Not sure how to make these "chocolate covered-peanut butter filled dates" look good. But they taste amazing.... especially if you add a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate! 🍫🍫 ➡️ Also i want to remind everyone that it's fine to eat whatever you want this festive season. One meal or one day of eating differently won't affect your health. It's your daily habits and routines that matter. ➡️ In the future you will remember the good memories and good times... not whether you ate a few extra cookies or not. ➡️ And if you are struggling with an eating disorder... the holidays and season feasts are the best time to fight your eating disorder and go against the voice in your head. Because the only way to recover is to do the opposite of what your eating disorder tells you. You can't compromise, instesd you have to face the fears and know that you will get stronger, and overtime it gets easier. Recovery may be tough and the holiday season may be tough for many but you can get through it 💕 ➡️ P.s if you need a sweet/salty snack... MAKE THESE 😋😋🍫

When I was younger, I went through this phase where I didn’t want to eat meat. Even my favorite chicken cutlets was a turn off because I had this aversion to chewing protein. Back then, my dad knew that if he served my mom’s cheesey chicken cutlets with our favorite honey bear, that there would be a greater chance of me eating it. I figured that I would try the same principle with my veggie kebabs and my kids. Only this time I’m using @thespoiledmummy ‘s @gracehomemanila Spiced Rosemary Honey for another #meatless dish for the family. | SPAGHETTI w/ MEATLESS MEATBALLS | . These delicious 'meatballs' are made with eggplant, mushrooms and quinoa... and are super YUM!! . Ingredients: 1 1/2 finely chopped onion 250g mushrooms finely chopped 250g eggplant finely chopped 20g dried shiitake mushrooms 1/4 cup black quinoa Olive oil 4 tsp liquid smoke 1 tsp balsamic vinegar 1 handful chopped parsley + extra 2 handfuls chopped basil + extra 2 small pieces gluten free bread 5 cloves garlic 40g walnuts 1 tsp dried or fresh rosemary 1/4 tsp chilli flakes 800g chopped tomatoes salt and pepper to taste . Method: Place shiitake mushrooms in a bowl and cover with boiling water, setting aside for approx 20mins. Add 1/2 cup boiling water to a small pot with 1/4 cup black quinoa, simmer for 10 mins, then remove from heat, pop lid on and let sit for a further 10mins. . Add 1 onion, mushrooms and eggplant to fry pan on medium heat (removing the shiitake from the water before adding). Add a good amount of olive oil, salt and pepper and add water as needed to soften and brown. . In the meantime toast the bread, place in food processor with walnuts, 1 clove of garlic and dried rosemary and blend until you have a fine crumb. Scoop out of food processor and set aside. . Place all veg in food processor once soft and browned, and blend until smooth but still a little chunky. Add your quinoa, bread mix (save some to garnish), 1 handful parsley, 1 handful basil and season with salt and pepper. Roll into balls and fry gently in a little oil of your choice until golden. . To make the sauce, sauté 1/2 a chopped onion and 4 sliced cloves of garlic, then add tomatoes, a good handful of fresh basil, a pinch of salt, some cracked black pepper & chilli flakes and allow to simmer until reduced. In the meantime cook your fave spaghetti until al dente. Just before serving add another small handful of fresh basil to the sauce then serve up!! INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the oven to 350°F. Melt the margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and celery and cook, stirring often, until tender, about 5 minutes Add the zucchini, salt, thyme, red pepper flakes, and pepper. Cook until the zucchini is just tender, 8 to 10 minutes. In a cup, dissolve the cornstarch in the half-and-half. Pour over the zucchini and cook, stirring, until thickened and coating the vegetables, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream and 3 tablespoons of the cheese. Scrape into a 2-quart baking dish. Mix together the bread crumbs and remaining tablespoon of cheese. Sprinkle evenly over the top. Bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Turn on the broiler and broil until the top is lightly browned, about 1 minute Patti’s Pointers: If you ever have leftover fresh zucchini, here’s another easy way to serve it. Fire up the grill and cut the zucchini lengthwise into slabs about ½ inch thick. Brush both sides of the slabs with a mixture of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill over a medium-hot fire until tender, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Serve as whole slabs (great in sandwiches too!) or cut into bite-size pieces and serve as a side dish. Make the healthy pantry swap today! 😊🌱 ・・・ Celebrate #MeatlessMonday by preparing Scrambled Tofu! With the right herbs and spices, it's reminiscent of good ol' scrambled eggs. I levelled it up by adding spinach and sundried tomatoes as well as placing it on top of a savory sweet potato cake (pending recipe since I still have to make certain adjustments). What would you pair scrambled tofu with? ♡ SCRAMBLED TOFU Tofu, crumbled (I used firm tofu) Ground turmeric (for coloring) Herbs and spices: ground black pepper, cayenne pepper (optional), dried basil leaves Organic coconut sap aminos from @farmtofolkph Garlic, minced White onions, minced Spinach, blanched Sundried tomatoes Tear the tofu into crumbs. Add ground turmeric until it becomes light yellow in color. Add ground black pepper, cayenne pepper (optional), and dried basil leaves. Heat the pan with oil (I used an olive oil spray). Sautee the garlic and onions. Add the tofu and cook it for a bit. Add the spinach and sundried tomatoes at the last minute (since vegetables cook a lot faster). Pour organic coconut sap aminos (I filled almost half of the bottle's cap). Mix until cooked. Place the scrambled tofu on top of each savory sweet potato cake. If you love garlic as much as I do, you may cook extra minced garlic until golden. Sprinkle it on the scrambled tofu!

