Happy Saturday! So let me start by saying that I have been devouring books lately as I’m working on building a program for my weight coaching business. 🤓 Of all the books I’ve read thus far, I truly believe in the principles of this one. 👊 My own weight loss journey of 80 pounds was not done with one leap. It broke it down into phases. When I first started I was desperate and wanted to do whatever I could to lose the weight. I thought it was embarrassing for me to weigh so much (206) at my age (16 at the time). However, after trying crash dieting I decided I would take an approach that involved small changes instead. ❤️ I remember a time when I realized that I could still eat Peanut M&Ms and Lose weight #bestdayever 😂😂😂. . . I’m sharing this because I think that a lot of people who genuinely desire to lose weight talk themselves out of it because they think they have to completely change their entire life to do so. Here’s the truth: you only have to change one thing and keep it. What if the one thing you changed was going from no workouts to taking a 5 minute walk 3 times a week? What if the change is that you currently eat no vegetables and you would eat a piece of broccoli with dinner 3 times a week? Believe it or not- small changes over time totally work! . . Even after losing 80 pounds, I still eat donuts, I still have m&ms, and have treats. I just don’t make them the focal point of my day anymore. 👍 . . Today I wanted to starve, I wanted to give up, I didn’t get out of bed or eat anything until 4:30pm. I had no will to carry on, to fight or the continue 😔 I felt like a failure, a burden and my brain told me I deserve it, I don’t belong here and everything I’ve done is wrong. But there came my challenge, it wasn’t about tackling a specific food or meal it was about refusing to give in. I could have stayed in bed and starved, it would have been so much easier, I could have self harmed again it would have momentarily relieved my frustration or I could find whatever fight I had left and move forward no matter how hard it was. Guess which one I chose. I forced myself out of bed with whatever energy I could summon and I pushed on, I didn’t eat anything super excited or crazy outside of my comfort zone but I ate (semi binged but managed to pull it in). Some days the biggest challenge is just to get through the day, sometimes that’s the hardest challenge of all. Crispy lemon parmesan-broiled tilapia is what’s for dinner tonight 👏🏻🐟 - #whatsonmyplate: (RECIPE) lemon-parmesan broiled tilapia 👉🏻 ¼ cup parmesan cheese • 2 tsp. grassfed butter, softened • 1 ½ tablespoons • primalkitchenfoods avocado oil mayo • 1 tablespoon lemon juice • ¼ tsp. dried basil pinch of salt • pinch of fresh black pepper • 1 lb. tilapia • 1) Preheat oven broiler. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper. 2) Combine all ingredients in a bowl except tilapia, and stir until well combined. 3) Arrange tilapia filets on the baking sheet and place under the broiler for 3 mins, then flip and cook an additional 2 minutes. 4) Remove pan from oven and cover the top side of the filets with parmesan mixture. Been baking this morning! Decided to make another batch of #fatbombs even though I failed tremendously trying to follow the Keto Diet! I ate lots of fat and cut carbs way down but it didn’t work for me. I have to listen to my body (and the scale - lol) saying back down. Back to the basics. I love the idea of the Keto Diet but I didn’t tap into it like others do and see success. You have to do what’s right for you, your body and lifestyle. Limiting to 20 net carbs was nearly impossible for me as everything has carbs. A little before the #filwychallenge started I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd, we are so excited!!! So I’ve been doing a little modified schedule for the challenge - some weeks I’ve worked out 4-5x others only 1-2x. This week I didn’t make it past legs 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ But here’s my “progress.” I’ve pretty much maintained which I’m happy with. I’ve been eating intuitively, when I do track I realize I’m not getting anywhere near my protein goals and going way over in fats and carbs. I’m hoping to maintain this weight for a little while longer and continue to walk and do mini workouts throughout this pregnancy.

Pro Tip! When trying to stay in a caloric deficit (eat less calories than you burn) fill your meals up with veg. . . About 2 years ago on a @puregymofficial Pure Lifestyle course I learned a fantastic way to describe certain foods. Vegetables are generally nutrient dense foods which you can consume in higher amounts than a food which is calorie dense AKA Chocolate biscuits 😂 it’s always good to think about the food your eating and what category it goes into: nutrient dense vs calorie dense. . .
