STRATEGIES TO INCORPORATE PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD IN YOUR TRAINING: by @fittestathletix - 📌1. Increasing the resistance By adding more weight or resistance to your exercises, you can easily increase your progressive overload. Challenging your muscles with more weight = GAINS! - 📌2. Increasing your sets and reps Sometimes adding more weight isn’t always an option – especially when you are first starting out, or if the exercises don’t involve weight. So a way to increase your progressive overload in this situation is to increase your sets and or reps. - 📌3.Increasing your training volume Rather than just increasing the reps or the weight, you can also increase your volume. You can do this by adding more exercises to your training sessions. - 📌4. Decreasing rest time between sets You can increase your progressive overload by doing the same amount of work, but in less time. Decreasing your rest time in between sets requires your body to become more efficient with weightlifting. - 📌TAKING YOUR TRAINING TO THE NEXT LEVEL While there are many different ways of increasing your progressive overload, you should generally try and stick with one strategy at a time. For example, when you increase the weight – you are not also going to be able to increase the reps of the exercise without potentially hurting yourself. It’s good to use a variety of different strategies, just not at the same time. Knowing these different strategies allows you to have other options when simply adding more weight no longer seems to be working. 📌Progressive overload is also different from person to person. Some strategies will work better for some people, but not for everyone. You should try different strategies and look at your training goals to see what works best for you. In case you missed it in the stories 📚 • Deadlifts 👉🏼 200kg for 10 Bench Press 👉🏼 120kg for 7 Dumbbell Press 👉🏼 55kg for 4, 50kg for 10 • All PB’s from my last training block and a great way to finish off my ‘growth/ off season’. • To ensure progression in physique or strength over time progression in your training/ nutrition/ lifestyle habits need to better over time also. This can easily be done with proper programming and guidance, all you need to do in return is have a consistent and genuine work ethic. • Deadlifts👉🏼 not a weight for rep PB however a volume via sets PB. Bench Press👉🏼 12 months ago I could lift 120kg for 5, now I’m 2 reps surpass this with roughly 3.5kg less body fat. Dumbbell Press 👉🏼 never before could I manage 55kg, it’s also taken 10 months to add 1 rep to this set regime • Progression may take time depending on your circumstance, progression will always be none the less.. progression • #physique #mensphysique #classicphysique #teamgorle #teamvalhalla at Valhalla Strength - Brisbane

Rocked my ketoAF shirt at boot camp today. Cup of bullet to top off todays beatdown. Today i weighed in at 155.3 this am. Its been a struggle to get where im at but i finally found the right formula to be here. Boy it was a struggle, but you just gotta push and keep coasting. Goal is to reach at 140-145ibs by the end of this month. Ketones numbers remain consistent and Blood sugars and lab work up are within normal limits. Coredio burner after todays full body workout. Implemented #coretucks #burpees and #plankjackpushups It was a start at 25 reps each exercise kinda thing and work your way down to 1 rep. It was the perfect cardio. I was down to my last 5 reps here. Fatigue and tightness started to kick in, srry about the shitty form. But it Finally feels good to do some burpees, its been a minute.