Chocolate Pretzel Tart A complete re-interpretation of Donna Hay's Chocolate Pretzel Cake so much that it is literally not even the same thing anymore lol. A very rich and silky dessert with some crunchy pretzelly deliciousness. Costs about $10, serves 16 or so people (it's so rich), takes 10 minutes plus several hours' chilling time, and is actually a fair source of iron - with more benefits the darker your chocolate is. Ingredients: 200g dairy-free dark chocolate (I used Lindt 70% cocoa smooth blend) 1 x 400ml can coconut cream 1/3 cup rice malt syrup Pretzels Pinch salt Method: Gently melt chocolate, coconut cream and syrup together. Pour into a lined 20cm springform tin and refrigerate for an hour. Remove from fridge and top wity pretzels, then return to the fridge for another 3 hours or until completely set. Top with a sprinkle of salt when serving.

Lo preparo con frecuencia para tenerlo a disposición para mis bowls y ensaladas; les da ese toque crunchy 😍😍 y un sabor 😚😚. Necesitas: Hojuelas de coco (estoy usando las integrales de @somosbio. Se las requete recomiendo, son bien crocantes, están buenisimas!), salsa de tomate natural o embotellada (pero fijate que no tenga azúcar, harinas, agentes espesantes, glutamato monosódico etc. Yo uso de la marca Mutti), aminos o shoyu, humo líquido, comino, pimienta cayena o chili en polvo, sal marina, tilín de endulzante Mezclar todo en un bowl, verificando que se impregnen bien las hojuelas. Dejar reposar unos minutos y hornear hasta que doren. Dejar enfriar y guardar en un envase. Listo! Rico no?

Sorry Wicked Wines, maar deze veggieburger scoorde toch wat minder. Niet vanwege de burger zelf, die denk is van @devegetarischeslager is? Helemaal top, niets mis mee! Ook niet vanwege de combinatie van toppings, want ‘klassieke burger’ dus mij heb je. Echter was het broodje een beetje droog en koud (?) en waren ook de toppings (sla, tomaat ea) nog op koelkasttemperatuur. What tips will you be practicing? Leave your comments below ⬇️ 1. Eat breakfast. Skipping meals leads to over eating, not to mention those crazy blood sugar lows then highs. Those glucose rollercoasters also continue to affect you long after the dishes are done. 2. While you’re at it, make sure breakfast includes protein and fat (ex: yogurt, eggs) 3. MOVE: Turkey burn 5k, take a walk before dessert, organize a family football game. You get the idea 🏃‍♀️ 4. Stay hydrated.. on water 😬 5. Fill up on vegetables, even better if they are roasted rather the heavy green bean casserole (but have that too!) 6. Sleep. Research shows lack of sleep = stress hormone spikes = cravings for starchy / sugary foods 7. Mindful eating: how does the food smell? Taste? Look? Be aware of your surroundings rather shoveling food into the mouth without ENJOYING those yummy flavors. 8. Be intentional: listen to your belly, stop eating when the belly hits 80%. Avoid that high blood sugar crash from stuffing (pun intended) yourself full of carbs 9. Limit alcohol and other empty calories 10. Remember, you actually CAN eat pumpkin pie year round. Having that diet mentality often leads to binge eating and negative self talk. Knowing that it’s fine to have sweet potato casserole or your grandmas pie gives your brain permission to stop eating when satisfied. 11. Portion your own food. Instead of having a loved one serve a piece of cake the size of a pumpkin - you be in control. 12. Although food is my love language, and is often the center of gatherings choose a new focus.. whether that’s gathering with family, eating with friends, or maybe even meeting a new friend.

Most people are talking Turkey today, but I need to give some serious props to this incredible Mushroom 🍄 Stroganoff created by the wildly talented culinary team at @figfarro ! . The Hubbs and I recently shared this delightful dish along with Yellow Pea Falafel (+ tzatziki, fennel, arugula, pomegranate seeds) and Fried Cauliflower (+ za'atar, preserved citrus tahini) over Happy Hour at Fig + Farro (Mon - Fri, 4 - 6pm... $4 Beer + House Wine), and we're both craving it ALL again! . Fig + Farro makes their pasta fresh in-house with only the best ingredients. There's nothing better than fresh pasta -- except fresh pasta complimented by all kinds of fresh, local ingredients. . Summer Tomato & Zucchini Quinoa Pizza by @ simplyquinoa Ingredients 3/4 cup white quinoa, soaked in 3 cups water 1 (10 oz) container Sabra Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, divided 2 tablespoons water 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1 small zucchini 2 tomatoes 1 cup shredded vegan cheese (or regular cheese) Finely chopped basil & roasted red pepper flakes to garnish . Instructions 1.Soak quinoa in warm water for at least two hours, preferably overnight.  2. When ready to make, preheat the oven to 425ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Drain and rinse the quinoa in a fine mesh sieve, then add it to a blender along with 1/4 cup hummus, 2 tablespoons water, baking powder and sea salt. Blend on high until smooth and a thick batter forms. 4. Pour the batter onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it out into a rectangle with a spatula. You want the crust to be about 1/4 - 1/8" thick. 5. Bake on the center rack for 10 minutes, then remove and flip the crust directly onto the baking sheet and bake another 8 minutes. 6. While the crust is baking, finely slice the zucchini and tomatoes into rounds. 7. Remove the crust from the oven and spread the rest of the hummus out in an even layer (this acts as our "sauce"). Top with the zucchini and tomato slices (I arranged them in rows, but you can do it however you like), followed by the cheese. 8. Bake for another 6 - 10 minutes until the cheese has melted and vegetables are hot. 9. Remove and slice into squares. Sprinkle with fresh basil and crushed red pepper and serve.
