immediately, but that's bot the case during the night when you can find them sleeping on the branches of small plants. He wasn't really happy that i waked him up with my flash though😂 #lizard #reptile #anolis #barkanolis #reptiles #lagarto #nightphotoshoot #closeup #cellphonephotography #macromobile #macro #mobileclikcs #fotografia #wildlife #biodiversity #discover #green #onceuponamacro #macroalit #macro_eg #macroshot #fauna #faunadominicana #sancristobal #republicadominicana #nature #naturelover #naturepics #animal

Did you know? At the beginning of her life, a Bumblebee queen hatches from a nest full of hundreds of other Bumblebees all working for one thing: to help the queen. However, once Queen eggs have started hatching, the Queen of this nest is no longer laying worker bee eggs. The current workers are the last of this year's stock, and are there just to make sure the Queen has enough supplies to last her through hibernation. The workers will die off when the weather gets cold. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Reduviidae, Zelus Longipes (Milkweed assassin bug) These are the most common assassin bugs in the place i live and i always find them fascinating(they are very shy and run away whenever they see you less than 2 meters away aproaching a little bit too fast, so it can be a little bit stresing and difficult to photograph them sometimes, still trying to get a great photo of them). They're called like that because they ressemble milkweed bugs and they are important biocontrol agents. Fact: Did you notice the little hairs they have on they front legs? They produce a sort of sticky glue that allows the milkweed assassin bug to catch and inmobilize their preys with their front legs easier! #assassinbug #zeluslongipes #milkweedassassinbug #reduviidae #predator #wildlife #cellphonephotography #mobileclick #macromobile #macro #macro_highlight #macro_captures_ #macro_eg #macroworld #arthropodsanonymous #arthropod_perfection #closeup #biodiversity #wholelottabugs #beautiful_insects_japan #dominicanisects #insects_of_our_world #insectphotography #insecto #chincheasesina #nature #naturepics #discover #bug

Did you know? The thing Africanized bees are most known for is their sting. But the sting is no different than a European honey bee. Africanized bees are only a bit more sensitive to the signals bees use to trigger a defense or sting response. This means they are quicker and more likely to sting, and that is what makes them more dangerous to be around. However like the European honey bee they are only defensive at their nest. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? To collect nectar, bees must reach deep into the center of the flower. Since stamens containing pollen surround the nectaries, bees are forced to rub against the stamens to reach the nectar. The pollen sticks to their hairy bodies, aided by electrostatic charges and the stickiness of pollen grains. As a result, even those bees that are not actively collecting pollen are pollinating the flowers they visit. As the forager collects nectar from each successive flower, the pollen grains adhering loosely to her body are easily rubbed onto the stigma of another flower. In contrast, the pollen grains packed tightly into a corbicula do not release easily. Instead, they are lost to pollination. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Pretty in pink. But did you know? Solitary bees tend to be smaller and their family unit is made up of a single pair. Although lots of solitary bees can be found in one area, they operate alone. Bumblebees are distinguished by their large furry bodies and species include the black and-yellow striped Garden bumblebee and Red-tailed bumblebee. Solitary bees include mason bees, leaf-cutter bees and mining bees. The Wool-carder bee strips hair from plants to weave its nest, while the Red mason bee lives inside hollow plant stems and holes in wood. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? Believe it or not, insects “smell” with their antennae. Special proteins in the antennae called odorant receptors allow the insect to recognize chemicals in the environment. The ability to perceive odors is very important in insects; they need to be able to smell possible food sources, locate a mate, and avoid their enemies. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? The Early Bumblebee workers and the males are a little smaller than those of the Common Carder Bee. The front of the thorax is covered with yellow hairs, and it may be covered with yellow hairs entirely, especially in males. Often the first part of the abdomen is yellow as well, but the yellow hairs may be absent. The tail is strikingly orange. In older specimens the colouring may be less striking as the hairs tend to become dirty white, as in many other species. Due to its small size and colouring the Early Bumblebee is often easily identifiable. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? Carder Bumblebees earn this name from their habit of combing material together (carding) to create a covering for the cells containing the larvae. This species usually creates its nestsabove ground, often in grass tussocks, in old mouse runs through grass, in tangles of vegetation or just under the surface of the soil. Colonies vary in size, and can contain up to 200 workers. Only young queens survive the winter; they establish new nests in spring. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? Most bumblebees have many tiny mites clinging to their bodies. In most cases the mites are difficult to see, but sometimes they can cover large parts of the bumblebee’s body. The good news is that most of the mite species that live with bumblebees are fairly harmless to them and are simply clinging to the bumblebee so that they can be transported to new nests. When in the nest, the mites usually feed upon the wax, pollen, nest debris, and other small insects, so do not feed on the bees. Then, when they reach a certain stage in their life cycle, the mites cling to worker bees, and are transported onto flowers. From these flowers, the mites then attach to other visiting bees, and are transported to new nests. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

In the pink. Did you know? Bees have five eyes, two large compound eyes, one on either side of their head and three smaller eyes, called ocelli, at the top of their heads. The compound eyes have thousands of lenses (ommatidia) which most likely give them a pixilated view of the world. Honey bees can see light, motion, and colours. A short hair grows in the intersections of the compound lenses of the eye. These hairs are believed to detect wind direction and may be used by the bees to stay on course in windy conditions. The ocelli serve as a kind of navigation system allowing the bee to triangulate its position relative to the sun and thus to find its way home. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? The only one of three all-ginger bumblebees to be a member of the ‘Big 7’ widespread and abundant species, it is found in a wide range of habitats across the UK, including gardens. The earliest of the carders to emerge in spring, and usually the latest-flying of the bumblebees from summer nests (Buff-tailed bumblebees, Bombus terrestris, increasingly show winter-nesting behaviour). Males, workers and queens are similar in appearance, ginger-brown all over with no clearly-delineated tail. Females usually have creamy-white sides to the thorax while males are often yellower, with more obvious facial hair tufts. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro

Did you know? A Cardre bee queen collects moss and grass to form a small, hollow sphere whose walls are partly bonded with wax and sealed off. Within this is formed a large bowl of brown wax of about 5 mm in diameter, which is filled with pollen. Thereafter, five to 15 eggs are deposited, and the cell closed. Another 20-mm-high cup is then filled with nectar, thus serving as its own food reserve for bad weather days. After three to five days, the larvae hatch to feed on the pollen. After about a week, the larvae are mature. #macro_perfection #macro_freaks #macro_captures #fiftyshades_of_macro #masters_in_macro #macro_mood #themacroshots #macro_friends #macroviewpoint #macro_brilliance #rebel_macro #macro_shots #1macroshot #macro_perfect #invert_macro #macro_perfections #igmw_macro #magicalmacro #creative_macros #macrolove #macrovision #macro_delight #onceupon_a_macro #macro_connect #macro_mania_ #macro_mx #macro_eg #mat_macro_bees #macro_delight #passion_in_macro
