Loaded Chicken Taco soup 👌 . I have been wanting Mexican for a while now so I decided to make this Loaded Taco soup last night and I’m glad I did! . Made in the slow cooker I just threw in chicken thighs, broth, black beans, spices, veggies, salsa, jalapeños and tomatoes and let it cook for 6 hours. Once done I shredded the chicken, topped it with avocado, sour cream and these amazing @tiopablonz spicy corn chips and dinner was served. Delicious and full of goodness with a nice balance of protein and healthy fats. ✨ . Loving this book so far-thank you for the recommendation @traceysoghrati 💜 What has resonated with me so far from the book is that we can approach changing our behaviours from three different layers. 💫 The first layer is changing our outcome and is focused on changing our results such as wanting to lose weight. 💫 The second layer is changing our process such as implementing a new gym routine. 💫 The third and deepest layer is changing our IDENTITY. This level is concerned with changing our beliefs, our worldview, self-image and judgments about ourselves and others. 💫 When we want to build habits that last, all of these layers of change are needed, however the direction of change is often the issue. When we start with shifting our identity as a first step, such as stating that we identify as a healthy person, the behaviours that follow are more likely to be in line with this identity that we wish to uphold. 💫 We can approach all our choices that we want to align with this identity by asking “is this something a healthy person would choose to eat?”, “would a healthy person skip workouts a few days in a row”. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a smaller body will not make you happy. It also won't magically make all of your problems disappear or improve your relationships or guarantee success at work. . . We're taught that thinness equals health, happiness, joy, sex. We're taught that thinness is the means to everything you've ever dreamed of- if only you had the willpower to get thin enough to achieve it. What a load of nonsense 💩 . . Because we're taught that thinness is our ticket to everything we've ever wanted, we try in vain to continue to shrink ourselves, grasping for the happiness we were promised. But we never find it. We discover we were sold false promises. So, my friend, what do we do about it? . . You can skip past the attempts to change your body and instead realize that everything you desire- happiness, unconditional love, sensuality- these are all available to you RIGHT NOW- with the body you have RIGHT NOW. So instead of continuing to work against your body, try a different route- a route towards unconditional love for yourself, for food, & for your incredible body. . . What started out as trying to change your body in search of love becomes the opposite- by learning to love yourself you realize you never needed to change your body to begin with ✨

It can feel very scary to say "No more" to various diets and start looking inward to find the healing you want for your relationship with food, and your body. I was there....what if I eat everything I want and just can't stop? What if I can't fit into my clothes....what will other people say when I tell them I'm not on any diet (when I clearly need to be on one)? I've been there, I've done the work, in a different way, and now I could never imagine putting myself through the quick fix diets ever again. Because here's the thing....the quick fixes may be good for 21 days or even 2 yrs, but it's only temporary. Taking the deep dive into yourself (which is where the work truly begins) is the way to journey through the hurt, the emotions, the circumstances that got you to thinking you needed to diet in the first place and to get true healing on the other side. The amount of time and work may be the same, but the latter approach provides lasting change and most importantly,True Healing. Holiday time can be quite the emotional trigger for some around food and eating. For some it triggers a “who cares” attitude where they just eat and drink everything in sight with little disregard for health. For others it triggers more of a restrictive attitude where you move food miserably around your plate at social occasions while watching everyone else tucking in. . Maybe it’s stressful family relationships that makes you want to drink all the wine or eat all the pavlova, or the feeling of being judged or even worse, judging yourself. . Whatever the trigger is, this is not what Christmas time should be about. These stressful thoughts and feelings do nothing but activate your sympathetic nervous system, which can result in digestive distress, reduced calorie burning and increased fat storage. . Christmas should be about relaxation, time with family and friends, holidays, enjoying the scorched almonds without guilt, and maximising your downtime to recharge after a busy year. . I love my job, I love what I do, I love the fact that I can help people overcome food and body challenges they have been dealing with for years, sometimes decades. Love this question! I spent so many years focusing on, stressing, and obsessing over everything I ate, how much I worked out, how much I weighed, and how I looked in my clothes.
