As we get closer to the holiday seasons, remember to mind your mind; mind your business and mind your body... and to tell everyone else to do the same if they cross the line. ⁣ 📸: @_risingstrong ⁣ Everyone always wants to voice their opinion (yes, we are all a culprit of it), so head into this season following the traditional rule that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. ⁣ ⁣ The tricky part is that what you think you’re saying or what is said to you isn’t always coming from a mean or hurtful place. For example, it really bothers me when people comment about what’s on my plate or how much I’m eating or not eating. Little do they know, eating in front of people is my TOP trigger and just getting me to sit at the table is a huge step and took a shit ton of energy for me to do. But they don’t know that, so I politely tell them that this is my anxiety and when they bring it up, it makes it even more difficult. ⁣ ⁣ And guess what? 99% of people totally get it and apologize. (Theres always gonna be 1% of ignorant people, unfortunately).⁣ ⁣ So, this season, remind yourself: ⁣ 💕 Some comments are better left unsaid ⁣ 💕 Some people don’t mean to offend you with their comments and just need to be informed ⁣ 💕 Do what you can do, eat what you can or what you want, and don’t let anyone else take away your power with their words ⁣ 💕Wear whatever clothing makes you feel great, whether it’s track pants and a hoodie or a sexy dress with a plunging neckline ⁣ ⁣ You do you, boo! ⁣ ⁣ 📸: @_risingstrong

Day 33: . So today I got some more Christmas shopping done and got to have lunch with James on his break 🥰 . After all that, I drove out to dads place to go for a swim, have dinner and hang out for a bit! Went for a swim with my lil bro and he was having so much fun splashing me haha 😂💕 . My parents bought me some parts for my car today so I can get it all fixed up! I’m so grateful for them for doing that because I’m so broke and wouldn’t have been able to get my car roadworthy for a while 😅🥰 . Overall had a pretty good day. Started off quite stressed and pissed off but after seeing my boyfriend and driving around I felt much better!! Now I’m home so I’m gonna watch some more Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings and eat ice cream haha 🤣

Let’s talk about it! ⇣ ⁣ What triggers you during the holidays? ⁣ ⁣ Okay, let’s get serious - Christmas isn’t all Fa-La-La. It is a really hard and dark time for a lot of people, but let’s talk about it. My biggest trigger is having all of these commitments and dinner plans with large groups of people. Anytime I feel EXPECTED to be somewhere, my anxiety gets triggered and when it’s the holidays, your loved ones and friends expect you to be here and there, and everywhere. Their intention comes from a kind place and I absolutely love spending Christmas with a bunch of my loved ones, but that’s not to say that my anxiety doesn’t step in and say, “Hey! Let’s have a panic party!” ⁣ ⁣ The key is that, regardless of how anxious I get, I still go. ⁣ ⁣ 🎄But I’m curious, what is your holiday anxiety trigger and how do you deal with it? ⁣ ⁣ 🎙This was a hot topic on our latest podcast episode - definitely worth listening to. Please hear me when I say this .. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IF: -You are skipping meals -You are eating in secret -You make yourself excessively exercise -You are constantly consumes by food -You purge (vomiting or laxatives) -You lie about what you do or don’t eat I am only hitting a few points but eating disorders have an array of symptoms.
