All I know is being back in the gym makes me happy. I didn’t make it out of the house until after 6pm today. . My motivation just wasn’t there, and I simply didn’t want to do anything. . But I finally did. Guys, I gotta brag on this a little bit. Coronavirus took going to the gym away, but ain’t nobody taking away the working out. I know it’s tough to find motivation without a good setup. I was in that boat, but decided to make the best of the situation and take some construction know-how to the gym. After a couple of days working on the setup, we’ve finally completed it. ⁣ ⁣ I started by building a squat rack, making and upholstering a bench. Poured some concrete plates, rubber coated them, filled a fence post with concrete and used it for a bar. Built a pull up rack. Then I decided it looked really trashy, but if I put it on a rubber floor, it might just look better, so I ordered some rubber flooring. The rubber flooring took 2 weeks to get here, so in the meantime, I figured I’d insulate all the walls with batts, and then added some r-tech foam board so the garage would have a nice shiny finish. ⁣ ⁣ What do you guys think? Used myself as a guinea pig today, was curious how much my vitals would change before and after a skills course as the outside temperature creeped up to 100 degrees. Before - 249LBS, BP of 136/84, HR was 76 NSR on the monitor, 111 BGL, 98.5 degree temp. ~10min after completing 2 rounds of our 8 events: i weighed 241LBS, BP of 136/88, ST at 136 on the monitor, BGL 102, Temp 101.3 degrees. My investment is paying off. I'm up $1000 if I sold today. I (almost) brought the dip on AREITs through a Managed Fund I'd invested with in the past. $16.2k was all the investment cash I could get together and that's how much we've shovelled in so far in MAY2020. It's recovering already. I'm still buying as much as possible while it's under $1.50. 2018 Physique . May 16, 2018 . School had provided a lot of carb-loaded meals, and I’d say it showed 😂 . During the school year I had in fact bought a gym membership, but I didn’t have a car, so didn’t go very often! 😭 . Arriving back at home again for the summer, I decided I would take more process pics and really try to be more committed with the gym. (Which once again didn’t really happen 😭 Good thing that’s not the end of the story!) . Also, about my left shoulder, it’s been a struggle for a while, and I knew it was bad, but looking back at pictures (esp the last one), I never really knew HOW bad it was. Muscles were tight as a rock, and had a lot of restricted movement. (Something I’m still working to fix!) Around this time, I had been getting back spasms, where I would have to lay on the floor and just hope they would stop. It was honestly the worst. And a lame summer full of laziness, pain, uncertainty, and loneliness followed, but thankfully that’s not where it ended. . SOMETIMES, it takes time to get moving in the right direction. Don’t let that be a reason to quit. If you keep your eyes focused on that goal long enough, the persistence and perseverance to follow through will come! . Who here has eaten chocolate for breakfast, then continued to throw the whole day away into a calorie tornado? I know I have! 🙋🏼‍♂️ ⁣ ⁣ I vividly remember the first time working with a coach and understanding energy balance. I realised that I could in fact have some food that I considered ‘unhealthy’ or ‘cheat’ food like wtf that’s not going to get me shredded?!⁣ ⁣ Since then it’s been 4 years growing this mindset and even now, when I diet I like to go a bit ‘Bro’ on it.. it gets my head in it. ⁣ ⁣ A overly restrained eater within a diet is more likely to binge and subsequently regain weight after a diet⁣ ⁣ So where’s the balance? Awareness. These foods tend to be damn tasty and life would be sad without them. They have their place!⁣ ⁣ I aim to have a small amount of hyperpalatable food in my diet all the time.. HOW TO GROW YOUR ARMS FROM HOME 🔥⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Not everyone has big heavy weights to use at the moment so here are my top tips to help you attack your arms with limited equipment.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⚡️ Use resistance bands added to your dumbbells or barbells for extra resistance without having to fork out for more weight⁣ ⁣ ⚡️ Put a big focus on slow eccentrics to add more time under tension on the muscle. A nice 3 count on the downwards phase of a movement will make it a lot harder without a bit amount of weight.⁣ ⁣ ⚡️ Use supersets (2 exercises back to back without rest) to lift the intensity through the roof!⁣ ⁣ ⚡️ Use occlusion bands to increase blood flow to the working muscle. Но давление общества однажды и меня заставило выйти на пробежку 😬 ⠀ Действительно ли кардиотренировки - самые эффективные для жиросжигания? ⠀ Давайте разберемся. ⠀ 💦 В первую очередь стоит обратить внимание на интенсивность. Кардио тренировка должна быть аэробной, тогда организм может использовать в качестве энергии жир, а не мышечный гликоген, как это происходит при анаэробных нагрузках (силовых и интенсивных кардио). К примеру, бег в спокойном темпе на долгую дистанцию - это аэробная нагрузка, в то время как спринт - это анаэробная. 💦 Жир тело будет сжигать только при наличии дефицита калорий. Так что сколько не прыгай на скакалке - если после тренировки ты втопчешь тарелку макарон с майонезом и полторта, никакие прыжки не помогут. 🍑 Да, в процессе силовых нагрузок расходуется не жир, а мышечный гликоген. НО! Благодаря силовым тренировкам происходит мышечная гипертрофия. То есть у вас растут мышцы, которые сами по себе тратят калории просто, когда они есть. Так что в долгосрочной перспективе силовые тренировки также помогут в похудении. 🍑 Как было сказано ранее - очень важно создать качественный дефицит калорий. А силовые нагрузки в этом - отличный помощник. Кроме того силовые тренировки помогут после похудения стать обладателем не только худого, но и подтянутого тела с красивой формой. ⠀ ❗️Ещё пару слов о беге. К удивлению многих - это не самый оптимальный, хоть и очень распаренный, вариант кардио. Для многих он противопоказан, так как оказывает негативное влияние, как на суставы, так и на кровеносную систему - нагружает сердце и способствует развитию варикоза. ⠀ Вывод какой? Is fresh food really better for you than frozen food? Broccoli addition. • Something we hear our online clients say is fresh food is always better than frozen. This is a pretty popular consensus among the population as a whole. • Good news for you is there isn’t a huge difference between fresh and frozen. Today we are looking at broccoli. • You can see in the image above there isn’t a ton of difference between fresh and frozen. The macronutrients are pretty much the same. We do lose some of the micronutrients but overall there isn’t a huge difference in overall nutrition except for maybe the vitamin C but you are still getting 70% of your recommended daily value. • Next time you are at the grocery store and that broccoli is looking questionable make your way over to the freezer aisle and get some frozen broccoli.
